In all the years i've been doing this, i've never seen or watched someone fill a punchbag. This is absolutely superb
👍🏼🥊
Fiberglass insulation has glass particles that can be airborne and get into your lungs. That's why professionals that install r-15 insulation wear a n-95 respirator. Make sure you wipe down the bag and make sure there are no holes (to prevent glass particles becoming airborne).
Thanks brother
That was my concern as well. Seems like a great idea but I'm doubting particles will not come out when you start pounding that bag . Not sure it's safe.
@@audaxartsmartiaux4027 exactly what I was thinking.
Better off going to Salvation Army/Goodwill for $45 and buy some shitty cheap clothes
I've worked out on traditional heavy bags czcams.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
Love how this man puts in the effort for a demonstration.
Those 12 thousand subs u got aren’t a coincidence😉
Thanks bro

Time for a recheck

Thanks homie
Thanks for all the effort you put into these videos! I have been working out at commercial gyms for years but covid caused me to start a home gym. Im currently adding a speed and heavy bags to my equipment and your demos and reviews are extremely helpful!! Thanks so much!!
No prob!
Really good job on this instructional video, dude. I'm finally putting together my speed/heavy bag setup. I have tons of old clothing so I'll be going that route (currently cutting through old jeans and sweat shirts). I really liked the inclusion of the sand bags for weight. Thanks!
Thanks bro
This is brilliant i was trying really hard on figuring out how to do this thank you!
Thanks!
A real no nonsense how to demo, what great initiative . I have been trying to figure out an alternative to cotton rags and sand for the three work out bags i brought back with me unfilled from thailand. You need like an elephant sized mountain of rags to fill one bag its ridiculous and this makes it a lot easier sire so thank you for posting something constructive and sharing with us
No prob!
yo keep the good content up,finally a honest and humble youtuber
Thanks man
Great video sir. I have the same bag as an addition to my banana and bowling bags, but it came like that with no padding around the interior. I was disappointed but now after seeing you use insulation this way I’m set to get it done today. Thanks for the video it is much appreciated, brother.
No prob thanks as well
Great review bro. I recently purchased a Nazo heavy bag because of your great review and I was wondering how to fill it, thanks for your tutorial today! I swear you can read minds. Stay sharp 🥊
Thanks bro
Good work mate, thanks for the tips im nearly due to refill my bag myself 🔥
Thanks man
Really good idea, was struggling to find some more old clothes to fill my bag, will definitely give this a try.

Truly amazing. I appreciate you, your time in making this video.

Great advice. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you heaps for the demonstration very educational. Take care.
Thanks!
csquaredboxing I am going to try and use your method (or similar to get my own boxing bag installed at home). I have a handyman that can probably do it. Besides sand what else can I use or is it better just to use the sand and the bags? I can just go to any hardware store to purchase the sand couldn’t I? Take care.
Your videos are super informative. Great work!
Thanks!
my god thank you.. have had this empty heavy bag just lying around. didnt know what material to get, was about to get memory foam
No prob
Dont do it, fiberglass is bad for your lungs, unless you know your bag is 100% airtight...they usually arent, this will give you emphysema and wreck your lungs
@@fritjofvalerijs800 I’m good I stuffed my heavy bag with old clothes blankets and sand bags, also didn’t expect this comment to get so many likes.
@@csquaredboxing I put a sandbag at the bottom then a 70 mm PBC pipe filled with sand in the middle and stuffed old rags and clothes around it.
@@MrVirgilVox brilliant idea is the pipe used to give a bag a bit of posture and hold it all up right ?
Thank you for this!!

Much better then what I did. Fill it with lose sand to the top. Which made it impossible to hang - if you could even lift it. It’s currently in my garage on the floor and weighs over 300lbs easily. Which is what brought me here.
Carpet pad makes a good liner and gives the bag a nice smooth feel. I asked a carpet guy doing a new install if he usually has some leftover pad after the install. He said yes and I stopped by later and he gave me more than enough. You can line the bag with several layers then fill the middle with weight, or you can use nothing but carpet pad. Depending on the feel you’re going for. I built a bag with nothing but tightly rolled carpet pad (it was really compressed, it’s a two man job) covered with a layer of duct tape. It was tight and hard work getting it in the bag, but once I got it inside the bag, it hit great. It works well for me.
Using carpet pad as a liner, prevents the bag from looking lumpy.
One more thing... This particular bag was a canvas military duffel bag. I paid $5 for the bag and the pad was free. I wanted an old school bag. I did it for grins, but I ended up with a nice hitting bag. You don’t always have to spend a lot of money to get a good workout. It hits better than some of my expensive bags.
thanks for the advice
Love this just bought one I needed this
No prob thanks
Great tips . Many thanks!!
Thanks
thanks bro! just bought the same bag (5ft Jayefo) on amazon. Should be arriving today.

Great video. Thanks. I'm planning on getting a 6ft bag unfilled (Because I live in Hawaii and shipping is expensive.) so this was very helpful.

Excellent well done. Very helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
I actually got my heavy bag today and used your idea by putting insulation and sand bags it’s actually pretty good, it’s very soft on the knuckles.
Nice!
I just finished filling my Jaefo bag too. I used old clothes but I may redo it with the old clothes and some bricks we havent used in a long time.
Nice!
Bricks! Those I have. Rocks too. The clothes I have, I was trying to figure a way for weight without sand bags. All good though.
For the algorithm, and you also make great videos
🥊
BROTHER this video and the video on how to hang the NAZO bag have really helped me , thank you much love from Pakistan

I love how you spin around and just restart and not edit it out lol I just repacked my bag for the second time. After I go a couple rounds it'll probably settle and fill in nicely
Lol said screw it let them see it
Great video
Thanks
Great video, thank you. The link for the insulation goes to a $149 product. Did you get a smaller amount then what’s linked? Do you know how much you actually used?
Love all the content you’re putting out homes!! Keep it coming 🥊

Thank you this video was vary helpful!! I’m a beginner and was hoping the get my own bag but didn’t know how to fill it.
Haha
I'm going to buy everlast boxing bag unfilled thanks for your video it helps me 🙂
No prob
lol, the spin when you planned on cutting the scene at the end made me laugh. I could feel the frustration
Lmao
I did this months ago. It would pay to buy a bag with padding already stitched into the inner. The individual sand bags are a staple. Uniformity and slightly more firm than one thinks. Great editing. There was nothing wrong with your first version. ;) You need some other fill than insulation and sand. A clothing like substance or something similar to break up the consistency. Physics and gravity. (A theory is, there is no gravity but, just the bending of space time and objects fall with no attraction) The sand will try to find the closest point to the Earth's core. In layman terms: sand will fill the open spots it can fit into at the lowest point of the bag. So, over time it is necessary to have a break up or stop gap/dam filler, so the sand won't meander down to the bottom of the bag or within the first seconds of filling it.
Thanks for the info brother
Rubber mulch?
How much of the R15 did you use? Hoping you had a bunch left over.
I’m looking at Home Depot and it’s $150 now! Lol wondering if I can go with the a 15x32 in roll for $23.
Great video! I was wondering if there is any way to make it firmer? I prefer the more firm bags when I used to work out at my gym, but I don't have the cash to buy a Nazo bag (as much as I wish I could). Any suggestions?
Use old clothing or towels and really pack it densely
Great video and channel! Will using rubber mulch instead of sand improve the filling of the heavy bag? The idea is that rubber mulch is less heavy than sand, so it it would require less of the much softer insulation filling.
Yes rubber mulch is great as long as you can find it in larger quantity and not too expensive
Excellent video! I took your advice on the sand / insulation combination bag fill approach. I plan to fill up the bag tomorrow. One question I do have is whether or not kicking the bag with Muah Thai style kicks is possible? I plan to incorporate Muah Thai boxing into my weekly workout regiment. Thanks again for the informative video. Just gave it a thumbs up...;-)
Yes you can
is sand + insulation outer a good idea for bags i will be kicking, ive seen a lot of people say sand will kill shins jus curious if the insulation outer would solve that issue?
Really dangerous to be using insulation for this, not the best advice, use clothes, don’t permanently damage your lungs guys.
most insulation now don’t have dangerous chemicals etc for your lungs none of them really contain aspestos but it depends what type you buy to be honest
Just look for the “asbestos-free” insulation.
Bundles of clean rags can be had at most industrial supply stores. Fibreglass insulation should not be used.
It's not really a problem if your bag is well sealed. I put some insultation in the middle of the heavy bag. Then covered it with sand bags and other rags. I agree to an extent however, I wouldn't fill my heavy bag with just insulation.
God bless you all
Same to you
Hey Carlo. Another quality video. Always in depth & honest. I'm debating on a 5ft vs 6ft heavy bag. I train in kickboxing & muay thai but I love the footwork & pivots of boxing. I do want the bag to swing so I can pivot around but also long enough for low kick. I am 6 foot, 220lbs. Thoughts??
I dunno would it help you or not,but i do muay thi and i use 6 feet bag,i am 5'8"
use something similar to height or taller so preferably a 6 footer.
I'm wondering if blow in insulation would be easier or cheaper. It's the same stuff but it's shredded up
Another A+ vid! any suggestions on Restoring a heavybag? the stitching at seams of nylon strapping it hangs from is starting to fray and tearup the polyvinyl bag-skin... its a cheapo ~70lbs nEverlast - should I bother to restitch it or just wrap it in duct-tape until its dead?
Probably just duct tape, can’t really restore a synthetic leather bag, would probably cost more in the long run and be a pita. Leather would be like any other leather, clean, condition, and try to rejuvenate assuming it’s not completely beyond repair
Good video how bad did you itch after
Thanks for the great video. What is the approximate weight of the insulate you used?
No prob
Nice
👍🏼🥊
How much sand bags and insulation do you think you will need for a 120 cm bag
Hi i live in the UK and we dont have that brand of home insulation . Do you know what other types of insulation to use ? And how much to buy
are fiberglass fragments going to leak out at some point?
carlo fantastic how you did that with your filling method, would this work on this bag Fairtex Genuine Super Tear Drop Muaythai Boxing Heavy Bag HB15 UNFILLED i want to use it for hooks and any insulation this size 15 in. x 93 in. because the one you linked now is 149.00 wow
Great video. I'm looking to purchase a bag and fill it myself. I'd love to use the same materials you used to fill yours. Since it's been over a year, how is the firmness of the bag? Has it compacted a bit more to your liking?
Yes it has
🔥🔥
🙏🏽🥊
@csquaredboxing Does that particular 5ft bag you have in the video include a D ring at the bottom?
Yes
Late to the party as usual but i just filled mine for my 10 yrs old son. Used carpet padding, sredded paper from my work sredder and used the sand bag techigue. Packed it in tight and its heavy but not too heavy and soft enough not to damage his joints while punching.
Can I only add sand in the boxing bag?
If not then whey
Does the insulation have fiberglass in it? I rather avoid that for itchy and getting cancer. Did you pack down the other layers of insulation besides the bottom one with the broom handle?
I'm looking to do exactly this but also I'm using it for muay Thai so ill be putting it through kicks elbows and knees as well, Does this insulation tactic still work for that?
Yes it will
I’m thinking the same thing but I was told to fill a pvc pipe with sand in the middle and wrap the insulation around the pipe in the bag.
That’s a good idea as well
Im going to do this but i think ill cut the insulation into smaller pieces to be able to fill the sides of the bag better, cool video man
🥊👍🏼
What is the best unfilled heavy bag with the best quality?
Re: Leather, Genuine Leather is industry speak for "Leather dust bonded together with resin". Full grain is natural leather and very thick, like quarter inch or 7mm. Top grain in made by splitting the top of full grain leather from the bottom, which becomes known as Split Grain leather which is often patterned and sealed. The dust made during these operations is what they make Genuine Leather from.
Thanks!
Great video. What length is the bag? I want something that's long enough for both punches and kicks.
5 ft
Great video, I got a quick question if anyone knows the answer. I'm thinking about buying a 7' Muay Thai bag, would this be too soft for kicks? Now granted I don't want it to feel like I'm hitting a cement wall
It would be good for kicks
Would you recommend this version for kicks on a 6 foot bag?
Sure
