      Agreed, and it’s because Zidane proved to be a man of his word. He knows what it’s like to coach and be coached at an elite club. @@sotiriosnovatsis4529 Actions speak louder than words, my friend. Ronaldo asked to leave in the last transfer window because of what he foresaw for the club. There is a reason the Glazers are looking to sell the club; in time, ManU will come to show what Mourinho and Ronaldo have mentioned regarding poor decisions and poor football heritage. Zlatan and Alexis Sanchez have said the same thing. Di María flopped and die-hard ManU fans yelled at the top of their lungs that the club was too big for them. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds considering the clubs they played and won for?! The events speak for themselves.

      @sotiriosnovatsis4529 Před rokem +5

      @@3chenteruiz Ronaldo will always have a place in my heart, but you're right...the events do speak for themselves: poor form all year, disobeying the manager, storming into the changerooms during matches, unauthorised interview. The evidence is all there. Yes, there is a reason the Glazers are selling: because they ruined the club. And Ronaldo is not ignorant; he knew what he was getting into when he signed. The others left because the coaches were going nowhere. Ten Hag has already shown that slowly and surely he is actually turning this team around.

      @3chenteruiz Před rokem +6

      @@sotiriosnovatsis4529 Poor form all year? He managed to be a top-scorer with arguably the worst ManU side in the last 20 years. If you want to point to an event that impacted his form: the passing of his child. You’d need to be ignorant or cruel to dismiss that fact.
      Compound on that ETH’s need to make an example of him with the younger players. What little success he had with Ajax depended on having a young, impressionable squad. That’s who he is, a coach for the youth, not the elite.
      The best managers look for the best way to get the most out of their top-players, and he hasn’t been able to do that. Time will tell.

    Souness is right, that is why the club finds itself in the position it does with Ronaldo now. Ten Hag is not stupid, he knows the owners are interested in selling Ronaldo merchandise and didn't want him to leave when he asked last summer, so one week he has too much respect for him and the next he is insulting him by sending him on for a few minutes in a game already won. He deliberately provoked him, he's a coach, he knows a man with an enormous pride would react in a way that way get him fired and out of his hair.

    Ronaldo announced that he wanted to leave MUFC in the summer; whether it be because he wanted to play for a club qualified for CL or for other reasons, it doesn't matter. He missed pre-season, and has caused problems for the club since. Erik ten Hag was employed to turn the team around and make them competitive, to install a new way of playing and changing [improving] the squad's mentality. Ten Hag was not employed to manage Ronaldo's last season of his contract but to mould the team into his vision. Ten Hag's focus isn't on one player, it is on the team. If Ronaldo starts a game, is benched, or is asked to come on at whatever time during a match, that is a decision that Erik ten Hag was employed to make, and one he will make with the team's performance, not based on the wishes of one single player. Keep it real.

    You are right. From the beginning CR7 wanted to leave. He wanted to prepare for the World Cup hence he wanted to be in the Champions League. Ten Hag must have convinced CR7 to stay and promised to play him every game. Ten Hag even said in interviews that he wanted CR7 because goals. He even said that they can give CR7 on loan for a year and CR7 joins them the following year to play in the Champions League. This is evidence that Ten Hag had the intention to hold onto CR7 but unfortunately things changed as the goald were not coming.
