    I'm a Londoner and I've never known such anger towards a politician.... This is nothing to do with pollution or even money. Its is to do with control and the WEF Great Reset agenda.
    If I was Khan I wouldn't ever go out in London ever again. When we vote him out of office next year he should consider leaving the country!

The concern about it could cost Labour the next general election unless they unequivocally state that they will prevent it spreading. As it stands, it might cost them London because ULEZ expansion is, rightly or wrongly, being laid at Labour's door.

      I live in a street that is a major rat run used by people that can't be arsed with a 5 min detour. So in a personal level fuck every single one of them.

      @@nickshannon7442 Some of us have to use a diesel van to earn a living, and are unable to afford an update, even with a scrappage grant. For some of us it might mean ending up unable to pay rent to a private landlord so living on the streets. That is very real.

      it is not about newer cars, mine is a 2004 honda crv and it is compliant, but is £395 per year tax, it does not add up, high tax because of emissions but is compliant, HOW.

      Checked on dvla and tfl both say compliant, it is 20 years old so is not exempt as classic as it would need to be 25 years old for that, as I said £395 a year tax due to emissions, makes no sense at all does it.@@martinwebb1681

      If it has an MOT you are able to drive it anywhere you want but not if its EURO emissions standard doesn’t meet the ULEZ requirement, don’t worry though it’s just 12.50 to enable a polluting car to enter the zone, ridiculous but it’s true.

      When the council were talking of bringing in charges in Southampton I emailed the council and said they couldn't possibly do this unless they stop all the cruise and cargo ships form spewing out their filth, stop all the flights to Heathrow/Gatwick and other regional airports flying over my area, close Southampton airport and mover the M27 further away. As all those things cause more pollution than cars travelling into town.

      I and my wife didn't have a car for almost a year. It was far more expensive to use public transport.
      Labour made a big deal about cheap public transport back in 1997. Two jags Prescott was put in charge and absolutely nothing happened!
      He was then moved over and he signed off permission for farmers to sell land for housing, this changed the countryside all along the West Sussex coast where I am.

      this is only the beginning. next will be the housing. we will all live in megacities and in small flats.
      we will have no cars anymore since there will be self driving cars which can be used like taxis.
      thats also why they push computers etc so hard. because its easier to control everything with computers/digital. plus poor people will only be able to afford to live in the virtual world because everything will be really expensive in the real world.
      the next cool thing in housing will be shared flats. just like on their page. imagine you work in the day then naturally you are not in your flat. that means someone who works at night will use your flat while you are at work and so on. thats actually the next big thing that they will push.

    We pay tax on our wages, tax on food, tax on clothes taxed on absolutely everything and after the average wage in the UK what are you left with? We are being blindly robbed and now they want people to pay for the privilege of driving in certain areas. What are they going to do with all this extra money they get from the ULEZ charge?

      Pay per mile has been with us for years - it's called Fuel Duty and VAT - the more miles you travel the more fuel you have to buy the more money goes to government.

    I'm a Londoner and I get black soot up my nose for travelling on the London Underground specifically the northern line for the last 27 years.... Why hasn't the dangerous underground pollution been addressed first... No because the underground would cost billions to clean up🎉 it's the brake dust in the underground that's the concern

    Elderly people will probably die from neglect and loneliness when their friends and visitors can't afford to visit them and they can't afford to get to social events or maybe even medical appointments, but of course this won't make the headlines.
    Used car dealers, on the other hand, will be milking it, buying non-compliant cars with back pocket change, trucking them up North and selling for thousands more. The whole thing is sick.

      So true. Permitted parking did the same. They were marketed as something special for the homeowner, yet they allowed no free access for others to visit that home spontaneously without a penalty for one of them.

    Their own figures say 90% of cars are currently compliant. Most of the 10% will just pay the fee anyway out of necessity. So how is the air going to be cleaner?

    The chap speaking at time point 1.20 was right on the button. One airliner passing over-head dumps massive amounts of pollution into the environment. We now have a low emission zone in Portsmouth. Which is a joke if you take into account the ferries, liners and warships nearby, plus the use of the city as a way point for flight to Heathrow and other airports.

      Not really but if you want to believe it crack on. Pretty sure no one lives at the same altitude as a plane, cars vans and lorries however are pointing exhausts straight at us at ground level. And again more nonsense about shipping, no one lives at sea in vast numbers to be affected by it. This is just more rage porn for angry cockneys.
