Bro these trumpers aren’t bright. Bringing bullets to another country is insanity.

It is mind blowingly irresponsible to have stray bullets floating around anywhere. I am a gun owner and cant fathom not knowing exactly how and where all ammunition is secured. This is the second guy that did this that also has small kids at home, too.

Better check your bags. Other countries have strict laws. Best to educate yourself, before traveling!

My fellow Americans don't seem to understand something basic. The pervasive adoration of guns in the USA is unique to the USA. Other countries don't allow everyone to carry weapons concealed or openly or haul around ammunition. Guns smuggled from the USA to Mexico has created the deadly cartels and no one else wants to risk that development in their country. For that reason they are very strict about enforcing their laws.

how is it that all these Americans end up with ammo in their bags? No other country on earth, not UK, Japan, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Sweden, Turkey, Poland, Australia has a problem with so many of its citizens getting caught with ammo in their bags when visiting the Caribbean. HOW HOW HOW?!?!?!?!??! Why is it only one nationality? One country?

Because other countries don't seem to care about stray bullets in your luggage. So it's never reported. On the other hand this country does.

@@SergioMedina593 Other countries dont have to report it, the nation in which the tourist is in reports it. Then it makes news in the tourist's home country because they are facing arrest. It seems you are confused about reporting procedures.

In 1994, a court in Singapore sentenced an American teenager, Michael Fay, to be lashed six times with a cane for violating the Vandalism Act. After spending 83 days in jail, he was released early on 21 June on grounds of good behavior, and left Singapore for the US the next day. In the US the kid would have been given a sentence of community service hours and fined instead of jailed and whipped with a cane; know the laws of the country you are visiting or you can be spending years in prison!

The guy who only got 6-months in prison was before they changed their laws and made it a mandatory 12 year minimum sentence.

When in Rome…. American privileges don’t carry over to other countries. It’s irresponsible, shouldn’t be allowed to be a weapon owner if he can’t keep track of his ammo. You don’t get to commit a crime and say oops it’s a mistake. I’m sure he’ll get away with it anyway but the inconvenience is his punishment.
