- Restoration old ax for 3€. I was once again looking for a new restoration project. I found an old rusty ax on Ebay for €3. The ax head was badly rusted and dented all over. First I removed the handle. Then I sandblasted the ax head. After that everything was sanded until all dents were removed. I wanted the ax to have a really nice sheen. So I polished the ax head long and hard. The old handle broke so I needed a new one. I didn't want to buy a ready-made ax from the hardware store. So I made one myself. When the handle was complete, all that remained was to assemble it. Finally the ax was sharpened.
Thanks for watching. Leave a comment and like.

Verry thanks for the rabbit
Love the leather wrap technique 🧡
Thank you for your comment 😊. The leather wrapping gives the ax a nice finish
i love your pet! its so cute :D of course your work is awesome too!
good restore
Thanks 😊
I am very interested in what you did with the ax, I don't know if it is because of the interesting video you made or because of my interest. Your video was neither too slow nor too fast. I am going to fix an old pickaxe from my grandfather 😊
I really like how you finished the back of the head of the hatchet. Good job!
I heard his mirror at home is so shiny you can see your future 😄

Couldn’t you have added some white glue on the wedge you drove into the top to make it more safer for the axe to bite into the wood?! ! Thank you.
Hello you are right I completely forgot. Fail 😅. The wedge is stuck inside, but some glue wouldn't have hurt.
@@MWRestoration thank you for your reply ! Stay safe .

Ui schön, dann hat das Kaninchen ja auch was von der Axt. Das Einstreu ❤️😘
It occurred to me to mix sawdust with glue that would be very strong and beautiful 😁
It's not a bad idea either 👍
Beautiful 👌
Looks cool, nice job.😊
Magnificent!

good job
You did a GREAT job with the restoration of the axe, but I have to comment on your table saw technique. Since the branch was relatively short, I only cringed a little when you started running it through the saw. What REALLY caught my attention, however, was when you used the miter gauge to square the ends of the board around the 6:40 mark. That small piece of wood that you chopped off between the blade and the fence was ripe for kickback, and you did it TWICE. You are VERY lucky that it didn't catch and get sent hurtling back towards you. Please do a search on "avoiding table saw kickback;" there is a MUCH safer way to do that.
Thanks for your tips, I always like to learn something new. 😊
@@MWRestoration and I cringed a bit when You used the leaflet sanding disc to remove axe's imperfections. It's great to remove alot of material, like when You're flattening welds, but for making this axe as flat and perfect, it works against You. There is a flat sanding paper velctro holder/adapter for angle grinders, and It'll give You the perfect flat plane to work later when polishing. Still a nice work worth the upvote.
Thank you for your comment. I'll test it with the flat sandpaper on the angle grinder. 👍
Top 💓💓💓
Thanks 😊
What's the point of sandblasting just to remove that much material with the grinding , filing and sanding
Saudações do brasil 👌e é muito legal ver voce restaurando varios tipos de coisas 🙂🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Well, someone had an axe to grind
Might want to invest in a draw knife.
I'm surprised that epoxy or wood-glue wasn't used with the wedge when the axe head was fitted to the handle.
From 1 to 10 =7 more work on the medal almost their
Show 👏👏🇧🇷

Hey, been watching some of your older videos and was just wondering when you sand steel and use neodymiums to collect the dust what do you do with it? Do you just have a bigger magnet hidden away to pull it from the smaller one 🤣 . Anyways I was just going to suggest using an em as it will probably be easier on you. P.S. Just the thought of having to fight metal shavings from a neo terrifies me
Loved the bunny. What's their name?
Careful with that axe, Eugene...
😊
Металл же не обработан от коррозии. Снова таким же станет как изначально или нет?
В основном полированные поверхности защищены от коррозии. Но это всегда зависит от состава металла
Is it me or doe sit look like when he is sand blasting it looks like the item is being primed haha
Wrong grain orientation on the handle.
руку смозолишь
намотка совсем ни кчему
только красоту всю портит
is it me or the hatchet is not straight?
What, no band saw? Chisel is OK, but a lot of work.
Unfortunately I didn't have a band saw. I absolutely have to buy one. I used the old traditional method. Which costs a lot of time and energy
@@MWRestoration I have no bandsaw either but would use my jigsaw to cut the shape quickly and accurately. Compliments to you on the beautiful work that you do.
The way you're using the file is wrong
Pls pin
I love most of your videos, but that handle isn't fitted right and its really really bugging me to the point I had to point it out in comments.
I was taught a handle should fit perfectly top/bottom, if you have a gap it will work the wedge out during use or crack the wood.
My father would have beat the crap out of me if I did a handle like that... 30 years on and Trauma, maybe why its bugging me so much.
