    Just got done watching it. In my opinion, this is better than those demon/ghost haunted house movies that seem to litter horror nowadays. This one's creepy because a seemingly everyday, couldn't-pick-him-out-of-the-line-at-the-register human is the threat. It's not one of those times where you can reassure yourself that, "Oh this isn't real. This is just Hollywood make belief." No. People like Josef are out there, and there's no way of knowing it until you spend time with them.

    *SPOILER*
    People are pissed off about Aaron not looking behind him before he got axed. And most of the time you would be right, in that after all of the creepy shit he was put through, and all the lies and deceiving, there's no way you should trust him. But understand that this "creep" is also smart in that he realized that Aaron is in fact lonely himself and has very low self-esteem. He shows this with his "peeing in his pants" story. So in the last video he basically "relates" to Aaron and shows him that he's also fucked up and just needs companionship. So Aaron "understands" and trusts him. He puts his phone on speed dial for 911 and has the camera, but I think Aaron was hoping so much that the creep would actually sit and chat with him, because the heart in the rock thing really did mean something to him...
    Then he gets axed...

    @franciscotelles-leon3641 Před 9 lety +168

    Is this movie gory and super violent? No. The true terror that comes from this film is how real it all seems and how easily someone can be put into this situation. It shows us that a human being can be something completely different than what they show to the world. It's creepy as hell and the ending will give you goosebumps. I would recommend this to anyone who can appreciate the horror of the mind more than actual violence. That being said this movie is definitely not for everyone and I can understand why some people don't like it. If you hate movies like the Blair witch project it's probably not for you.

But what caught me off guard was that this is one of the most realistic found footage movies I have ever seen. Honestly, I have seen so many horror movies and this film just gave me such a weird vibe when it was over. Like my mind was just, wandering and trying to make myself comfortable after that. Just because nude people in movies is very rare doesnt mean it's bad for the movie, in fact if used correctly it greatly improves characters and the story. I think you should have instead written weird for your personal experience, not idiotic.

It's been a long time that a movie is so creepy like this, that it really did something to me... like always watching behind you after meeting a weird stranger.... (people who've watched it, know what i mean).

    Surprisingly solid movie. The story is believable, and the acting is phenomenal, especially with respect to Mark Duplass. It has some slow moments, and the jumpscares are stupid and unnecessary, but the overall tension and build-up were nicely done. The twist was also enjoyable, if predictable.

    The trailer needs some work. A guy running around in a wolf mask just isn't scary, and to make it worse this film (In the trailer) is using ear shattering noises to make up for the lack of horror.

    • @kuidadokoko
      @kuidadokoko Před 9 lety +2

      Merchant Ivory well, i think its kind of cool that some people rellay in a script, sound, elightment, and who knows maybe a cheap wolf mask to make you feel scared instead of fake blood or chainsaws or sci fi effects. i dunno man i tought it was a pretty cool, well made movie.

    • @rike94
      @rike94 Před 8 lety +3

      Merchant Ivory I dare you to say that after you've seen the film. I mean, how would you make a trailer of it? Advertising as a normal found footage horror would be cheap and also not true, and advertising as a comedy would still not work. I think the best way is to make a weird trailer, because it is a weird film

    • @kuidadokoko
      @kuidadokoko Před 8 lety +1

    • @GamerMinilla
      @GamerMinilla Před 5 lety +11

      I actually wouldn't really call the jumpscares "cheap" in this flick. Cheap jumpscares, at least imo, are jumpscares that add nothing to the film and just the directors way of getting a reaction out of the Audience and nothing more (See, loud noise, but it turns out to be a harmless cat).
      The Jumpscares in Creep, however, I find almost integral to the plot, because they're all perpetuated by Josef. He's not trying to make the audience jump, he's trying to make _Alex_ jump, which not only is effective in that split second terror, but also adds tension in that one of those jumpscares might just be the one where Josef maims Alex (granted yes, the final kill wasn't a jumpscare, and the final jumpscare was probably the "cheapest" out of all of them, but that's just what I take from it).

    Saw the movie just now. Really enjoyed it! :) It's not your typical horror film. The jump-scares themselves are intended to be dark humor more than actual jump-scares. In fact, I found myself pissed off at this guy each time he got me, LOL. It quickly became apparent why it's called 'Creep' LOL. The premise is the real spooky/uneasy factor here. So while horror buffs may be disappointed by the lack of typical horror tropes, I think you'll still come away from this film with unease. I was so worried this film would start strong and end on a flat note. That, or the ending resorts to typical horror cliche. But the ending was actually very good and refreshing.
    To be honest, I thought the trailer here did a good job. There is a lotta campy fun here, which was why I gave the film a shot. It's campy with a bit of freshness. The trailer kinda reflects. It's demonstrates a bit of how this horror film plays things very tongue-and-cheek.
    Overall, I definitely recommend it. I've watched so many horror films that it's hard to find ones that either stick out or plays out horror tropes in a refreshing way. :)

    It's a good movie if you're looking for a disturbing horror without excessive gore or paranormal entities. Don't let the trailer put you off, its been really badly marketed. There are no actual dramatic orchestral jumpscares in the actual film. It's more of a psychological thriller than a big budget Hollywood horror.

    I’ve seen some bad reviews for this, which genuinely confuses me. The way “Josef” speaks and manipulates is so real. I KNOW people that do it the way he does. Admit to your mistakes, create an illusion of willingness to improve, and then bait them into thinking you’ll actually get better. It’s so *real* and it’s horrifying. The entire movie had me shifting uncomfortably, trying to calm myself but not knowing what to think about anything. And the way he manipulates you as well. I genuinely believed him at the end, when he said he was ready to own up to his mistakes, and I KNEW he was lying but the way he did it made me still for some reason think he had good left in him and that makes me realize just how realistic Aaron’s response was. Watching this through without falling for his ploys makes it seem like Aaron is just a fool falling into an obvious trap but when you let yourself fall into them on purpose to see what happens it feels so much more immersive. The directors knew what they were doing. They created an incredible psychological horror, and the most horrific thing is the very real possibility of this happening to anyone out there including you
