Great point by Simon. I’m no fan of the whataboutery in football because it effectively prevents anybody from taking a moral position on anything without being accused of hypocrisy. But this is a good rule of thumb to live by - we don’t have to be perfect, but making some sort of sacrifice is a good way of signalling to people that you’re actually serious about it.
whataboutery is just used so people who did bad things don't have to face up to it. hypocrites lack credibility, if you behave a certain way then berate others for behaving similarly you lack credibility and no one will take you seriously.

Simon Jordan is one of the few pundits across any media outlet that I genuinely enjoy listening to. He is articulate, has his finger on the pulse and doesn't mince words.

I like simon Jordan but his logic is flawed. I'm not for the tournament to take place in Qatar but he's basically implying that if you have an issue with a country's laws you can't set foot in that country. I'm sure Richard keys and Andy gray have an issue with the poor human rights in Qatar yet they work for Bein sports and no one bats an eyelid. I'm sure many fans who went to Russia for the world cup know about the issues there

A country may hold values but do you, living in that country, hold those values? It's just a mass generalisation; no country speaks for me - I can say that. Technically though, Qatar isn't wrong for the values they impose just as much as the West isn't right.

Finally someone said it! Gary Neville is definitely the biggest hypocrite out of all pundits. I remember at the EUROs last year when England played Denmark and they were given an unrightful penalty to qualify to the final he said he "doesn't care, he knows it wasn't a penalty and it was gifted to England, but he doesn't care cause they made it in the final". Also said doesn't matter the means as long as they won and made it to the final. Next match, Chiellini pulled Saka back, not allowing him to score, this leading to England losing the EUROs - Neville was fuming over it saying it's unfair and he wouldn't want to win unfairly. He was crying over something that he was happy about in the semis against Denmark. Massive hypocrite!

Yeah living conditions of migrants is AWFUL but that 6500 statistic is the combined deaths of all migrant workers since 2010 it's not exactly work related deaths or whatnot it's a case of false journalism without liability for slander they even word it so they imply it has to do with the stadium but don't outright say it. They just found a story they can ride on to get as many views as they can taking advantage of the kefala system and how horrid it is. 100% correct and very fair, well balanced argument stated by Simon in a very eloquent way.
I don't know if anyone will remember or know about it but at least 10 years ago Frank Lampard's reputation was being dragged through the mud by the media and LBC (a radio station) was alluding to Frank Lampard being a 'coward' and 'scum' and loads of other nasty things and Frank Lampard actually called LBC and spoke live on air to defend himself against allegations people in the media were making.
The call is actually on CZcams to listen to and judging by the comments in the CZcams section he gained a lot of respect for doing it. Lampard was able to tell his version of events and I myself at least finished listening to him and thought 'fair play mate, you're a decent guy'.
Now the situation between Gary Neville and Frank Lampard is a little different but the moral of the story is the same, Simon Jordan is throwing endless verbal punches at Gary Neville so he should come out and defend himself! It will go one of two ways, the conversation will finish and you'll think 'fair play, Gary knows what he's talking about' or he'll make himself look silly.
