- The Czech Crown Jewells were only exhibited 9 times in the 20th century so you never know how many chances youll get to see them. I spent a morning making this video and waiting to see them. It was cold and a long wait but I am glad I did it.
This was actually the old case. I have read they have decided that this time they are gonna exhibit the jewels in the original case, as they have wanted to return to the first-republic tradition. That is also the reason why this time the exhibition was in the cathedral and not in Vladislavský sál as years before.
Thanks for clarifying this, I couldnt find good pictures from previous exhibits so I assumed they didnt go back to the old case by the information I found online. Pinning your comment. Happy New Year
Thanks! Really enjoyed watching this video!
Thanks probably the most fun I had making a video in this one.
This is really interesting. Thank you for getting up early so you could share it.
Thanks for watching!
What a great experience for you. Definitely worth getting up early, handling the cold weather and waiting in the long line. Thanks for bringing us along by video. 😊
Thanks. Happy New Year! Hope your husband is doing better.
@@ThePragueExpat0 thanks, he’s slowly but surely healing. Still on crutches but he can drive now so that’s helpful to me since I hate to drive in this country 😊
Wow, very interesting video. Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you for this video, Im Czech but I didn have time to see the Jewells. The fact that we keep the skull of Wenceslaus and put it on display every now and then is just strange :D
I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to go. It is too bad they only do these exhibitions for one week at a time. None of my wife's family has ever had a chance to go and I know my father-in-law would be interested.
As far as St. Wenceslaus Skull goes it is a bit weird but the way I look at it is they kind of turned the cathedral into a museum for the week and as someone who has been to an exhibit for Egyptian Mummies.. seeing the skull just reminded me of that.
We went the first week it was open and it was cold then too! We waited in line 5 hours and missed our train back to Žamberk 😕
Yeah I went the first week as well. I went on the Friday. Which day did you go? Iv been to Zamberk several times. My wife’s sister lives in Vamberk not too far from there.
Such a unique exhibition, thanks for sharing and happy New Year!
Hope your doing well! Happy New Year!

@@krastycz1810 thanks yea i should be uploading more.
It is the 3rd most valuable and expensive crown jewel in the world as well, as there is a mix of precious stones nowhere to be seen...
Thanks I hadnt read that it is the third most valuable! And boy yes the stones are amazing.
@@ThePragueExpat0 Sorry, I can not find the video about the value of the mix of the stones, so here at least a short explanatory video, from 10:48 : czcams.com/video/0NPjSy2HWeY/video.html
@@viktornovomestsky3999 thanks fell down the rabbit hole and watching the entire video
