No joke i legitimately watched morbius thinking the "it's morbin time" scene was real. For me personally, the biggest disappointment was not getting that scene.

The way that Morbius became a meme that trolled the studio into re-releasing it is an art form in itself. That is a distinguished category that I'm not sure any other film will get into.

It’s crazy how they can take such a cool premise of dinosaurs integrating with the world and make it about a clone girl and bugs. That’s an achievement
To be fair, both of those could've worked extremely well in a jurassic park movie (esp. the bugs because that was directly mentioned in the first book)...
It's just that Colin Trevorrow fucking sucks and can't write a good movie to save his life. I bet you my left leg that Jurassic World was only good because Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver wrote the screenplay.
Altough I still cannot believe they got away with putting a tech billionaire who wants to gain power through famine as the central conflict, while in the real world people are gettin increasingly concertned about Bill Gates’ actions, who show parallels to the villain. How there werent countless smear articles, or the movies was even released boggles my mind.
I'm actually really glad I didn't see it which is rare for me. I normally like to see series through even if they're trash, i.e. Star Wars sequels. As soon as I heard the details on the plot for it, I was flabbergasted as to its content. Also relieved I didn't bother to watch it, the entire plot is a waste.

It makes me wonder: did the 2008 writer's strike ever end? Have studios simply refused to hire people that value their work?
My biggest problem with Moonfall was that I never felt human kind actually dying. By far, only 7 characters died on-screen. If you are going for a disaster movie, then you need people to see and be scared of the amount of destruction that is going to happen.

I refuse to believe Moonfall was from this year, I saw a DVD of it being sold for $4 at Dollar General, it looked like all the mid 2000s movies it was in the bargain bin with. How Roland Emmerich manages to keep getting work astounds me.

Fun fact about moonfall, my friends, my girlfriend, and I went to go watch it and went insane when we saw our city was featured in the movie. Literally was the best part of the movie, it lasted 3 seconds on screen😭

The story centered around the release of Morbius is one of the best I've seen and experienced. It is one of the best stories that's about everyday normal human beings that made a mindless corporation lose their money by the boatload through deception disguised as memes

Halloween Ends is exactly why I watch a Halloween movie, to see an old, wounded, dying man struggle in a sewer for an hour while some butthead is the focus for the whole movie before getting killed anyway.

My point is they tried and failed doing that.
I would've been more open to a new idea like this had they actually had Michael's soul take over the main characters body. But they did all that buildup just to kill him off...I was like wtf

The secrets of dumbledoor is basically a two hour version of the scene from the rick and morty heist episode where all the characters run around doing random tasks
Funny story: the new Texas Chainsaw movie was one of the first ever horror movies I watched with my girlfriend. She absolutely hates horror films and gets scared very easily, but the fact that she actually laughed at it *with* me makes me think a dishonorable mention was a fitting spot on this list.

The scariest thing about this movie was that when it released me, my fiance and one of our best friends finally decided on it for the movie of the evening and our TV died. The film started and first the audio just straight up cut out then after i followed the Vizio troubleshooting tips the screen went completely black leaving us with a useless TV. Thankfully it was within warranty and we got a new one, newest model too. But still, our Vizio has some dumbass issues when it comes to streaming from a phone

Love the gold color for the moisties, it’s truly poetic. We’ve been taking in so much moisture this year it’s time to let it all out in one concise stream of content.
My friend and I saw Morbius the last day in theaters (during its normal run), and it may be my favorite movie watching experience of all time. It was a near empty theater so we kept cheering for stupid scenes. The memes made elevated this movie from a terrible cash grab to one of the goofiest movies ever, and I absolutely love it for that.
The idea of Morbius being a "terrible cash grab" is absurd and completely unfounded. Morbius is the greatest movie of all time. The memes that arose from it only prove that fact, the "goofiness" you refer to is actually the peak of cinematic beauty.

From an entertainment standpoint, this movie introduces us to a new Marvel Legend into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who will save the Marvel multiverse of morbness with Dr. Michael Morbius's (portrayed by hit actor Jared Leto) brilliant invention of synthetic blood. Lastly, the brilliant line "It's Morbin time" teaches the audience that it is never to late to watch morbius, ensuring that its lessons will outlive this generation.
Matt Smith is a cinematic treasure. Anything with him running around chewing the scenery is gold.

i met the director for the new texas chainsaw massacre at monsterpalooza. the guy was really nice and his little booth area was definitely getting ignored for the most part, i even heard some dudes laughing about it in the bathroom. felt bad, all he said he wanted was to do was make it different then something everyones already seen

I think the problem with Halloween Ends isn't just the ending or the plot or the characters it focuses on. It's that it's supposed to be the "last Halloween movie to be made"
And it didn't even go final morb
The movie itself is actually pretty good, but it was a terrible finale to a 40+ year long franchise. But it would have been good if it came out instead of the 2018 film, and the sequels followed that.
I definitely felt like it had potential in the beginning, the intro was great and got you hyped up, and I was on board with their whole “evil has all types of forms” scenario where the guy Corey wasn’t evil but through situations and getting bullied from the high school band team he snapped. I was on board with Michael passing the legacy on to someone else, but then it turns into some weird rom com and Michael getting bullied by the little shit and it just went south so quickly.
I think it’s supposed to be finale to the 2018 chronology

I watched morb on premiere on a quality theater. It felt wildly cut for some reason, like half the movie was removed. That said, it was so bad it was enjoyable and probably one of the best cinema experiences I've had.

Yeah, we saw it opening night too. The whole movie felt cut and also we thought our screen was messed up or something because of how dark every scene was shot.
Wow the way he talks about Moonfall reminds me of how I felt about Tag Riaru Onigokku. And that is the only movie I've ever seen that had so much bad nonsense that I had to re-watch it again and again to try and figure out wtf was even happening. Eventually I had to conclude that there was no plot at all, but they sure did a good job stringing you along to make you think there might be one lmao.

Morbius was so odd. It started out fine and then it just dropped like a sledge hammer. I have no idea what happened. It just turned so bad so fast it was confusing.
Honestly, I feel like people are exaggerating a bit. It's a bland boring movie, with terrible fight scenes, a goofy villain, and bad writing - but nothing I'd ever feel so strongly about that I could rant about. Personally, I don't think Venom or the Hulk movies were much better, if I'm honest, and nobody talks about them.

Other bad movies would make you annoyed, angry, or bothered in some other way. But Morbius just kind of... happened. It's like eating a spoon full of flour.

The ‘have sex’ scene was well worth the price of admission. And also the only memorable thing in the whole movie.

I write a weekly film review column for the Star Mail newspaper group, and this year marks my ninth yearly best and worst films countdown.
I honestly liked The Secrets of Dumbledore and Halloween Ends, but they ended up more-or-less in the middle of all the films I saw this year.
Jurassic World: Dominion was in my worst films list, but at #8. Morbius is #5 on my worst list, and Moonfall is #4.
Perhaps the most surprising entry on my worst list is The Wonder at #10. The Wonder is otherwise a very good film that immediately shoots itself in the foot with the opening, which explicitly calls attention to the film's fakeness and thus deflates the drama.
My #3 worst film is Loveland, a painfully dull cyberpunk drama, and my #2 and #1 worst films are the 365 Days sequels, which I discussed together as basically the same boring yet infuriating movie.
I could easily believe that Möbius was in the same situation as the King's Daughter (filmed in 2014 but VFX weren't finished until 2021) where Morbius was actually filmed in 1999
I don’t think I have ever seen anything start so strong only to fall so flat like the new Halloween trilogy did.

I saw Moonfall in theatres in 4dx with the Universal Studios rollercoaster seats and it went hard. the ending lore actually had my brain cells expanding. Truly the best bad movie of all time. We need a prequel sequel
8:45 The way his voice trills at the end....that's what true passion from a practiced orator sounds like. Listening to people who talk for a living long enough and you will see patterns emerge, no matter what the niche is.
Remember when in the early 2000’s there were like 800 movies who looked like a blade/matrix rip-off with blurry and way too fast fighting scenes?

Moonfall was absolutely hysterical. Went to see it with the boys opening weekend for my birthday because I was intrigued by the trailers. Told them walking in it would either be a really good movie or a really good comedy. Was glad to see that the last one came true. We could not stop laughing at the movie. 10/10 immensely entertained, would watch again. Also side note, the movie actually had impressive CGI, my mind was blown by the render of Earth's creation and history and again by the shots of the moon scraping by earth with the meteors pouring down (probably only impressed because of the quality of the movie otherwise but was still cool).
On a scale of 1 to 10, how fun bad is it? I'm thinking of watching it with my boys

@@KashNoK I'd say 6-7, with a variable extra +1-3 of how much you appreciate bad movies and/or pretty nice (if crazy CGI). Please do make sure to leave your disbelief and logical thinking at the door, as it has no place within the movie. I'm not a super fan of the genre, but I was entertained (for the wrong reasons that the movie wanted me) and you probably will, too, as long as you go in with the appropriate mindset. Have fun!
@@KashNoK 10/10 fun bad. There's loads of bad acting, stupid scenarios/cliches and plot holes to make fun of. Also its hard to distinguish if it's being serious or parodying at times. Like all the conspiracy theories about the moon are true, but the characters act so serious about it that its hard to tell if its a crack at stupid tinfoil theorists or dead pan faith in said theories.

I recently reread all the main harry potter books because it had been a while and I don't think there were any mentions or implications of any future seeing abilities and if there was it would be very significant to the plot (especially since the main villain/mentor character are both wizards who are more skilled than grindewald so hey they'd probably have that power as well)
Also I'm sure there would be some counter to it similar to legilimancy vs occulemency which dumbledore would have and that would be the main plot, he can't tell them the plan without ruining it so he has to execute it entirely alone and behind the scenes (which is definitely in line with his actions in the original series)

I happened to walk into the room while my dad was watching Moonfall and sat and watched the rest with him. I missed the first 40 minutes of it and I couldn't tell if any valuable plot point was missed.

I just remembered why the dumbledor thing sounded familiar and it’s cause there’s already a movie on Netflix, tho idk if it’s still there, called Mune which is an animated movie where one of the main things that happens is that the next guardian of the moon is chosen when a creature bows to you and it was like such a cute movie to me but now I know that it has its own cheap copy. I think it’s better cause that isn’t even like a main plot point, it just gets things going for the actual plot
I think you should also add top 5 best and worst TV shows as well. even though I can't really think of 5 good shows for this year, but the 5 worst shows is a really competitive category.

The creature bowing only before it's chosen leader plot point reminds me of an older anime / novel series Juuni Kokuki (Twelve Kingdoms). That one's a banger though. Unfortunately the story isn't finished and we'll probably never see the rest of the series adapted whenever it does finish. Oh well.
The fact that he didn't even mention Don't Worry Darling, Firestarter, Pinocchio, The 355, or Thor: Love and Thunder didn't make it shows how bad this year was.

When morbius flew into space to fight santa and bumped into the moon and caused the events of moonfall then puts on his clown shoes and red nose, and said "it's morbin time" was truly epic
It was indeed, a masterpiece beyond comprehension, for not even the greatest literary mind of our generation is capable to truly comprehend the absolute genius of this scene. The director, having already demonstrated his mastery of cinema and his unparalleled knowledge of our social culture, outdid himself in the creation of a scene to surpass all that has been created before that. Truly, a sight to behold.
