I don't fw Bassy at all. He acts as if everyone else is to blame. He rode on the coattails of being Stephon Marbury's cousin and the LeBron hype train, but in reality, he wasn't particularly outstanding and doesn't rank among the top 10 NYC point guards. He's not superior to anyone I have listed below:
Stephon Marbury
Nate Archibald
Kenny Anderson
Kenny Smith
Mark Jackson
Rod Strickland
Pearl Washington
Rafer Alston
Kemba Walker
Lance Stephenson
It's always the majority of comments regarding Stephen Jackson. He really needs to stop getting on IG and going on rants and always have nothing to do with him. Not a bad podcast at all but he is a real issue with a lot that watch the podcast.
The next Bassie interview I want them to press him more about the mistakes he made, the people he hung out with and how his career could of been better to see if he will take accountability
Props to Matt Barnes for being the guy that called telfair out on his bullshit
when?
you need to start a hedge fund...facts!
@@hakeem6060 They clearly was scared to challenge him
Facts
Sebastian Telfair doesn’t come off as the most rational or reflective guy. Kudos to Matt Barnes for taking a step back on this one. That shows personal growth on his part.
Stack & Matt’s whole energy was like hurry up with this interview this man chattin
Right. They gave him the platform because of the social media interaction but they weren’t really engaged in the interview
He says the same shit every interview. It was a pointless interview really. Should have done this a couple years ago.
2 things I’ve learned: not everyone understands the word accountability, and I’m blessed I have zero friends who say “facts” over and over again.
Facts😂
Street language calm down
@@BodiggsAkaTheVoicemoron language
Man this interview is intense. Didn’t expect this.
Why you say they ain't wana do it they stay that's they bro
That intense convo fucked up Matt’s ENTIRE vibe! Mans was DONE after that🤣🤣
I SWEAR I don’t think I’ve ever heard Matt this stagnant in an interview.😂 that nigga RET TO GO😂
Man i think it happened when he made the slick “i know you ain’t ever had yo on shoe” and “you can speak on what you know” comments that through off the vibe. Like dawg having a shoe isn’t finna just make you an all time great player. It’s enter in you or it’s not. SIMPLE
When stack said we was shootin he was really sick 😂
@@couragegvo5119 which was a DUMB ASS comment to begin with cuz Jordan MADE Nike who they are now. Nike didn’t make Jordan…They was at 5 cent a stock and nobody would sign with them cuz they were new and Mike took a chance on them and here we are today. This high key was a bad interview man.
Facts cuz he didn't make no sense sayin thru wouldn't be them if they wasn't in Nike or Jordan
This manz still mentally stuck in 2002-2004 🤣🤣that's wild
Yea tell that to the ppl that came back to accuse bill cosby . Same thing right
Telfair is bitter as hell. Whether he got taken by Adidas or not (we dont know the deal) but to say others wouldnt be who they are without the shoes deals is off. Those deals gave them prominence, yes, but as Matt said they still would be ballin’, still would be stars and getting bank and these deals later
You are so right. He is filled with excuses. All of these major sports apparel brands have clauses in their contracts that say your contract is void in the instance of conduct detrimental to the brand. None of these guys can be involved in crimes and expect to be a Nike player or adidas player.
@@AABrawnI see what you are saying but I think Lebron does have a little more bravado about himself because he’s looked at as that guy. Also I think he was saying the money was a sense of certain when it’s taken away now he’s kinda back in scramble mode. But the reason they took it away was all his fault. Whether they could legally take it away is another story and he should get a lawyer for that lol
Sebastian actually has it backwards, especially when it comes to MJ. Mike is the one who made Nike what it is today....not the the other way around.
Right, we're all just going to act like these elite athletes at the top of their profession just became who they are known as today due to shoe deals. This tells me Sebastian never had that professional mentality and once he faced endorsement adversity, he fell apart.
Na bro youre not about to tell me that a guy making $40 million a year with a $80 million dollar shoe contract is going to have the same swag and confidence as a a guy making $5 million a year with no shoe contract. And that’s all Bassy is saying
This dude is the epitome of peaked in high school energy
You just don’t get it lol
What does he not get? Bassy did peak in high school
@@MrDinocizmicwym lol he literally did.
Brutal to listen to this guy
Lance Stephoson and Brandon Roy would be GREAT to have on your show...
Born Ready
need more interviews with hoopers from the 2000s, the best era imo. needa get broy, danny granger, marion, jrich on here
J Nasty Pause he was da 1 not the 2
Facts definitely the best era of ball.
Danny Granger fashoo
Factss the best thing I heard today 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Nate Roberson for sure!!
Matt Barnes was fed up w this interview 39 mins in....never seen Stack have to carry an interview this much 😂
Sebastian Telfair's Through The Fire documentary never gets old for me especially the ending when he's drafted.
I can’t find it nowhere

Matt quiet as hell u kno he ready to slam bassy on his back through the table lmao😂
Matt high bro lol
@@davidgrajo1105Matt is always high brotha but rarely is he this quiet 😂😭
Matt quiet knowing he didn’t come out of high school on a cover with Bron, then had a life changing contract violated which he couldn’t recover from or know how to dispute as a teenager. It’s levels for real.
Don't nobody tow the line between confidence and arrogance like a NY 🥷🏾🤣🤣
“I ain’t throwing him the ball” 😂😂😂😂😂 IYKYK
Bassy is a cautionary tale. He’s so stuck back on his HS glory he can’t take accountability for how his immaturity led to him losing the adidas deal and not sticking with an NBA team for more than 2 years. Adidas didn’t force him to get into the street nonsense as a professional athlete. I hope he finds some peace & accountability
Facts dude corny as hell with some of these outlandish takes
He sounds so damn salty this whole interview. It was hard to keep up with what he was even trying to explain
Imagine having everything handed to you on a platter, sans the actual on-court work ! I’m sure he regrets his choice of who he married more than anything! He has an amazing pension.
Perfectly said!
😂😂😂😂😂
This guys energy is mad funny bro salty bc he didn’t become one of them ones
no, he speaking his truth.
same way you would if folk gave a fuck about you
Bassy is one of them ones your craxy
Had respect for Bassie but my boy hasn't grown up mentally. As a new yorker he sounds like the typical NY hooper that still sour about how his career unfolded.
I get where you coming from! I feel the same way
I feel you. My boy seems to be playing the blame game. Personally he got too much too early & didn’t have to correct people around him. Now that he’s an adult the regret of fucking off that money & the damaged relationship with people got my boy out here salty. Another one of these other interviews he blamed Marbury for some shit.
A little immature, like trying to yell ppl down and dressing like he's 15 but you can tell his head is on straight in regards to finances and helping his community
Not really he said he should laugh ab his career cuz that’s jus what it was
You hit it on the head. Boy refuses to take ownership. Sour patch kid
Being a dude from Brooklyn and Lincoln grad I could listen to Bassie talk all day about his experience. Glad to see him in a good head space and hope he bounce back big time from any setbacks. Fire 🔥 interview
Interview was fiyah!!! BK YOU HEARD!!
Bash is the perfect example of what happens when you run with the wrong crowd and a product of your environment.
And also when you don't take accountability
Bassy thinks he was better then he was, he was nice but he talk like he an All star. Iv heard him say he better then his cousin stephon is crazy. Stephon was an elite all star for the nets shooting from 30, doing crazy work
I'm trying to tell you..
Sebastian’s mistake was skipping college. Even just one year - to learn how to work at the next level and the right mindset to thrive once he reached NBA. Marbury did that at Georgia Tech.
He just didn’t have the right ppl. The Steph thing tho. They got some inside family issue we don’t know bout. Besides that I get why bassy think that. He has good games against Steph but Steph had good games against multiple teams. Bassy wasn’t consistent.
Dude was one of the greatest players at a young age. But it didn't age that well when he went pro. He was a decent NBA player making no mistake about it. But he clearly couldn't push to the level of the great seats talking about if all it took was in Adidas deal getting messed up for him to start folding.
He’s stuck in 2004. His best days were HS and he can’t get beyond that. It’s actually sad to watch. His value is in talking that “back in the day” instead of focusing on his pro legacy. I hope he finds peace in the present and can let go of the past.
If this man say FACTS ONE MORE DAM TIME Bro 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yo facts 💀😂😂
Facts ma dude😂
Dead Ass I’m like STFU everything is FACTS w/o actual facts 🤦🏾♂️
Facts 😂😂😂
Or "Control the Narrative."😂😂
Long overdue for a Bash interview... Glad he chose All The Smoke, The GOAT NBA podcast platform
…he went on cam and made show first..then some other place couple weeks ago…this a leftover interview bro lol
Bassy to read a book and stop talking so much…he sound like a person who didn’t pay attention to NONE of the right things
His perception of how the players association “should be” is mind blowingly dumb…in any business the commodity has the least power and control except for the absolute best of the best…so expecting the league to cater any policies of procedures based upon the average players experience is NEVER gonna happen…if u don’t move the needle then u better get n where u fit in and don’t expect no favors
He said he was bigger then bron in high school he’s crazy
New York Arrogance
They was neck and neck
It was legit borderline between Bassy and Bron in HS hype - unbelievable to think of that now, but it was what it was. Peep the Slam magazine cover.
Yah it was about neck & neck but bro resonated with the ghetto kids more from what I seen, he was more imitated on the court round my way then BRON . School hoopers spoke more of BRON but the hood was with Sebastian
He was buggin...
Stop with the coulda, woulda, shoulda shii 😂 you got played out of your money because you didn’t have a force behind you. But that shouldn’t have stopped your grind. You were still young & had talent. You let them mfs ruin you.
Like you said, he didn't have a force behind him. Losing out on that kind of money put him in a bad mental spot and he didn't have someone behind him to guide him and keep him on his toes. Since he was so young.
@@ingriddouglas8733 I completely get that part. But he needs to put the blame on himself. How you lose yourself in money you ain’t made yet? He said he ain’t see a dime of it. Yeah it suck’s, but your talent is what got you thus far. Not the shoe or the money.
You literally just said he was still young. Well damn since when should you have all the answers that young? Yo MF ass would be playing like shit in a rec pickup game if somebody owed you $2,000 let alone $20 mil. Sit down and show empathy.
Being that young you don't think from the standpoint of logic. It's unfortunate all the way around. @@amberwilliams9035
I'm telling you right now bro it's crazy he's projecting what he went through onto other players there are far greater than he ever could be mentally and physically.. I'm not hating on Sebastian telfair what he did as a youngster is unbelievable. But it seems as though material things impacted him and such a way because of where he came from and the way he valued those things. It is not going to impact LeBron and Jordan the way it impacted him but that's what he's trying to sell.
This is a good interview and Matt didn’t get mad at Bassy. Wild how insecure people perceive the world. Matt kept it solid.
If only bassy and Marbury both listened to KG they both would’ve had longer careers in the league…
I love the respectful back and forth discourse.
Love the intensity of the interview about the mental edge of sneakers and stuff. I swear MJ said that too 20 years ago right? All the smoke brings it! 💨🏀
Facts. People acting like they would be the same if they played in some generic shoes is ridiculous.
The lights is on it’s time to perform , we looked up the Telfair 💯💯💯his goals was to get to the league as as a 6”0 point guard an he did
Amen. Get to the League and get those ten qualifying years in for the pension. Careers are overrated, it's all about getting a big contract knowing that you're one injury away from the whole house of cards falling down. Bassy should have sewn up the shoe money deal tho.
Hands down one of the best podcast love your shows Matt and Stacks
Y’all do know there biggest interview was with Shannon sharp almost 8 mil and big head stak called him unc 😂but he said when has he ever been unc 😂😂

FACTS!
yeah when did he learn that? That wasnt a word back in 2006 lol

Bassy: Factssss!
He said he didn't even care about the Adidas money at the time, but then blames them for ruining his career cause they messed him up so bad... blaming it on the shoes is WILD HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Lmfao. I think he just dhdht realize the magnitude of the deal and what was really at stake then.
@Anthonyistheone yeah I don't think he realized what was at stake with a lot of things back then. It all came too easy for him in high school and he's dying to turn back the clock
It’s because be didn’t realize the machine behind Addidas we already witness it with Kanye west but they couldn’t break him even though they tried, he’s not lying about anything he said, but he still have to take accountability but once they drop him they was going make sure he wasn’t hot no where else.
