Easy to take these kind of videos for granted, but this was so simple, so straightforward, and with excellent instructions!! Thank you!
filling a punching bag wasn't so simple as i thought it would be
It's rare to find a video of such short length filled with so much useful info. Well done. And thanks for the video.
I filled my bag only with sand and wood dust , it held for a good amount of time.
But it then torn up the hanging part.
Now I got exactly the thing I wanted 😍
Thank You Very Much Sir .
Love From India ❤

Thanks. Unbelievbly helpful.
Thanks for the tips, I just bought a leather heavy bag at a swap meet for $15....thanks!!
This is actually a really good idea. Sucks when your bag starts to get to soft
Put more sand
This video was well explained! Thanks
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video, thanks!

Great video simple and perfect 💯
thanks now the police wont find my stuff
Short video, detailed information ✅ perfect
Thank you! Just great!
Great video
I like the short and direct message. I'm gonna follow to fill my 7 ft fairtex bag
Just bought a 6ft Muay Thai bag I have to fill. Hardest part is cutting the cardboard circles
How did it work out?
@@0girle The only problem I had was on the very very top. Honestly I need about five more pairs of pants to pack it really tight up top other than that the bag is great and it feels great to punch and kick the clothes or soft enough it doesn't hurt my knuckles but the sandbags in the middle keep it from moving around too much and it feels hard enough to be realistic
Good tips. Thanks for sharing.
Thx for the video! Your awesome!
Thanks, always wondered how to fill it correctly.
Greatest one ! Many thanks :)
Super helpful.

Danm im lucky i saw this video i didn't not know you can buy empty punching bag it much cheaper thank you for the video 🎉
TnQ sir
Wish I found this video before I filled my whole bag with just sand 🤦🏽♂️
I did the same🤣🤣
me too 😂
i
What's wrong with that?
I think that's better, especially for kicking
That’s probably too hard.
The best
Why didn't I think of this? Seems so simple a concept now, but completely never even remotely considered this idea until now
What type of sand do you use?
Obviously need to be dry sand, do you use more fine sand or coarse? Thanks.
Omg, I was wondering "how de heck am I going to do this"...thank you Sir!
thank you very much,I've been doing it wrong because I fill my punching bag with sand and every punch time I punch my hand hurts😂
How many sand bags of 5pounds should I add as a beginner
My bag came packed but it gets pockets the reviews say that repacking is how they fixed it any tips on how to do that
When he says ull need more then u think he aint joking! Awhile back i got a grappling dummy and filled it with old clothes and i couldnt beleve how many shirts and towels i actually needed! Thank god my parents had a storage locker filled with old ass clothes too musky smelling to give to goodwill. Once filled tho it was actually pretty heavy and was alot closer to a human then ud think
I'd like to add, go to your local garment factory and get tons of shredded fabric. These won't leave any gaps,or create bumps
so what range of weight does a heavy bag have then?
Wow
Where should i put the sand bags???
if the bag says it's 90 lb--can I go over that amount?
We put rice as a base and in the middle. What do you thing about that?
Should have seen it earlier i filled mine half with full sand 🤣
Its so heavy hanging it was a pain and its hard like a wall punching is pain 🤣
Too lazy to do this but will do it next time i fill the bag someday
Can i use saw dust
Could one do this same process with a 300lb bag?
what bag is that in the background
how to i close it when it does not have a zipper, bit instead it provides loops and a string piece of plastic/leather to tie it.
Better is better
Maybe a blanket could work to? In place of the clothes?
Man I wish I saw this video before I payed big money for my made in Thai land bag...
ARE THERE ANY BRANDS TO AVOID? I NOTICED YOU HAD A TITLE BUT I DONT THINK I WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH.
Honestly I always preferred to do it myself for I prefer a bag that feels good on the hands xD i never been a fan of this new trend of bags that feel like literal brick walls. People say it's for "Conditioning" but Idk, i used light soft bags my entire life and never had trouble hurting people in a fight. In my opinion, the main purpose of bags is to just train your body in how to throw a punch or a kick on a resisting object rather than shadow boxing the air which offers zero resistance.
Def agree wot u use for a soft bag
I've worked out on traditional heavy bags czcams.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
Would it be the same for sawdust as an alternative for sand? Is it okay to use a ziploc bag or a trash bag to store sawdust and tape it up then plant it in the middle of the punching bag?
Dawg just use sand. Sand is denser
@@malcolmmascoll8419 if you want to break your hand
@@imadeyoureadthis1500 the sand goes in the middle and you never actually hit it. It just makes the mag not cave in as much and it weights it down so it doesn't swing
@@oliverqueen9075 you know that person didn't watch the video🤣🤣
A guy sold me his punching bag because the straps fell off me and my son fixed them back but we opened the bag up and it had a lot of shredded material soaked with something unsure what it could be but the bag is heavy it doesn't have any sand just the material I'm thinking maybe they soaked it with windshield washer fluid or something
That's how they did it in the old days but now we have better technology and materials.. shredded rubber is by far the best filling material for any striking bag but it takes a while to settle and needs to be encapsulated in a heavy duty contractor garbage bag... sweaters and towels are the very best thing to put in the bottom and top of your bag but the center should be filled with shredded rubber in a contractor grade garbage bag.
why does it need to be encapsulated?
@@jayarmstrong dust off from friction and most heavy bags can't handle pure rubber weight so it has to be mixed with fabric scraps... if you filled a Thai banana bag with nothing but shredded rubber it would be super hard and too heavy to hang however smaller bags under 75 pounds can be mostly rubber... small teardrop and cylindrical bags can be all rubber but once again you should encapsulate it into a contractor grade garbage bags so you're not inhaling rubber particulate dust when you hit the bag... it can puff right out of that zipper
I just get five or six contractor bags and fill them with shredded rubber textile mixed together tie them off and push em down with a baseball bat
@@BURGAWMMA thanks. I'm thinking of filling with 2/3 memory foam, 1/3 rubber mulch, and compacting as much as I can. I definitely want to avoid dust but the foam would help with that
@@jayarmstrong yeah I've looked at memory foam and it seems like a really cool addition however it's expensive for the weight... some type of gelatinous substance would probably be the ultimate resistance. Most people filll heavy bags too hard... sand should never be in your heavy bag
@@BURGAWMMA ahh I meant shredded latex foam. Better option than memory foam but it's hard/impossible to pack it densely. Came in vaccum sealed bags then expanded 4x when opened. 40lbs for $100 from Amazon. Not sure it's worth the cost, mess, or effort at this point. My '70lb' bag will end up weighing 40 - 50lbs
If i don't put in sandbags would it be softer in impact?
yes but you wont get as much of that satisfying crack when you hit the bag
Don’t, don’t use sandbags. Use them. Your knuckles aren’t meant to be hitting like this anyway without training. You see boxers hitting heavy bags bare handed because their hands are use to the punishment you get from hitting a solid surface. Use boxing gloves and wrap your hands for heavy bags
bro, is it possible to do what you did, but the dress I'm going to make is a rice hull, that's what I'm going to put on the side, is it okay, bro?
How many bags of sand would this take???
Hi is it possible to fill the bag while its hanging?
It would be extremely difficult to get it packed properly.
thankyou sir ...
I have had one for about 30yr started to burst at the side I patched it up with duck tape at my age of 71yr it's not worth my while getting a new punch bag I still do bare knuckles planks on a wooden floor every few days , hands up chin down
The sandbags will move to the outside overtime
A question what if i filled it with just water?
ig bc you will have to move if that one ever leaks/breaks😂 honestly, I've wondered the same though, but my dad said I ain't hanging a bag of water in his house bc he has seen many cheap quality punching bags leak which is not a huge issue if it's filled with sand or other stuff, but with water...
how can i prevent from the sand bags moving from the center, some sand bags moved from the center and now you can feel when you hit some areas of the bag :( any idea? i think maybe i can cover every sand bag with a towel to give more padding and the material of the towel is harder to move you know compared to the plastic of the ziploc and the tape
I googled sand weight and it says 1 gallon weighs approximately 12.5 pounds. 5 gallon home depot bucket is like 68 pounds. Lot of clothes and sand will be needed for 90-100 pound heavy bag. Danish butter cookies cost like $3 and the size is 7.5" round and 2.25" high. Heavy bag is like 14" wide. I eat those cookies a lot so I will save those tins. I am considering putting sand in them and taping it up. Put them in the center. I think they will stay centered better than ziploc bags and probably less chance in settling down to the bottom. Another easier option? I also got big empty 5 pound jugs of whey protein powder that is also like 7.5" wide but 11.5" height. Maybe stack 2 or 3 whey jugs (like 2 or 3 feet long) with sand and just tape them together to create one big heavy oval centered core? I am trying to think of a better way to apply the sand so it stays centered with the clothes. 🤔
Danish butter cookies? Interesting...
Can I only just use shirts? And instead of sand can I use dirt?
just buy sand. theyre cheap
What happens if you fill a heavy bag with non-newtonian fluid?? I've been looking for a video like that and yet no one has done it
Smart idea actually
I filled whole with sand and got fingers hurt 😢
