Load of rubbish Gary Neville has said there, QPR weren’t safe from relegation when they played City, Bolton had to win their game against Stoke City, but didn’t, but that was a very close game. It’s agree with Neville here. Not very often I say that. It’s ridiculous to think Spurs would deliberately lose. Maybe decades ago - and maybe even individual players today who are local players and have an understanding of the rivalry on a deeper level - maybe those individuals would just stroll through the game and not go into fifty fifties, or run 60 yards to press - maybe. And collectively that could affect the result. But I can’t see a manager or club instructing their players to not play for a result they need.
Can you imagine the firestorm if a player leaked that kind of information? That they were instructed not to try and win. It would be a crime - literally a criminal act.

I'll always believe that Liverpool intentionally lost at Anfield to Chelsea in 2010 by 2 goals to nil, to help Chelsea win the Premier League and stop Manchester United winning a 4th title in a row and a record breaking 19th league title. Gerrard back passing it to Drogba for the opening goal. So yeah, I think Gerrard probably alone didn't want to win that game and the rest probably tried. Gerrard probably couldn't handle the fact that Man United were about to overtake Liverpool and then backpassed to Drogba and pretended like it was a mistake when it wasn't. No manager or player will ever admit it, but even the best play for a draw. But to play for a defeat is ridiculous and I fully believe some or at least Gerrard, did not care that he lost that day. They were out of the top four race anyway, so they didn't have any reason to try and get a result against Chelsea

It's happened frequently in footballing history. Lazio lost to Inter Milan so their heated rivals Roma couldn't win the title with the Lazio fans cheering the inter goals. Denmark and Sweden drew 2-2 in Euro 2004 which coincidentally was the only result that would see either qualify for knockouts at the expense of Italy. Heerenveen in the Netherlands was in a situation where they either had to win or lose against the stronger team Feyenoord to guarantee European football. Still, if they drew, they had to play qualifiers, so Heerenveen went out and didn't try because losing was less risky. No, whether ManCity win 4 in a row or not. ManUtd are technically the first team to do it. I don't consider ManUtd lost a PL title from 2006/07 to 2010/11.
On paper it says 09/10 wasn't but only because it happened to be the first year ManUtd coupd overtake Liverpool on PL title's amd Chelsea got to play Liverpool at Anfield on penultimate game where Liverpool aren't playing for anything other than preventing ManUtd winning hence Gerrard's deliberate backpass to Drogba at 0-0 there were abnormal circumstances then no VAR so Chelsea were favoured all season as the PL doesn't want same champion 4 times in a row but with VAR in 09/10 ManUtd win at a canter and this year ManCity can't be cheated like ManUtd were with Liverpool's match fixing with Chelsea because out of the 2 contenders Arsenal are the team who've won more overall league title's than ManCity so City aren't up against everyone & everything like ManUtd were in 09/10 but ManUtd won convincingly again the following season should've been 5 in a row. This spurs do give away a lot of chances to the opponent and that will greatly play into City's hands. Also the form the two teams are in are polar opposites.

Say for instance city completely batter Tottenham, technically the way both teams are playing that will most likely be the outcome and say the fans are not that bothered cause it stops Arsenal from winning the title you’ll have to question the integrity of the players…. It’s a weird situation cause all what will be remembered is Spurs literally deciding who wins the title.
