I like how Daemon strategically pulled off Rhaneras hat and lead her to that brothel house to get noticed.. 🙄 Own family so shady for the throne
FACTS!!! I was thinking the same thing. He cares nothing about what ppl think or say about him. But Rhaenyra? He put her all the way out there.
I noticed that too and wondered why no one mentioned it. If he just wanted a tryst with her he wouldn't have bothered to take off her hat. He wanted her to be noticed so it would start rumors.
I think Daemon is aware that the White Worm is betraying him and he provoked the situation, sacrificing his relationship with his brother, but with the expectation that the King would backup his daughter and finally get rid of Otto. That would be so mayor playing of the Game of Thrones
Remember, George wrote Fire and Blood and the world of ice and fire to have unreliable narrators. And one aspect is it’s all retellings from the perspective of mæsters, and it’s speculated that the mæsters have their own conspiracy against the dragons
Judging by your comment you haven’t read Fire and Blood since sources are not just from maesters, one source and very important character is completely missing from the show. If you read the book you would know that and wouldn’t have wrote what you did.
@@Cardan011 even though George himself said fire and blood and world of ice and fire were written by unreliable narrators. Now it may have been awhile since reading fire and blood, so I may need some reminding, who are you referring to?
@@tgiacin435 mushroom
@@Cardan011 he allegedly wrote that
@@tgiacin435 he is not even in the show…. Even though he is constant fixture among royal family, so if we go by the tv show mushroom doesn’t exist…which invalidates 60% of the chapters of Fire and Blood that deal with Dance of the Dragons
It makes you wonder if that wasn’t the real reason The Mad King became so mistrusting of Tywin after all. If he knew his history he probably recognized a bit of Otto Hightowers power plays in Tywin’s schemes to wed Rhaegar to his daughter Cersei reflexively sowing mistrust in his Hand.
I mean, tbh, Rhaegar was gonna be heir to the Throne either way, so the situation beyond Rhaegar and Cersei would've been a lot more tame and straightforward than the situation here between Rhaenyra and her half brother
@@thalmoragent9344 I think you missed the point

It's as you said...Courtship Progression. This means visiting other nobles... which means sets... which means money... easier to hold it on one set already built and use your budget for other things.
Making that one courtship scene pretty "grandeur" and then imply through conversation that this is just one of the many stops of an entire tour is actually smart budgeting.
Like the dragons😅
I hate my wife for telling me that daemon looks like barney stinson. I cant stop seeing barney's face now.
Well shit thank her from me too now....
Lol Daemon broke the Bro Code when he took her to the brothel.
Stinson out. 😂
Hhahahha no he doesn’t. Barney is way feminine and polished.
(Armor) suit up
only video that doesn't say Rhaenyra lied to Alicent about Daemon. Thank you, sir. Good vid.
How can you say that the most important and or only lesson Rhanera learned was that she can do what she wants because she is royalty? She actually learned the opposite of that hence all of the consequences that became of it.
What consequences did she really suffer? She's still Viserys' heir and her marrying Laenor Velaryon is a mere slap on the wrist since she was already being forced to marry. If anything this is the beginning of all her future sexual adventures.
The lesson she learnt is, truth doesn't matter, how it's perceived matters.
Honestly as someone who knows the story she's going to be a little fk'd up in the future, less than her brother but still fk'd up, so I guess the presenter in this video is just trying to make the glove fit by saying that's the lesson
she learned at the end of the day.
@@Ali80076 her brother?
@@jsan3743 Aegon II, her 1/2 brother. Alicent is his mother and they share Viserys as a father. Aegon is more f’d up than Rhaenyra is what is being said.
You'd think it'd be hard for a princess to sneak out when she has a personal guard and have Daemon leave a map and clothes in her room without being noticed. It was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
"It was super easy, barely and inconvenience". I see what you did there! ✌😏
Who said Daemon had to be the one to leave them in her room? Most likely he gave them to a servant to put them in her room for him. Probably told them that it was a gift for her and the servants wouldn't question it. Also the guard isn't in the room with her. He is guarding her door and she leaves through a hidden passage way that neither she herself or her gaurd knew about previously. GOT and HotD have a lot of issues, but that's not one of them.
🎵🎵🎶🎶secret tunnel 🎶🎶🎵🎵🎵
Not unless Daemon was using the same secret passages through the Keep as well. That's exactly why Maegor had the passages designed when the Keep was built: to be able to conceal safe passage throughout the keep or in & out of the keep.
Yeah, I'm gonna need you to get waaaaaaaay up off my back about it.
Daemon courtship grooming would be too dragging and obvious. So changing it to something more intense and short makes more sense.
It make sense that things are shown different here than in the book. If I remember correctly Gerorge stated the show supposed to show what really happened. Dance of dragons is a in universe history book after all. And as we all know historians are far from biased and without their own agenda.
Daemon gives me Loki fucking with Thor vibes..
I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice how odd having lords of the riverlands at Storms End.
Well done! Excellent, informative video.
Alicent is a handmaid. The closeness of her and Rhaenyra in the show is so different especially since there is supposed to be 9 years between them
the book i was told is written like by a maester, unreliable and untrustworthy.
@@carlosrivas1629 the book is written by goerge, no?
@@JWil97 he wrote as if he was a maester or unreliable narrator

@@Vaipou well in tv we dont want to see those age gaps as its knd of inappropriate. also they could be wrong about age gaps too.
The duel between House Bracken and House Blackwood got me thinking. If Tell Tale Games ever get to bring back GOT the video game, but had to start over. Maybe they could have those two houses have there own special series and you got to pick which side to take. Just a thought.
This actress who plays Rhanerya should of played Dany in GOT. Not to take anything away from Emilia Clarke but this particular girl looks like the age that Dany was depicted in the beginning of the books.
But she would be way younger back then?
She would've been 10 years younger but if it was shot now I agree w u
"Spoiler warning" Nothing beats Joffreys spoiler in season 3 episode 4 of GOT!
Remember it's not the destination itself but the journey that makes it compelling.

I love every video about House of 🐉 ❤
I don't think someone who looks like the girls in the book, fits the part I have seen so far. The real actress is doing a great job. Of course I loved to hate her before the series started, but once I watch a couple of episodes I really like her.
If everyone looked the same as rhe books it would look like the vampire diaries or something, whith everyone being unnecessarily attractive.
It works for certsin stories but I think it would be distracting for this one
@@lilypond5158 she’s actually later described as pretty ugly in the books. I think the asoiaf books has a good balance of realistic looking characters
Team Black all day!
Please talk about Alicent Hightower in the books
That's coming up! :) This week!
@@MarvelousVideos Yes 👍👍👍
They’re probably showing Storm’s end because of the future Luke and Aemond scene.
Honestly? Let's not nitpick. They were using Storm'sEnd because it will be a new/familiar place we will visit again later. And, as a fan, it's nice to FINALLY see Storm'sEnd on screen.
I didn't realize Rhaenyra was such a hussy in the book 😂 Also I'm assuming King Viserys and the council were only afraid of the Sea Snake marrying his daughter to a Sea Lord of Bravos because of a possible betrayal? I assumed he had a decent relationship with them because of trading. I couldn't imagine Corlys attacking Westeros anyway seeing as his wife is Targaryen. Either way I guess it'd be dumb is they just waved this marriage off as if it didn't matter.
God forbid she choose her own lovers and enjoy s£x! Such a hussy, shame shame. Alicent’s s£x life is wayyyy preferable, right????
His Wife is a Targaryen who some once thought would become Queen, so there's reason is the minds of some others to be distrustful
The written story takes place over 17 years and the character serves as a beta for the main story's ultimately villainous wielder of power. The main themes of his writing are about how power can affect anyone in any multitude of ways and how history is always in motion and the narrators aren't always reliable. Both television shows stay true to that too, with much promise ending in disappointment in the first series for me - not because of the story, but because of the script writing. The new show is starting off wonderfully.
Who’s the ‘ultimately villainous character’? Because that’s not clear. One could argue the leaders of greens who defy a king’s order(and vows made by lords of greater houses to his designated heir, not to mention 1st male as heir is tradition, not written law). Others could argue leaders of the blacks, who despite several greater lords going back on the vows made to her, have chosen their monarch. Aemond engages in the 1st unprovoked murder, Sir Cole/Aegon II/Alicent defy the king, while Rhaenyra makes bastards dragon riders, preceded by adultery(though who can really blame her when 1st hubby exclusively prefers men), and Daemon is Daemon.
The way I see it. the style the books where written was by unreliable narrators so some of the difference in the show may be what really happened based on George R. R. Martin.

📽🔝🎭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐲
Daemon is so reckless with his dragon, even stepping on one of his men. He doesn't care to watch where he's going.
The truth she learned I feel is that truth doesn't matter and what matters most is what's seen and not heard so showing face is most important and how things are perceived. I do wish they wouldn't has skipped so much and that 10 year jump in the show kinda sucked In my opinion. I wish they younger actresses would've gotten a few more episodes than what they had. Instead if 10 episodes total it could've went 12 or even 13, I feel like it's just getting lazy jist like the last episode of goT only having 6 episodes, was ridiculously short and jist lazy when there could've been so much more touched on
The way Damon's toes point out when he walks really bothers me for some reason. I think I just can't picture such a bad a$$ character shambling along like a skinny blonde penguin
no literally i thought it was just me, i couldn't stop thinking abt it during the scene when he returned
You should have seen him running in the Stepstones
And not to mention his bandy legs... my dad would have said "he couldn't stop a pig in an entry"! 😂😂
rhanaryrias suitors- a grandpa, smol savage lad, uncle..........oh ya laenor lolz
I wish they had focused on Daemon’s courtship of Rhanearya instead of the one trashy night.

@@AL-fl4jk Thanks, I though they were only up North.
The one in kings landing was a show change
I’m also not really getting why they are changing Alicent to not have personal ambitions of her own for her son or herself. It’s probably to endure the audience to her kinda like how dumb & dumber humanized Cersei more for the show
It makes her more compelling this way. It's tragic that a girl who was compassionate, kind and anxious ended up becoming someone corrupted by power and fear. It's way more interesting than book Alicent who is one dimensional and only known as an ambitious power hungry woman. We already have Otto fill that role, why do you want two characters without any complexity or depth? They made a good decision humanising her as it makes her character and development different from her father's. Considering she's going to be a main player it's better that she has more to personality than just evil villain. Not to mention GRRM doesn't write characters as one dimensional. Everyone is grey. Even hero's do evil deeds and villains show empathy. I get the changes can be a bit much for people who don't understand fire blood also has a lot of wiggle room as events are being told from third parties perspectives.
@@Freya1412 well seeing as how I’ve read fire & blood twice that’s not my issue. Since in the books it’s Alicent who suggests Aegon & Rhaenyra wed them changing it in the show will only make it more jarring. I don’t like Alicent not having any agency or ambition I think that’s what made her more compelling in the books. Because unlike Rhaenyra she accepts her position as a woman in that society & does her duty but also has ambitions of her own & plays her lady game & wants her son on the throne since his birth. & was well aware why her father sent her to comfort the king & coveted the title of queen herself, the highest honor a lady can achieve. So no I think it would’ve been more interesting if her own ambitions were shown & portrayed more in the show like the books cause I think that is what makes her compelling not being a nervous puppet who flips cause your daddy told you to.
@@tytybaby06 that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Alicent from the book would not have translated well to screen for the mere fact that she would be a duplicate of Otto. Why would you two characters who are basically the same? That's a waste. The show runners, along with GRRM have chosen to take the approach that shows you each character from their individual first hand perspective. Not from Mushroom or some maester's biased perception of these events. To someone like mushroom, Alicent came across as a salacious gold digger for example. Yet we don't know that to be true because it came from a third party spectator. Tbh all the characters had to be humanised for the show. Out of curiosity do you take issue with all the characters or just Alicent being humanised?
Arya will kill the nightking in the books. D&D said they would do the show only if GRRM gave them a outline of what will happen in the end. This is before the most recent book (11 years ago) even came out. This was directly from him, they may have written it poorly but its Georges. If you watch an interview with GRRM he did in season 1, he says "Keep an eye on Arya, I have big plans for her" and hes said multiple times "I wrote Arya in image of my wife, Shes my favorite charactuer and the story really is just as much about her as Cercei, or Jon, or Dany". He has said Arya is his favorite 100 times. The reason he stopped writing the books(and never will again) is because he had this massive plan for the ending, Arya being trained then killing the NK, Jon being "the prince that was promised" and "Uniting the kingdoms to face the long night" (both are true, nowhere does it say the prince will kill the NK, he will be a prince and lead) and people HATED it, everything GRRM has built this book around HATED, and TRASHED "Arya cant kill the NK", "What is this trash, Jon should have faced the NK and won!" Blah blah, so George said "fuck everyone, they dont like my ending tehy can have no ending" and waddled off to start writing a prequele (FnB) to sell to HBO. Which he sold the right to for 80 million btw.
@@Freya1412 no that’s not true they would’ve came off like Tywin & Cersei same ambition for their house but different motives & ways to go about it. It would’ve made them more real in my opinion & more apart of the world than alicent acting as if she doesn’t understand anything that’s lame to me. I love what Paddy is doing with Viserys giving him layers & making him more compelling I only don’t like the aging down of lady Laena & how alicent is portrayed
"...plan within plan"..is that a nod to Dune?
Poor child actually believes season 2 will be out by next year lmfao they'll start filming next year and we'll actually get it in 2024
I don't think you realize how big this show actually is and how much traveling and filming the have to do
What makes you think they haven’t started filming?
These shows booked for multiple seasons don’t really stop filming anymore. They might have a few weeks off then they are back on set. Of course that’s just a generalization, I have no info about the filming of this show specifically.
she look like that "you guys are getting paid" dude from the memes
You had no right to put a joke that funny in the first 20 seconds of the video 😭
Who does the closed captioning ? There’s a huge difference between a tournay and attorney ! That’s where you lost me!
I am currently guessing it's not as boring. Seems to me they are just rehashing old plots. Plus Prince Joffrey Velaryon of Targaryen dynasty as already revealed!! You know what no spoilers. The answers are out there 👽
Where da fuk is Mushroom?!
He is the littler person playing the hand drum at Rhaenyra's wedding to Laenor
I was all in for Game of Thrones with all the actors. Despite the horrible ending, I loved each and every one of the actors chosen for the parts. I just can't get comfortable with the young actress in House Of the Dragon playing Rhaenyra. I don't know why...I'm okay with all the other actors.
What bothers me most is how they portray the blacks as way more of a good guy than they were in the books. In the books both Greens and Blacks (especially Rhaenyra) are all very flawed. Here it's super clear that Team Rhaenyra = Good guys and Team Alicent = Bad guys. In the books they could both be perceived as the bad guys, depending on whose side you looked at it
Daemon's dragon . . . has no fire.
Apparently it does since he has two kids with Laena (however you spell her name).

You have an issue with brown ?
BC the father has brown hair!!!!!
in the books the Hightowers sometimes have valyrian features, that is why Alicent's children have valyrian features
Because the father is First Men lineage, and maesters had speculated that descendants of First Men tend to retain the hair color. That is how Ned Stark found out that Joffrey is not Robert's son.
They are supposed to be harwin strongs sons.

Yea but her son becomes king 😊 so she won
These Targaryens look like aliens.

Some of these changes are ok.
The show is amazing tbh.
It follows the lore enough to be faithful without making the non first hand writer completely credible.
Some events will ALWAYS have to be changed for cinema.
The show is a little woke but it remains faithful to the lore so the wokeness can be looked past.
The first 3 episodes are slow as hell but ep 4+5 are significantly better and have me hyped for later episodes.
Simply put, be glad it's nothing like Rings of Power.
As a lore buff of both the works of Tolkien and Martin, it's fair to say that house of the dragon is an amazing adaptation while not containing "The Message of 2022"
What is Fire and Blood?
Those are the words for the Targaryen House, just like how "Iron from Ice" are the words for House Forrester.
first then!
Episode 4 was dark for about 20 minutes. Darkness does not a good watch make.
"Skion"...... Wat?
If that depiction is correct then damn, we could have had much better...
We are rooting for Rhaenyra afterall? Not me. Pass.

I'm not rooting for either side lol, they all die anyways.
He on the green faction toss him in the dragon pit he is not worth it🤣

It appears that the characters are actually good looking in the book but in the series they’re ugly!
Number 1 difference:
In the TV show men are all stupid and evil, while all women are good, misunderstood, oppressed, independent and strong!
Speaks to the feminist leanings of this time.
Well... Why did all the comments get deleted?
Daemon is basically the co-protagonist and is basically the mirror of the main character. You're eating too many red pills, get out touch grass and talk to a real woman.
why are the doing everything that ruined the firsst show? skipping so much time, rushing the story, they are literally doing exactly what caused everyone to turn on dan and dave and the first GOT series
I think bc there is only 4 seasons and 10 episodes each
Dance of dragon is supposed to be on a 20 yrs period they wanted to give some context before starting straight up the war 12 yrs later
