My grandfather passed away from infection after stepping on a nail and having the diabetes expedite the infection process. This genuinely hurts to watch.

It is technically possible to taper with the alcohol itself, but it should take no more than a few hours in the ER for the doctors to give him meds so he doesn't have any seizures
takes a tapering and some meds and monitoring, but alcohol isnt a show stopper unless u let it be
As far as alcoholism goes. Blade is a dead man walking. There is no "coming back" or recovering from what he's done.
Diabetes, necrotic sores, gangrene, cirrhosis, 0 blood circulation to his limbs, missing teeth & infected roots, brain damage, the list is a mile long.

Dead man walking? You can’t be serious. There are 70 year olds on Skid Row who look like actual zombies that will still be here years from now. Blade doesn’t have cirrhoses or gangrene or any of that yet. He seems to still have most of his teeth. Diabetes is treatable. Yeah, he looks like a mess, but it’s nothing that sobering up and eating right for a few months won’t fix

@@Earthsage I appreciate it. Unfortunately I picked it up pretty fast after three weeks, and went heavy until mid-last month. It will be a month sober on March 16th. Got myself on a medication that helps with cravings, however it can cause some heavy health and neurological issues. I hope to pick up some good habits and not stay on this garbage for too long in order to not get sucked back in to alcohol.

I first found out about Blade a few years ago via watching PKA clips. Its been so sad to watch what's been happening to him. Seems like he's pushed a lot of good people away and is left with people who treat him like this. I really hope he finds it in him to get out of this situation.

I've had family members that didn't take care of their diabetes. It destroys your nerve endings; it fucks with your ability to heal and circulate blood. My great grandfather's got so bad that his bones became so weak that he sustained a compound fracture in his leg. He barely even felt it. Got gangrene in that leg too, but that was a different incident. All diabetes doing. Please, do not let your diabetes go unchecked.
Lemme add that alcohol abuse also directly damages your nerve endings. So he's got a double whammy.

The fact drinking himself to death is his job is kinda sad. Unlike the mookbangers who can stop, lose weight, and recover from those negative effects, this guy will cause so much irreversible damage to himself that he can never walk away from.

working in healthcare, ive seen a few diabetic ulcers and a lot of them if gone untreated lead to sepsis which imo is one of the worst ways to go
I mean lost his partner, no home, no kids, no assets, always broke and no real friends. His love for the booze and stream has taken everything from him. Chicken and crew don't respect him. He is just the butt of thier jokes for donors. I'm still holding some hope he can recover but I doubt it will happen. Only thing I like about blade at this point is to monitor my own drinking.

I'm not a doctor or expert but blade's been getting diabetic ulcers on his feet and legs for years now. It's surprising he hasn't needed amputation. I'd be shocked if he didn't have really bad diabetic neuropathy in his feet and legs as well. It's basically a constant tingling and burning sensation.

4:11 - so his legs are likely 2 things. Telangiectasia or Purpura. Both are similar, the former more associated with chronic alcohol abuse. Where blood vessels start to pop and spider under surface of skin in legs. In either case, he is showing all the signs of not just severe alcoholism and cirrhosis but early stages of liver failure. Even if he gets into a detox facility and dries out under doctor's care - might be too late. If he quit drinking outside a facility without proper meds & supervision, he would likely have a seizure and die

Obviously a part of him is doing this for the money but speaking as an ex addict who was extremely self-destructive and didn't give a shit about what I was doing to my body or literally anything people had to say as far as advice goes in general: I would almost bet my life that he's doing this because he's got poor self-esteem and a lack of identity and this is how he found acceptance during a point in his life where he was unsure about his future and I'm referring to the transition from being a gaming streamer to making the decision about his life and whether he would get a real life job or do what he's doing now. Psychologically speaking I think this whole culture of entertainment and streaming and the ease of access for people to get started doing it on top of the obviously unhealthy pair of social and otherwise problems, I think people are really doing some damage to themselves trying to create content and trying to even consume content with some of the expectations placed on them from these creators intentionally and non-intentionally. It's not healthy is what I'm saying and I don't know what it's going to look like in the end but like I said I think doctors and psychologists could learn wealth of insider knowledge from watching this sort of documented behavior

I do know how sad of a life that is because I used to wake up everyday knowing that if I didn't have $60 in the next hour I was going to feel like shit to the point where I would Rob my own mother if I had to to not feel like that and as much as everybody projected and tried to assume that not only did I enjoy what I was doing but I wouldn't do anything else even if I could, I very much so understood the realities of the hell that I was in and honestly that realization made it worse because the self-loathing increased as whatever shred of empathy remained was intentionally cast away. That's part of the reason why I watch blade because yeah I know it's debased debauchery but a larger part of me understands a person who can talk about how much they hate drinking or using drugs while they're literally doing it and how they could feel like the only other option would be to end it all and it's honestly probably the better option to go that route because while it might hurt some people that are close to you, you're very existence is doing that on a daily basis anyway and if you did go through with it and hurt them, at least you wouldn't continue to hurt them in a new way each and every day. That's the reality of addiction and that's the mindset of somebody stuck in it contrary to what the media tells you and how people think addicts are living some grandiose lifestyle where they're at the top of the food chain living in the lap of luxury, I assure you even as much of a front as put on by any of the best of addicts, they hate themselves and they hate their life and they hate that they hate themselves and that increases every day that they continue to use because everything in them wants to stop but at the same time everything in them compels them not to and it's a shitty fucked up dichotomy that most people in society don't try to understand because it's easier just to snap judgment and eternally eject people from your life
