I've been trying to find the easiest way to eliminate supports detected by the Proximity Detector. There is not a function (like with islands) to take you to each problem support in turn. So try this - you may not be able to find the support in error if it's a mini, but you can eliminate it. First, in prepare mode, in the top right corner is an eye with a line through it - Hide All Supports. Click it. Next, from the menu at the top of the screen, select View - Support Visibility - Show only supports in proximity error. Next to the eye you clicked earlier, it should tell you the number of supports you've selected. Even if you can't see them, just hit the Delete key on your keyboard and the problem supports will be removed. Then you can run Island Detection and see if there's anything you need to fix as a result.
A Spacemouse takes about a week to figure out, I transitioned super quickly and it helped me to keep from blowing out my hand as it then split the work between my two hands. Plus you can assign your own shortcuts to all of the buttons which makes the workflow rock. I thought it would take forever myself, but putting the time into it has made my CAD work so much quicker and easier. Thank you for this video, I've learned so much from this which has made learning how to create supports in Lychee much much simpler. I've taken about half of what you show here and applied it immediately.
I have never had an issue with Lychee, I recently upgraded to Pro and to be honest, if you are only printing pre-supported models you probably dont need it, but if you do any of your own supports it's well worth it. Lie-chee in my books :)
Ive watched parts of this a couple of times, but this time i got to see it start to finish. Incredible information un an easy to understand way. I look forward to getting Lychee. Please more of these videos please! 😊
@TableFlipFoundry Well that is another worthy cause. :) As soon as I get all 4 of my ninja sushi printing well (scaling and supports), I'll be grabbing the latest cones so I can dial in my first ever resin change. Going to switch from Standard+ to ABS-Like.
I appreciate the fundamentals you're going over here. I think the next video to best help everyone with supports should be a practical video of you supporting a figure and then explaining your workflow as you go.
I'm about 2 months into this whacky world with my starter Christmas present photon 4k. I've seen these lychee videos, but haven't been interested in diving in too deep with a new slicer when the Anycubic one has worked. This weekend may have changed that. The deeper I get into supports, the more I want to control them. Simple models work fine with the current slicer, but this weekend I ran across a model where I need more control. Might be time to make the next leap.
Good video. I'm sure I'll refer to it often... having said that... All of that "override" stuff at 43:00-46:00 (approx) was just confusing (for a Basics video). Personally, I think it would have been better if you would have left that out. [edit] Ok, ok... I retract my previous remark. After listening to the rest of the video, and trying to emulate your techniques, I find that your guidance on settings is most valuable, and worth any extra time spent in understanding that section of the video. Thank you. Cheers! - s.west
I have the pro version of both fdm and resin, I only recently started using it as I just bought my first resin printer but had the pro version to try it for fdm printing when they released it. I still find it very buggy for fdm and it is still in development but is developing well. But since I have started using it for resin slicing, wow I am blown away how good it is and so easy to use. If the fdm develops into a product that’s equal to the resin side, it will definitely be my go to for slicing my models.
I LOVE your videos! I will sign up for your discord to help you get to 5000! I will also tell my Maker's group about your company and Discord community! Keep up the great work!!!
If my printer says it’s gonna take 2 hours to print an item and it takes more than 5 hours to finish. What does it mean? What is wrong? I don’t understand.
No other software than Lychee? Yeah right, I can't even use Lychee. My Mars screen is a mono screen but different resolution than the one they have set for the mono screen mod. Therefore I cannot use them because when I said I had a resolution conflict they read as far as "Mars mono screen" and I get "USE THE MONO VERSION" and close the feedback. Then they just ignore any comments after that. Great customer service, really makes me want to buy the pro version.
sorry on the beginning when you talking about the community resins settings till to now i didn't understand well how add a proper hown resin setting and save it in the software. pls could you explain it??
I really love my 3D mouse but in Lychee is useless, I disabled it. The problem is that in Lychee the movement is camera dependent, i.e. in Blender no matter from where you are viewing the scene, pulling the 3d mouse up is always zoom in. In Lychee if you are looking from below, then the controls are reversed, which makes it impossible to get used to.

Hi, side note for you. The reason you are having coughing problems and seems like your allergies act up when you are recording is you are breathing out of your mouth instead of your nose which is the FILTER AND MOISTURIZER for your throat and chest, eyes ears and so on. Go back and watch yourself for a bit. When you are coughing most you are probably excited, your breaths are increasing and all that dry air is going in your MOUTH, the human body was not designed for this. Check out mouth breathing it will change your life and your Video presentations. People can do a talk for 5 hours and breathing from the nose will not cough, hack, wipe their nose, any of that. Love your stuff just want to see you healthy!! And I NEED you healthy if I am ever going to learn to support my Mini's.....great work!!!
Hey! Thanks so much for the advice! The reason I'm forced to breath out of my mouth is two fold. I do have bad allergies so my sinuses are always fairly irritated but also I have a deviated septum. I've had some nose breaks from my MMA career. I opted for no allergy meds knowing that I was going to teach the class. I get really foggy when I take them and it's hard to focus. It's all kind of this vicious circle that doesn't let me breath well.

If my printer says it’s gonna take 2 hours to print an item and it takes more than 5 hours to finish. What does it mean? What is wrong? I don’t understand.
this is just poor implementation of the print time calculation in lychee. Its best not to think about that stuff. It takes as long as it takes.
I know Right , I can always add 35-40% more time😮
The people that pre-supports don't use uvtools, guess that's why there are so many small islands still when you verify a pre-supported model😅
