That "mirror" option is INSAAAANELY helpful! Thanks Ty. You've literally taught me everything I know.
Hard to find someone that goses over it with this much detail, big help keep the vids coming.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it?
Supported my first print today from scratch. Printed successfully! Thanks to you and one other CZcamsr for sharing your knowledge. When I get good I'll hit you up for a job 😂!
Please do ;)
Thank you for coming out with this, I've been preaching this for 6-8 months now and I'm getting sick of everyone telling me I'm stupid and wrong.
Glad I could validate good work!
@@TableFlipFoundry It's more then that, your earlier video on how to support set me on my path to 3D printing with no failures and almost perfect detail.
Thank you sir for helping us newbs out..every time I watch your vids..I "learn" something new! Your cones have made calibration so much easier!! Looking forward to the new ones..
Thanks Sean. I'm not sure how to feel about "learn" being in quotes hahaha. But I'm still taking this as a total win lol
I'm new here and I am new to resin printing. . .well 3d printing in general. Thankfully I found you! I have had my printer for one week today and I have not been able to successfully print - - - until I warched your class!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Im so happy to hear that. Im really glad I could be helpful! Welcome to the community!
The mirror function is a revelation. What a time saver!
Another great video, thanks for the explanation. This really helps and shows why my last bases were off a bit (not 100% circular). Appreciate the time and energy. Awesome job.
My pleasure!
This is super helpful. I have struggled with flat objects like this and am now looking forward to putting this technique into practice. Thanks!
Make sure to come back and update me on how it goes for you!
That explanation of the elephant's foot issue was super useful. Thanks for the info!
Just started printing a month ago and all your videos have been extremely helpful and saved me a massive amount of learning curve! Thank you!
You're quite welcome! Thanks for saying so. Im glad to be helpful :D
Thank you I have learnt a lot in just this one video
I have so much trouble printing bases that I've practically given up trying. I *thought* i knew the double row method, but i was clearly wrong and now I'm looking forward to trying again!
Also, the brief demonstration of using this method for irregular shaped bases was great to see - i hadn't even thought of using the same method on irregular shapes, even though it seems to obvious. Cheers!
So glad I could help ya out! Let me know how it goes!
Great tutorial. I wish I had the time and space to mess with my printer, but I am just fighting with too many factors right now. I printed off a few that came out pretty great, but I went through a bunch of FEPs and kinda gave up for the time being.
Don't quit on it. 3D printing has it's challenges, but once you get there, you get it. You will still have fails, and blow out FEPs, but that's just part of it. Best of luck!
Thanks :) this was very useful information
You're very welcome man!! I hope it helps!
THANK YOU! I've been lost for days and finally have a solid game plan supporting my models which all have flat backs like a base. Question for anyone, how do you get the yellow grid pattern to show up? Sometimes I see it, but most of the time I don't, is it something you can turn on?
The grid pattern indicates the bottom faces of the model when you're in support mode. It comes on no matter what as far as I know.
This worked a treat for 32mm bases, but my large bases are failing BAD. Someone suggested that suction is the culprit, which sounds very likely to me.
I have a couple new videos that may help. Check out my video on hollowing and my new one on projection supports for bases
Great to see your dimensions for your medium and heavy supports. Can you share the dimensions and use cases for your light supports?
Yep, just have a watch of the pre-support class video :)
But also .22 haha
@@TableFlipFoundry lol thanks! I did find it in the live stream class tho. I'm going with .2 small, .3 medium, and .4 large cuz the damn Halot box only goes to the tens digit. 😠
@@TableFlipFoundry but fr tho, thank you for the help! Your videos have been a real game changer for me.
That's the demolition ranch in the other universe)
Maybe I missed a part, but what's the best rotation angle to keep the round base for optimal printing and no distortion? more than 45 degree, a bit less?
I do a bit less. I eyeball it honestly, but 30 ish degrees should be ok
What is the cons, using a flex plate and just build flat over there?
Thanks
Flex plates have the potential to come off the build plate during the print
Just sub I have a large base fail over and over was about ready to get out of resin printing thanks for the video. One thing I was wondering about is the base hollow? I would like to keep not hollowed because I like to print tall models and the base adds weight
Check out my other video on model hollowing! It should help ya out.
I feel like I keep over supporting all my models I wish there was a way to have a one on one convo with you!
There is! Hope in our discord server and shoot me a message.

Thanks
You're quite welcome :)
@@TableFlipFoundry Is there a way to preview a cxdlp file and is there away to have multiple lychee slicers opened at the same time ?
Can we save this as a template if we want to print multiple bases all at once?
You can do something called object swapping but its very limited. There is a new projection tool that makes this easier but its not quite perfect yet
Does the height of supports matter at all?
To some degree it can, some of the really big models will have very long supports on the back end, and you want to make sure to add extra bracing on those. - Sorry for the late reply. It's hard to keep up sometimes.
Isn't this a waste of resin? can you instead use branching support?
I think failed prints are a bigger waste of resin.
But also, professionally, I prefer to use a support technique that offers more stability during the printing process. Especially when holding a perfect shape is so important like on round bases. You're welcome to try to use branched supports if you like. But the resin savings is usually so marginal it's insignificant. 1 or 2 ml. Sometimes less.
Wait wait, how do you get the support to auto attach to the raft after you click where you want it on the model?
Alt-double click
Where is this puck base?
