It's not Rhaenyra's fault or that of her boys that the homosexual man she was married off to couldn't give her children, and she, the heir to the iron throne, couldn't go out and ask strangers that look like Laenor (if she could even find one) if she could use them to produce her heirs, (how long would it be before the blackmail and extortion begins). It's her duty to produce heirs to secure her own succession, so her decision to have them with her trusted sworn protector makes sense, he was a good, courageous and honorable man who would never betray her. They are the future heir to the iron throne's trueborn children and are Targaryen, that's all that is required to keep the realm safe from the WW's. The Hightowers would use any excuse to put their own vile blood on the throne, even if it means making a drunken morally depraved rapist a king, they couldn't give a fu*k about the realm.

When Daemon wrote Aemond a letter telling him to meet him in the Gods Eye, it took TWO WEEKS for Aemond to respond. I don't know how long it takes ravens to fly from one place to another. I understand these aren't text messages or email. But 14 days is telling me Aemond is the one looking scared.
The happiest times for Daemon are the years between the time jumps. They're off-screen. His 10 years with Laena and their twin daughters in Essos. He was at peace. His first 6 years with Rhaenyra in Dragonstone. Did you see how happy he looked about those dragon eggs? Never seen Daemon smile so big and look that excited. But this is a drama. No episode can be written if no conflict or fighting.
Rhaenyra will lose that third child in her belly but Syrax laid three eggs. Perfect number for Daemon's kids so that's one for Rhaena, Aegon III, and Viserys II although the latter doesn't get a dragon. Rhaena will have Morning and Aegon III will have Stormcloud. Viserys II's bloodline will produce Daenerys and Jon Snow/Aegon.
I'm actually not even looking forward to Daemon vs. Aemond. I think most people already know who wins and GRRM is going to be pro-Daemon since that's his favorite Targaryen. If Aemond still had two eyes and fought on the ground, I'd still have my money on Daemon. The one I'm looking forward to more is does Daemon live or not? Did he get swallowed by Caraxes or Vhagar by accident? Body was never found.
I don't mind if they keep it a mystery forever. Let our imaginations run wild with it. But I wouldn't be too shocked if we do see a final scene of him in Pentos. Of course people will ask, why leave Aegon III and Viserys II there in Westeros? Question his fatherhood again. Perhaps Daemon will live in Pentos and tell Baela and Rhaena to help raise his sons there? They do act like loving older sisters to Aegon III.
Daemon is supposed to die before Rhaenyra. But people estimate Rhaenyra that will die by the end of S3. If we have 4 seasons, that final season will NOT have Matt Smith and Emma D'Arcy. I don't know how that final season gets carried when two of the most popular characters are eliminated? HBO isn't going 100% by the book. It's obvious they will alter some things. But I don't see them altering Rhaenyra's death.
The Dance of the Dragons lasts from 129-131 AC. Daemon and Rhaenyra die in 130. There are still more events that follows their deaths....
- The Moon of the Three Kings
- Battle of the Kingsroad
- Aegon II's Death
- The False Dawn
- Hour of the Wolf (this involves Cregan Stark)
- The Regency of Aegon III
That final season will be interesting. All the major characters are gon3. Otto got beheaded. Criston gets killed by archers. Alicent is imprisoned and eventually dies in it. Aemond is killed by Daemon as his body was found with Dark Sister through his last good eye years later. Daemon is assumed dead. Rhaenyra gets eaten by Sunfyre. Larys will eventually die.
We might lose Daemon and Rhaenyra as early as the end of S3 or no later than mid-S4. Rhaenyra will NOT be in the series finale and who knows what happened to Daemon if he got to live the rest of his life with Nettles in Essos?

Moreso than *Cregan* *Stark.* Roderick Dustin is one of those grizzled, old savage warriors. He does die during the Dance but how he dies is badass the way Barristan Selmy did against a bunch of Sons of Harpy.

Rhaenyra doesn't lose the baby, she gives birth to a daugher by Daemon, they name her Visenya.
@@RedRoseSeptember22 The daughter is born still born and disfigured though. So she does lose the baby.
I believe Aegon has had at least 2 of his children because Helaena mentions that Diana was supposed to "dress the kids."
- I havent listened or read the books in so long and I was wrecked at the time as I was heavily addicted to benzo's so its kinda nice to have forgotten how great the books were so I can fully enjoy the show. I had forgotten so much, even that Viserys wasn't a walking corpse in the books.

And Alicent getting her eye for an eye. Also, with how they framed the scenes, Alicent and the High Towers always sit on his blind side, while Rheanyra and Daemon stay in his sight.

@@J.Wiki23 When he dragged himself up to that throne despite the agony he was in just to protect his little girl. As a daughter with a disabled father who lives in pain daily, that hit me so hard, I could 100% see my own father in that moment and it brought me to tears. Such a powerful scene.

This Viserys is way better than his book version. I really didnt pay much attention to, nor care for, book Vis. He didnt seem interesting. Paddy and the writers have made Viserys a great character and King. He was trying so hard to follow his heart and his family just made it a point to let the weight of that crown drag him down.
Even GRRM agrees he's so much better in the show. He joked that he felt like ripping pages from his book so he could rewrite him.

That's the point, he is a farce of a hero.
He is a coward that attacks unarmed men from behind for telling the truth (so I mean treason), a sociopath that murders his wife.
Daemon acts with reckless abandon and has no real consequence to what he does. He is no Oberyn and he is certainly no Jaime. Even when Jaime was an arsehole, he didn't attack Ned from behind. That was infact what saved Neds life.

First name was a custom among the First Men. Good Queen Alysanne, Viserys's grandmother mother put an end to it.
Helaena mentioned Dionna was supposed to dress "the children". That implies Aegon and Helaena already have at least two children.
I understand that the names are hard to pronounce, but they literally say them on the show. There are numerous content creators that pronounce the names and places wrong, which makes little sense to me as you can hear how they are pronounced and then pronounce them the same. Accents are fine, different ways of speaking are fine ( like how this creator replaces "th" with "d" and sounds like his mouth is full of spit while speaking ), but surely, there's little excuse for incorrectly pronouncing names that are spoken aloud every week. It does matter, and it is important when making content like this.
George does say himself there is no "one correct way" to pronounce these names.
All I say about Rhaenyra's kids is "The seed is strong"

In the book, Viserys was almost as plump as King Henry the 8th. But in the show, they have him look like he's turning into Gollum with one eye. One reason why I like the book more than the show. Another reason is that they had Aemond have an eye patch in the show, and not a sapphire in the book.
Even GRRM prefers show Viserys to his Viserys. So much so he joked about ripping pages from his book and rewriting him.

It really is a shame that Alicent became such a hypocrite pertaining to her son and her past judgements on Rhaenrya. Hindsight is always 2020.... But if Jace would've been with Helaena..... He would've made her happy.... All of the houses had enough between them to strengthen their political bonds and could have seriously stopped most of the bloodshed.
Alicent really brings down the show for me. Her hatred towards Rhaenerya was built way too quickly and doesn't make much sense imo.
