This actually makes me wonder if it's the age old "people want drama" rather than just clickbait. So many TV shows have used drama to draw viewers, and it's expected with some. My example is from Discovery Channel's Orange County Choppers show, the drama between father and son. That certainly drew a lot of viewers to the show.. NASCAR even used drama at one point to draw in spectators. That being said, this video with no thumbnail and the answer to life, the universe and everything as the title was certainly a draw. Our history tells us, without doubt, that the public wants drama. Clickbait is just one way to express that drama.

Hadn't seen that before but I also like your channel so when I saw who posted it I probably would have watched regardless, but that's just me, I' don't give a shit about click bait, if I get bored, I leave the video, if not, I stay. Being disappointed is more important to me than the "lie". There are some popular CZcamsrs that use clever titles and thumbnails but the content is poor and disappointing. In contrast, John Heisz videos always add value regardless of the title or thumbnail. If you use clickbait to increase viewership and it works, we all win.
