[COVID-19] Emergency Responses With Protective Gear in Vancouver!

Captured here is a glimpse of how emergency services in Vancouver currently protect themselves during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS) Paramedics are now commonly seen with respirators and face shields, while firefighters also don full-body protective suits and masks when responding to medical emergencies. In this video, you will see Medic 23 and Engine 2 of the Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services (VFRS) responding to three separate medical emergency calls in the notorious Downtown Eastside area. Thank you to the first responders and all essential workers for their continued service during the pandemic!

Every call I wear eye protection and an n95 respirator. It's not easy but it's nessesary.

IMO I think first responders should continue to wear face masks and gloves even after Covid. You never know what weird and wacky germs are circulating around the community, so you gotta be careful you know...

Just a point of clarification, Fire only wears the suits for certain calls, such as ODs, where they will be hands on. Do you know how to use Narcan? It's not that hard. Overdose Prevention Society really helps out emergency services as members walk the streets and are on scene at an OD.

Good film. I noticed that US firefighters take a long time to get dressed and go on a mission. In Poland, we have a specified departure time for vehicles for action, it is about half a minute. In some fire stations, when the alarm is triggered, the clock is activated, showing how much time is left until the mission departure.
