Pepsi is responding to critics of its controversial new ad featuring Kendall Jenner after the soda giant faced backlash on social media. In the spot, Jenner ditches a photo shoot to join a protest, then hands a police officer a can of Pepsi, bringing the event to a peaceful end. That image is being compared to the famous photo of a nurse from Brooklyn who appeared at a Black Lives Matter march in Baton Rouge, Louisiana last year. Social media lit up with comments after the commercial was released. #InsideEdition

More like it just conveys a company trying to push its product by taking advantage of current social dynamics.
If they wanted to convey people coming together in the spirit of harmony I think a better ad would simply have been a variety of different people coming together in a more appropriate situation such as a party. If Pepsi is trying to say that the only way different people will come together is first by protest then that's not a world I want to be a part of.
