[High Risk Takedown] Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team (ERT) Takedown in East Vancouver.

On Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 the Lower Mainland and District (LMD) Emergency Response Team (ERT), engaged in high-risk takedown in East Vancouver.
The ERT allegedly struck a vehicle that it was following before deploying a loud distraction device which caused some smoke to emit on the scene. The ERT then moved in to take custody of the occupant inside the vehicle
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) also deployed a number of units to assist with the situation and provide traffic control as the incident put a stop to afternoon rush hour traffic.

Vancouver has their own ERT, they don't use the LMD ERT

Correct but this is the LMD ERT. They were following a vehicle in from another municipality.

Both ERTs can operate really anywhere they need to in BC
