You are right, do not be a blind follower but have courage to ask the same questions to your favorite govt as well. All that 40 % commission allegation was literally hogwash because I am witness to increase bribe amount for same work in a registrar office. the amount jumped 25% upon change in govt. quite ironical

Karnataka does not have good leadership to lead state BJP like Annamalai in TN. Thejasvi should concentrate state BJP instead of contesting for Loksaba. He is the only hope for Karnataka's growth. Yedurappa is really tired and weak, its not fair to ride on Yedurappa for state BJP. Rest all old wines should retire from leadership position and endorse Thejasvi to lead state BJP. Cannot trust any alliance in the state, all are back biters and become king makers using BJP's hard work. In Karnataka milk rates house tax has been increased exorbitantly after election of Vidhan sabha. Just for freebies and lies of congress karnataka people voted for them.

Madam I'm a proud bangalorian. I can clearly tell you that kannadiga speaks kannada in the first place to a stranger. Next sentence would be in Hindi followed by other south languages. I know many friends from Hindi belt who are here since decades and don't know a word of kannada. They are happy.
I don't think someone living for a decade in Begaluru who can't speak Kannada is a good thing. Me as a Marathi person would love to learn Kannada if I happen to live in Bengaluru. We can consider 1-2 years time for people to learn the language. I went to Santi Niketan for 3 days and could learnt 4 Bengali phrases. My cousin did 3 years masters from Mysuru can speak fluent Kannada. Living for 5-10 years and still people don't know Kannada is a clear indication that people are not respecting and embracing the diversity of this country. Language is the basis of a culture. If we can't preserve the language, we'll loose our culture eventually. The reason why Bangladesh is a different country is because Mohammed Ali Jinha tried to impose Urdu in the then East Pakistan which was predominantly a Bengali speaking region.

You are saying it like every person who does not speak Kannada sits in his /her home and thinks i will never learn Kannada as i do not have any respect for Karnataka. You have lot of things going on in your life. People leave their home and come to a different city for job as they have lot of responsibility. Also once you have reached a certain age it is difficult for you to learn a language that you did not speak from childhood. How can anyone who comes here for work will not have respect for Karnataka. This place gave livelihood to us. But as Hindi imposition is wrong, same way imposition of any other language is also wrong.

@@nidhijha5998 Agreed when people leave their home its difficult for them. Even I have left my home. But did you read my comment? I said we can consider 1-2 years for people to get settled. I never expect tourists, students or job seekers to immediately learn the new language. But if you interact with local people (auto wala, chai wala, sabzi wala), you don't need to shell out separate time to learn language. And please don't tell me in 2 years you won't encounter a single local person. People can learn German and French when shifting to Europe, but they are not ready to learn our own languages? And these people are not kids, they are adults who can learn European languages but not Indian languages. These are just excuses. I see a clear lack of will power. I see people are not concerned at all about the local culture of the region where they are shifting for job opportunities. I'm concerned about the lack of intent not the time they need to learn.
Answer to your 2nd question. I never said we should impose Kannada, Tamil or Marathi in Delhi, UP, Bihar. There, I'll encourage their local languages. Remember, I'm not against Hindi. Hindi is a beautiful language. But so are the other languages that need to be treated equally and preserved for the sake of originality of the regions. When one shifts to a certain region, he can take his time but learning a local language is the most sensible thing.
@@rajeshkumarpanda7057 First thing should be made clear, physical abuse should not be tolerated in any way. So I will never support who beat others. That being said I'll always stand for all the languages of my country. (not just Kannada) I think each language of each region should be preserved because it is our cultural heritage. It is our originality. And onus of preserving the language is unto everyone who lives in that region. (native and outsiders all alike) You equated this with example of China. I think there are many geopolitical factors at play as to why China is loosing its appeal and it's definitely not a Chinese language. Trying to preserve language and culture is not an act of ego, but an act of survival in the larger scheme of global presence. Our roots and originality is the way we stand apart and tall from others in the world. Loosing our languages means loosing our roots and becoming slaves to others.

It seems to me that the unbridled hatred and animosity of a section towards Prime Minister Modi is a symptom of a kind of mental illness. When I was writing for the Congress, I also mocked Modi. Sorry about that. Modi is neither a superhero nor a Siddha. An ordinary man. He interacts with people in his native language. People accept words spoken from the heart. So the people elected him Prime Minister. He did not seize power or run for parliament. Those who accept democracy should also accept Modi as Prime Minister. I think the stand of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in this regard is welcome.
The BJP will also win the 2024 parliamentary elections. He is one hundred percent sure that he will come to power. No other party. The Congress is on the verge of taking and not putting. The Congress will gradually disappear. Sonia Gandhi has long been entrusted with the task of helping the party. It is true that independence was achieved and India was built.
