- This video gives you an in depth look at what is needed to install headers on the 6th gen Camaro SS. I installed Texas Speed's 1 7/8" stainless steel headers with off - road connection pipes. Comment below on what you liked or would like to see next on the channel!

I don’t have any experience working on car engines but you make it look easy. I will have someone else do my modifications on my Camaro. I enjoyed your video thanks for the information.Be well 😎
Big D where’s the fun in having someone else do it?
Ordering mine today with e85. Can’t wait
Did you add thread locker to the bolts on the headers or just tighten to spec?
Good information
Thanks
I'm considering a lift like yours. Did you need to modify your garage floor or did you use it on your existing garage floor? Ant light you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
How do you know what to torque the bolts too?
Really dope video .... really like the at home lift
Hey man I’m doing my headers LITERALLLY right now and there is a 5mm Allen key bolt that people are saying you use for the bottom bolt for the drive shaft is that what I do I see you just reused the bolts you pulled off??
On the website it gives the options for tunnel spacers, msd wires, and header bolts should I get them? Honestly not sure what they are.
Are there high flow cats that can be bolted onto these headers?
What tune do you have?
Thanks the good tutorial. I'm thinking of getting a lift. Your lift looks awesome. What type do you have and are there any minimum cement requirements? Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Happy holidays.
Thank you! This is a Bendpak, I believe the cement requirements were 8inches, but I'm sure the exact specs are on the website. This single post is designed to be able to balance even if it weren't bolted down, even though the singular post may look sketchy. Merry Christmas!
How did you remove or slide out the steering shaft? I already removed the bolts but it won't come off or idk
It can be tricky at first, but you need to muscle it loose. Sometimes it gets stuck in place
What exhaust setup u had on this car ?
Did u ever get a check engine light
New sub here
If I hadn’t done the resonator delete already does the off road connection pipe take the place if them?
Tristin Linley yes, the off road pipe is exactly that.
So i have a 2019 ss with roto fab intake and borla atak axel back im looking to get headers which one do u recommend i should get
I have TSP, they’re less expensive and I haven’t had any problems with them
I have a 2018 with K&N and borla axel back I was looking into kooks 👀 but...
Hows it doing on power bro I have the exact same car and am installing exact same setup this week
Was you able to pass emissions?
so you can just cap off the secondary o2 sensor connector?
guitardudeman100 yes, you can tape the connector and have it tuned out.
nice nice
What did you do with the last two 02 sensor did you need extension?
I left the last two O2 sensors disconnected and disabled them via tune
Does the tune take off the check engine light or how does that work?
yes it does
How can i remove the engine ligth after install the headers?
maybe i missed it, but don't you need a tune with headers for the long-term?
yes you do have to tune. shouldnt be getting on it untuned
J Cunningham where did you get the tune from?
@@JCunningham21 not only that but tunning it will give maximum of power too.
@@JCunningham21 huh? dont u only tune it for the max performance?
no you tune it so your air fuel will be correct and for performance. @@JussDraftfr
Hi what socket or wrench did you use to remover the cats bolts?
I just cut the pipe because it was a PITA to access the bolts
Michigan Muscle thanks a lot bro you're the best thanks for helping everyone
Is the install easier on 5th and 6thgens compared to 4th gens?
Maro Vlogs I think 5th gen is the easiest and 6th is the hardest
5th gen ...less undressing and less screws
Did u get the tunnel plate spacer or super conductor wires?
I did not get either of those
@@MichiganMuscle also did u clean the area were the headers mount?
I didn’t, they looked really clean as is. The gasket I took off came off in one piece
@@MichiganMuscle 👍👍so does Michigan require the rear 02 sensors for emissions?
hey did u have to take starter out when u did the header ?
I didn’t have to, no
i was going to the store and found a parking spot , so i was backing up to a parking spot , as i was turning the wheel hard it felt like i hit something and the car cut off in reverse . so shit i put it back in park and crank it back up . and it crank back up work no problem. so i had went ahead and park it . and i went inside for a good 1 and half and sat . so then i’m heading out , everything is working fine , car unlock and everything. so i hit the break and tried to crank it . it made a noise like it wanted to crank and after that nothing . so idk smh
everything comes on , radio , windows work but it want start . i had some headers install 2 days ago .
That’s very fishy.. the fact the radio comes on and everything works but cranking problems makes me think it’s the starter. As for the dying while in reverse I have no idea, that’s strange. I would check your connections on the starter. The headers wouldn’t heat soak your starter after two days but it’s possible it’s just a coincidence and is going bad. Definitely look at your starter connections though to see if it was an improper install
Michigan Muscle ok thanks for the help i will checkup on that asap
nuyice!
Do u have an oil leak
So does the off-road connection pipe delete the second cats?
Yes. Headers will delete primary cats and the off-road connection pipes will take the place of the secondaries
The raspy sound is from your off road pipes
Any welding? Or did they come with clamps
Nope, they came with clamps. I did end up welding it after about a year because the clamps kept shifting and I would get small leaks
Michigan Muscle Gotcha, I appreciate the quick response
Not sure if to go with Texas Speed or Kooks
Kooks are great but pricey, Texas speed offers similar performance results for much less
I went with BBK's and jegs x pipe, fast flow cats and Borla exhaust runs and sounds awesome, no dash lights on and no tune
how do you pass inspection with no cats? do you have any problems?
You buy an extra oem exhaust and switch it in when going to the inspection🤫
Is this Jack eichel from the Buffalo sabres! Holy lookalike....
How do you plan on passing emissions? I want to do an offroad X but don't want to deal with trying to pass emissions.
We don’t have emissions tests where I live
Michigan Muscle quick question , I just did a secondary cat delete, and I just purchased 2 inch tsp headers , did I essentially “waste” money doing the secondary cat delete since you have to cut them out to Install these anyways ?
Yo will pass if the light and codes are tuned put it's just a visual at that point
Can you post the link for the headers ??
www.texas-speed.com/p-5888-tsp-2016-camaro-ss-1-78-stainless-steel-long-tube-headers-off-road-connection-pipes.aspx
What’s a good difference between these and 2”?
There is a chart where ypu can find the specific info. But for general terms the 1 7/8 is the best for general mods. If you want to make you car for racing or 1/4 mile you should go with 2 inches.
Was that with stock mufflers?
Thanks
TurboCamaroSS 5.3 yes stock npp exhaust
what's up with the wallpaper on your lift
Actually is carpet, but it’s to protect the painted floor from getting scratched by the lift haha
Do you get any drone from doing this mod
Is the texas speed header worth it?!
I think they're worth it because of the price
On video cant tell that much, its a big louder but not much, maybe its just the audio of the camera
Are these catted?
These are non-catted. I opted for the offroad pipes instead
wassup
What tune?
Pray performance
Honestly GM did it right and it sounded better stock. But its nice you will be able to pull some more power out of it with the headers.
Shit that lift looks sketchy to work under lol. You should've gone with a 2 post
The single post is great for storing cars (which is 99% of what I use it for). It looks a little sketchy but its good for what I need it for
Weird how u have over 1k subs and get about 100 views in about 24 hours???🤔🤔
Your daddy buy that for you?
Wtf is a scissor lift 😂
Working on a car in a button down shirt, khaki shorts and boat shoes with no socks = douchebag.
Nice ride though. 👍👍👍👍
Lol, and then you change clothes....hahahaha.
I’m just bustin on ya bro.
Get wheels before header 🤦♂️🤣
