Look if Arsenal don’t win the league and it ends on 89 and City get 91 then I won’t be shouting and hollering. I want them to go get a striker and wherever else they need. At this point it’s about creating more ways to come at a game and outdo your opponents.
The only thing that separates Arsenal and City if both teams win every game is Arsenal has 5 draws and 5 losses vs City’s 7 draws and 3 losses.
What caused those losses rather than draws, and draws rather than wins was mainly due to the lack of ability to put the ball in the net during certain parts of the season.
If Arsenal did not go through spats of the season where they seemed physically unable to score like against Villa both times or when they played West Ham or such, this league would pretty much be wrapped up by now.
But that’s not how football works unfortunately and Arsenal suffered because of it.
That being said, what I now think Arsenal really needs to push to the very top is someone who you can count on to pull them up with a goal when the chips are down and a couple quality backups for some key positions. For example, Saka is brilliant but is being run into the ground.

I don't think anyone would have said 2 years ago that Arsenal can't still move up the league it was just more questionable and unknown then. Now however we've seen that this team needs rest during the season because it has dips, we've seen players like Saka getting burned out, they're running on fumes. That doesn't mean they can't win a league in the future if Man City have an off year but the difference you can obviously tell with City and Arsenal is that City are still looking out of sorts and not quite right, Arsenal look like the finished article which should worry people for next season if City get back to their treble form.

There is nobody on God’s green earth who thinks spurs would win a trophy never mind a fluke UCL final appearance.
Chelsea were expected to lose the UEL final and Arsenal had crashed out of every competition quite easily with a shocking squad and defence and would never have even reach top 7 even if they matched Wolves’s points.
Let me put it this way- Apart from city which team put together a half decent run in the league? Arsenal will surpass City’s total that season with games to spare. The difference between 2nd and 3rd was 15 points. Man City had 9 losses 🤣🤣🤣🤣 3rd place had 8 losses! There is no way you’re telling me Man City have 9 losses in this league season and Arsenal don’t walk the league.
This season all top 3 will still not hit 9 losses at the end of the season. The competition slightly increase and Liverpool bottled it. 1 league title since 1990 shows that their season as amazing as it was is a fluke. They’re just another Leicester. Before you bring up your second place finish with 92 points third place was 18 points behind and Arsenal had 13 losses that season.
Just ONE team improved and Liverpool are not longer title contenders.
Pep is a champion and Klopp was a fluke winner.

One which goes against a weakened Bayern Munich. Bayern dropped 10 points in their opening 6 games. Not even during the Liverpool banter era did they drop that much. Bayern had massive injury list and finished not second but third with 40 goals conceded.
The next season Bayern still had injuries and had 7 losses.
In both seasons dortmund didn’t have the top scorer in their team showing it was a fluke. Bayern leverkusen have already matched doetmunds best title winning total and they have marches to spare! Both then and Bayern have beaten Klopps title winning points total showing they were better. Bayern Munich never got 7 losses again since 2011 showing they were fluke seasons.
The man who got Mainz relegated always relies on flukes. Now he’s known for 1 league title since 1990. Think about how much money was spent and how long he stayed with Liverpool and he got 1 league title against one of the worst premier league squads overall in history. Even 4th place had double digit losses! Third place were 15 points behind signifying the weakening of the league. How did Liverpool do the season after ? 🤣
This season we have atleast 2 good squads and Liverpool cannot compete at all for the title.

That comment from Merson on Raya's mistake is genuinely the reason I believe there isn't a single English manager at the top level of the game. You constantly hear captain hindsight in the British media "he should have cleared it", "time and a place". He's been watching Arsenal all season and still deosnt understand that these tops teams have a clear identity and they dont have an inconsistent manager on the sidelines chopping amd changing his mantra. This was an execution error from Raya, not an ideology error. The latter is far more damaging!

Interesting point and I'm not saying I think you're wrong on the ideology aspect, but I would say yes and no on Raya's error.
