    The Note 7 was perhaps the best received Samsung phone ever and looked certain to be a huge success. It's such a shame that the batteries were so poorly made by their suppliers that this excellent product has become a punchline. If the recalled phones were not refurbished then the story is even more sad. Such a waste.

    • @JavenJC69
      @JavenJC69 Před 2 lety +44

      It's not poorly made it's just that the battery was snugly fit inside the phone without any breathing room. Batteries from time to time vent to release build up pressure inside them and considering how snugly fit the battery was inside the phone is what causes the battery to explode

    • @jozsefizsak
      @jozsefizsak Před 2 lety +43

      @@JavenJC69 You are correct about the tight fit and in addition to that, there were two mistakes that were sometimes made in the battery suppliers' factories which caused internal shorts in the affected batteries. I remember when the Note7 dropped while I was in college. I had the Note6 at the time and was looking to upgrade to the 7. My friend actually got his hands on the 7 and that was about two weeks before the battery/fire issues starting popping up. Even when Samsung issued mass recalls for the phone, my friend didn't want to give his phone up. It wasn't until Verizon issued an "over-the-air" update that essentially bricked the phone on its network that my friend decided to send his in. It's a shame really because it was a really great phone compared to its peers at the time.

      Its the only one I could find. The one I put in my silver Note7 is no longer available.
      Don't even believe its really 3200mAh. Looses about 40% battery in 5 or 6 hours.
      As long as it doesn't blow up I am happy.
      Blows my mind Samsung doesn't sell the Fan Edition battery. After all if you had the Fan Edition model and it needed a new battery you would likely end up buying a 3,500mAh explosive one instead.

    In my opinion, the explosive problem come from its cpu/soc. Snapdragon 820/821 is the hottest cpu ever, its configuration about thortling is absolutly madness (of course some companies modify it). It will still remain in highest clock speed, even at 67°C when you load heavy thing like game, or even when charging. The thortling start at 70, from there the Soc become slight slower. But 70? The batery will just screamingly scared if i could say

    The last phone Samsung truely tried to innovate with. After this they got too scared to try and push tech in significant ways, even today with their super fast charging on the s22 ultra they've designed it so it only charges at 45W briefly before going back down to slow speeds. Such a shame.

    If samsung made the battery removable, water resistance would be limited to IP67, it would bend easier, make the phone feel cheaper, and potentially could cause people to throw batteries away after seeing the recall,and since you talk about the environment so much, you know that batteries in the garbage bin aren’t that good for the environment.

    • @tabbycat406
      @tabbycat406 Před 2 lety

      @Midnight Look at the S4. Do I have to mention that the LG G5? I think we all know why the G5 sucked. Look at the G5 then look at the G6. We all really know that the G5 battery removal method is what Samsung would’ve copied, anyway, ever had to get a bloated battery out of a G5? Not fun. Anyways, I shouldn’t have to worry about a guy who still asks people “what they’re on about” with an anime pfp and a name that could be the family cats.
