and this is one of the very first shows ive seen a flamethrower just burning up and weakening straight up the antagonist instead of powering them up or something
People think it's weird that this Demogorgon is so strong compared to the one from Season 1. This is a trained Demogorgon, who has months of experience fighting and killing strong Russian men. It knows how to dodge different weapons and how to overwhelm its victim. The Demogorgon in Season 1 used more of a hunting technique, rather than an aggressive one. It was quieter and slower, using the scent of blood to find its prey. In addition, it was not always its goal to eat something, but also to put eggs in a living creature for new Demogorgons, like it did with Will.

Spears are pretty terrifying to fight against. There's a reason why they're one of the oldest weapons in the hominid arsenal. Chimps have even been known to fashion crude ones when their troops go to war against one another. Back before the widespread implementation of metal tips, Mesolithic hunter-gatherer tribes would sometimes use burning spears to hunt ancient megafauna. The combination of pointed weapons and fire would cause these megafauna to hold back from counterattacking against their hunters due to not wanting to be burned or stabbed. I imagine the creature had a similar experience with fire and, knowing there was a sharp object within that fire, it didn't want to chance either or both injuries.
I love how the Duffer brothers knew what they where thinking bringing demo back with that much hype, especially Hopper fighting one. Never will I be so hyped over a show in my life
The entire time while watching I pointed out to myself how human the demogorgon was acting like how the demogorgon knew to rip the door off the hinges instead of clawing at or banging on it until it broke or how the demogorgon knew to use it’s surroundings as weapons like how he bashed that one dude’s head into the top of the wall instead of just going for him This really shows the evolution of the demogorgons and how dangerous they will become if they get more intellect in the future

the demo and the demodogs were not under the control of vecna because the Russian scientists made the particles leave them and trapped them in a room surrounded by heaters, so this is the demo at full power without being held back by vecna.
the particles found the dogs and demogorgon and flayed them after the demogorgon broke free, so only prior to the demogorgon escaping is it free of any influence
@@KOOLEESON I still think the Russians have Demogorgons despite what Season 4 says, they were keeping Demogorgons in suspended animation at various stages of their life cycle, there would absolutely be some remaining slugs and frogs since we both don't see any get torched and likely would not have the capacity to be in the plot relevant locations. so even if S5 ends with the mind flayer being killed and all of the Upside down being destroyed, there's still going to be some upside down remnants on earth
It kind of unsettles me that only Hopper and Dmitri survived, because in a way it seems like it’s trying to make us not care about the other prisoners. Though I understand that not all of them are gonna be so lucky, but it would’ve been better if a couple of the other prisoners ran behind Hopper while he shielded them from the demogorgon like he did with Dmitri. After those prisoners got through the door with Dmitri and Hopper they could’ve escaped with them to Yuri’s place (The van can hold about 6 people in the back). Though as they’re not central characters to the main story we wouldn’t have needed any focus on them after that. But it would’ve been great to have it implied they went home after safe and sound, and free from the torture they suffered in the prison and from the worry of becoming demogorgon food.

Something that I liked about season 3 - 4 is that the characters had to face their fears and keep improving there skills for the many attacks that vecna put on them, even when there loved ones weren’t there anymore they turned that anger into “fuel” to fight these dark creatures with whatever they had. They had to change that mindset of when they were younger people so that they could defeat vecna and his army.

He literally tore the other prisoners apart.
With Hopper he bit off more than he could chew.
People like to talk about the fact that it’s because of the fire that hopper could kill it and I like to think no one could because everyone had really bad edge alignment when they swung the sword so it wouldn’t cut 😂😂

some people said that it's weird that this demogorgon was so much better at fighting compared to the one in season 1. we have to think about it. the upside down is extremely cold and creatures from the upside down do not like heat. this thing is being held in siberia. it's in its natural climate, so it's going to be much more comfortable and capable
That's the coolest flame thrower I've have ever seen
