- Whether you like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, or Etta James, there's no denying that they're some of the most famous blues musicians of all time. This list of blues singers ranks the best blues music artists, singers, and musicians, and has been voted on and ranked by blues fans worldwide. These best blues singers are known for their great voices and music that will stand the test of time, and for spearheading legendary tracks with their good blues bands.
Note that this ranking is for blues artists only - no best blues rock bands here. Many of the greatest blues-men, old blues singers, and female blues artists are sadly no longer with us, but their legacies live on, often in rock artists who sold millions more records with versions of classic blues songs written by these great blues legends.

Robert Johnson ❤ Jimi Hendrix ❤
Hendrix : R&B/Blues/Rock.
Add Eddie “Guitar Slim” Jones
(The Things I Used To Do)
You tube the documentary on him. He was the bridge between blues and what would become rock n roll in the early 50s
@@jvs333
Before him there's Rosetta Tharpe.
Schon" extraordinary runs, including his sustained pauses.
Faltan: Mike Bloomfield,Paul Nelson,Paul Kossoff,John Premier.....
Wow, they forgot Eric Bourdon. from the Animals. that’s mostly what he sang most of his life. as a member of the Animals and as a soloist. Eric, is around in his early 80’s and still is singing the Blues.
Great list of musicians, period! I'm impressed that my personal favorite John Lee Hooker was rated the greatest of all time!
However, some musicians didn't belong on this list, period!
Also, the rankings were completely screwed up in a very big way. Regardless of that, there were plenty of talented and important creators of blues music.
In my opinion, Elvis Presley was the greatest white blues singer in history, and I don't recall seeing him on this list. I also don't recall seeing The Rolling Stones on this list either.
Jimmie Vaughan and Johnny "Guitar" Watson should have also been on this list along with Johnny Copeland, which influenced Stevie Ray Vaughan in a big way!
I would have left out the lightweights on this list to make room for these other cats.
Gary Moore was not British; he was from Belfast in Northern Ireland, which is most definitely not in Britain!
Eh ! you smoking something
@@kevster1007no. Why would you think that? You surely know that Northern Ireland is neither in nor a part of Great Britain? Please tell me you've heard of 'The Troubles'? Please tell me you've heard of 'The Good Friday Agreement'?
Man your fucked up
United Kingdom?
@@ianwilkinson2731yes.
you forgot Louisiana Red.
Just your opinion.
Which is soundtrack of this video???
It seems to me that they are three or four musicales pieces!!
Where is Derek Trucks?
No Rosetta Tharpe ?
Good video 👌🏼 and what the name of music please? Have a good day
Do Greatest Jazz Musicians 1949 - 1999 of All Time?
Robert Johnson should be #1, and Melvin Taylor should be on the list somewhere.
Sr rosetta tharpe and ike turner, where?
This list needs to be adjusted
Was Jimmy Rogers and Ike Turner on list?
JIMI HENDRIX THE GOAT was also a singer and song writer
Like most of the musicians in that list, maybe you don't know them???
paul butterfield and mike bloomfield..
Where is Eddie “Guitar Slim” Jones” ( the things i used to do) the father of what would be one rock n roll
No Dutch Mason?
This is cleary from someone who dont know blues. Its no way in hell you can leave jonnie Taylor, little milton, bobby rush, Tyrone davis and a lot more i can think of
Facts
Hendrix, Nina Simone, greats but not essentially blues ones.

Are you kidding?! Jimi Hendrix is essential to any list of great blues players period! He's easily one of the greatest guitar players in the genre! As a blues purist myself, he was responsible for my becoming a student and historian of the genre.

No, i'm very serious, listen to Hey Joe, Foxy Ladie....
Played essentially on a Sratocaster, not typically a blues guitar.
@joellebenoit9980
Listen to Red House, Voodoo Chile, Catfish Blues, and My Friend! The list is too long because Hendrix was influenced by the blues more than anything and about half of his catalog was blues music.
I highly recommend two Hendrix blues compilations. The first one is simply called Hendrix Blues and the other is a Hendrix Blues compilation by the great Martin Scorsese.
There are essential blues recordings!
Bro What Software or app do u use for making these videos??😊
Can you please reply bro?
Louis Armstrong 65! WTF?
I don't read howlinwolf
Hendrix? . . . . May as well complete the D.E.I. list and include Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Joe Biden. Jimi was a good rocker.
Second comment
Jimi Hendrix a blues musician? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's crazy to see majority of all the Black musicians on here are deceased but the White musicians on here are still alive, somebody make that make sense to me please ? SMH
Albert King said Hendrix was not a bluesman
Cause that clown was Jealous of Jimi.
How the hell can John Lee Hooker be better than the Father Of The Delta Blues Robert Johnson?? I would advise you to get schooled in real Blues, newbie
Why did you place so high over way better musicians. He is just a one tone wonder who butchers any cover version he does.
Susan Tedeschi, Kenny Wayne Shepperd, Bonamassa at the same level of the others in the List, IS A JOKE?
