S8 design is such a beauty, especially the gold one!
Probably the best design so far, i have the S8+ and even if my screen is a bit broken in the edges, it still looks beautiful, i love it 👌🏾
@@BarthNW the fingerprint scanner!!!!
Meh S9 design looks better
I love the orchid gray one
@@Waddle_Dee_With_Internet still looks amazing. They did not say it was better than the S9

The constant crash and reboots could probably be fixed by flashing it with Odin. If it had an issue with flash or RAM, it would probably not even boot up or would crash midway through booting. The google apps crashing suggests a software issue rather than a hardware issue. The one not charging probably has an issue with the connections on the board, might be as simple as corrosion or something more complicated.
I literally put my broken screen galaxy s8 for £10 on eBay and still couldn't get rid of it
Ok I will buy it
only 10? I'll have it
@@avonire replacement displays cost the same as a second hand s8
@@breakcoregirlxd Rainy said it, Unless you can refurbish your own screens there still is very little profit on samsung devices unfortunately because the OLED cost just as much as replacing the device. apple still utilizes LCDS for a majority of their devices so there is one factor in how and why repairing an iphone is cheaper and more profitable. I also buy in lots fix and resell, i typically stay away from samsungs just for that reason and only buy 6s plus 8 plus and XS( theres a reason i left out IPhone 7, 7 plus and iphone X out of the picture and you are also a Phone tech like me youll know 7 and 7 plus are plagued with audio problems and Iphone X splitting logic boards due to weak solder in that specific model. Too much work to repair and resolder rather than just fix the ones that dont have board issues. I still make good side profit however I try to keep any bad phones from making their way back into this resale problem we have today. We fall into that problem where people have had a bad experience buying used phones. I can go on and on and. but i think you techies get the idea. LMK what you think. I live in an area in California where some people will pay the Premium to get their originall device working again but its like 1/10 people a mojrity of people use apple products... I still cant get rid of my Samsung S8 plus
@@breakcoregirlxd i worked for a local shop who refubished samsung OLEDs i learned the process on s7 s7 edges but eventually they had to close because not many people needed that repair locally. we also did apple repair but our company was well known for only samsung glass repair. Of course the owner had the process down and showed me. 1. Its not as easy as it looks. 2. He had all the equipment and tools. So it was somewhat easier as the machines did most of the work but you still had to be delicate in the process and many times that screen will get damaged if not done correctly and can lose touch in certain area, gain black spots, etc. And thats $200 down the drain because. OLED..... Now we are -200 and only profit 100 from the customer.. Little to no money made. Owner relied on apple screen repair sales and used phone sales.

Since the note 7 they started to put stuff into the wireless charging coil without that it will not charge the phone
Elijah H yeah because that’s the charging coli
@@eminetemur7476 They include temperature sensor to the charging coil. These phones, if charged, would display a warning, saying that "the temperature is cold" because the phone does not detect the temperature of the battery. Odd though why don't put them in battery instead, but it is what it is.

I love these videos Hugh! They’re so fun!
i love the S8 still rockin mine almost 3 years later with a clear glass back! Love it!
I broke mine a couple months ago. It's the last good phone in the S series for me (S9 is also good but I like the S8 better)
For the one that doesn’t charge try a new wireless charging coil has a temp sensor that goes bad when removing back .
Good Idea 👍💡!
hey the S8 will not charge without the plastic back of the wireless charging coil !

3:45 and 5:48 you need to install the wireless charging coil, as it has the battery temperature thing on it. If it's not installed, the battery/phone won't charge.
then why does the phone with the random crashes charge without the charging coil?

Hey, awesome video keep up the good work
You should definitely do some board level repairs on those phones , especially the not charging one. Hopefully all 3 can be fixed!!
(Maybe look into PMIC for the not charging one, seems there are some issues with it on the s8)
Idk if that’s your issue, just saying it is a factor unlike with iPhones 😄😄
One of the most beautiful Samsung galaxy smartphones ever made😍
Love how any piece of technology you can fix, some you can’t, but you can for most and don’t lose hope! Keep up the good work, greetings from USA!

I have a US S8 parts phone that turned on and charged just fine (completely smashed LCD/FrontGlass/Rear Panel) before the battery swelled up in storage. I quickly removed that battery and just have it sitting on my desk. You’re more than welcome to it if you’re interested. Not sure how much shipping would be to Australia, but if it’s cheap enough I could send it to you to make your lot worth it or send it for cost of shipping!
youtube algorithm send me here. thanks mate!
very nice made content.
i ignored the title because anything in Hugh's hands is repairable
I think the samsungs after s8 wont charge without the wireless charging coil
I think normally it would display a message saying it was to hot if the coil isn't connected, but it looks like not even that shows.
Check jerryrigeverything video for that issue
The coil has the motherboard temperature sensor on it and from what I know the phone has to be a certain temperature to start up
Had a similar issue with the random reboot on my galaxy note 4. It was a worn out nand flash
Hey hugh, will you be doing any Apple repairs soon?
Amazing video👌🏼
S8's still cost about 300$ new today! Great find!!!
Great vid! ♥️
First honest youtuber, buy something broken and still broken. All channels buy for 1$ a mac and always works everything...
Would you be offering them up for sale ?? I would love to buy the phone with the charging issue ...
cant wait to see the next video
Dude caught a cold 🥶
It makes me wonder how someone can destroy or damage a phone like that, ive had iPhones and now samsungs this year for 10 years now but never damaged a phone i had.
Main cause would have to be people not using cases I know I was one of them until I realized it's almost impossible not to drop your phone every once in a while and break it
I've never dropped any phones or cracked a screen that I use
They're alot of phones that are lemons. Not every phones made perfect. Like cars. You don't want a car built on Monday or Friday we say here in Detroit.
@Devin was it water proof?
@Devin 😂😂
This is a major win
Thanks for sharing this!
Cool Video 👌🏼
Love your videos
I love the s8 design
Hey Hugh. When you say dollar amounts in your videos, is it in US Dollars or AUD?
Hey Huge! Great video. For the one black S8 That did not boot I have a feeling that the bootloader it corrupt. If you plug it into a computer when you get working parts for it and it shows up as qdloader 9008 that's how you would know. If you look around you can find some firmware files. I have not been able to find bit 6 yet but I will keep looking.
Huge
With you they’ll work, you ate the Chris fix of phones 📱
I really would love to see this solder Board fixing!!! Can you make a video of it? Thanks a lot!
Try to flash the Software with Odin, this should solve this Boot issues!
Can I flash it with Buddha? 😂😂
My old Zte blade vantage used to reboot itself randomly, it eventually gave up and stopped accepting power, but the components were heating up really fast
Hugh, what temperature do you set the heat to when you use the hot air?
Back glass glue melts at 70-85 celsius and front glass melts at 90+ celsius
I know you don't work on samsung phones often but you cant charge them without the wireless charging pad because it has the battery heat sensor in it and the phone denies any power if it doesnt know the temparature.
When you heat up the back does the camera quality get altered because i saw you get a little close to the camera with the heat gun
Most likely not, glass isn't melting at those "low" temperatures
hey hugh where do you get your replacement screens and tools needed for the job would love to know so i can get in the business
You have to boot into the Bootloader mode and do a factory reset or reinstall the stock ROM for that model.
Sony was started with the idea that engineers can make things. You have same passion for repairing . Please make a mobile phone repairing startup.
Such beautiful hand devices🤤
For it to charge you gotta put the charging coil bc theres a protection system that in the coil
Hi, I recently bought an iPhone 6 on eBay. Little did I know in the fine print I looked at it after buying and it was iCloud locked. I don’t know any of the information about the iCloud account, what should I do? I really need help is there a way to take the iCloud lock away at something like an IT store?
Try to swap wireles charging coils. I think there is a temperature sensor on the black plastic cover. It prevents battery from charging if phone gets wrong values from this sensor. It could be broken. There is small chance to fix it because the phone charges wirelessly but still... And flash the second one. Maybe someone tried to root it or flash it with wrong build.
I find your videos very interesting. What do you doing with them after you've updated/repaired?
He Will Sale Them Probably!
He adds them to his collection
he sell it
With trash motherboards, You can always try heating them up with hot air gun. Have helped me few times. If there's some bad soldier point/connection has change to restore it. Have one samsung 9001 that was brought back to life with heat gun, my relative been using that for bout 2,5 years wo any problems :)
4:49 this motherboard has NC written on it, which means Not Charging.
6:16 this motherboard has ND written on it, which means No Display.

hey have you used odin to do a reset on that gold one ?
i wish im one that lucky who can recieve this if ever use this as give away to your view :) more fixing phones to come to watch and more blessing to you mr. hugh.
Could we send our phones to you so you can fix it because damn... you’re a god
There is a battery temp temperature sensing niblet on the wireless charging coil that keeps it from blowing up
You should try taking the phone with the crashing issues to a uBreakiFix because we can do a complete reflash (like Odin used to) except professionally and free because Samsung!
In the state of no-charging problem, I believe it's either the port's fault, or a faulty charging ic
Great video
I have a iPhone 6
It has a cracked screen
And it keep saying searching in the top left corner can it be fixed
You should plug in the wireless charger first for it to charge as it has a temperature sensor for overheating

Hey i got something to test for you :)
I have two Galaxy S7 edge Exynos models that were showing no signs of life.
One was my own that went black after a dropp.
I tried with Disconnecting the batery from the motherboard or thought it was a loose connection but nothing changed after a full disassembly.
Then i left it disconnected from the Battery for 2 weeks in the Frame.
After this time i was so confused that it bootet right up with no issues as i reconnected the Battery.
In fact im writing this text from this Phone.
It still has no issues after 6 Month of using.
Don't know why i had 2 boards of this failures but you can test that with the dead one too.
Maybe it helps. :)

I have been trying to repair the boot loop issues of the LG G4 for decades and still no solid repair on the mobo. 😔
Thanks Hugh. It's the charge controller that's broken mate. Although I doubt you ever read comments since you never respond to any.
How many parts in the S8 will work for the S9? Thank you 🤓
For the S8 with crashing issues, i'd suggest reflashing the original firmware, it helped my Note 9.
that was pretty dope
Did you look into the charging issue? Was the USB port soldered correctly? What about the charging ic?
Not yet run out of time. I was editing this video until 1am today. So I just haven't done any board diagnostics. Will look into it in the future.
do you have the equiptment to pull the CPU from the completely dead board and put is on the crashing board?
Have you tried Reflash using Odin with its original software on the one have software issues?
You can find software at www.sammobile.com/ and there is where i fix my Galaxy S6 with Vietnam software flashed to Malaysia software. Although it has to be compatible with the board which mine is G920F
