Oh man you have something waiting for you... the Stormtrooper song from their latest album is one of my favorites on that album. Along with Lady of the Dark, of course. Gotta give an omage to the ladies as well. But you'll get to them at some point xD
By the way.... When you were shocked that the french soldiers threw down their weapons in a panic... I mean, if you woke up i nthe middle of the night by a surprise attack, and what u see is a whole army of TANKS coming at you, already destroying your own tanks....... would you really take your weapon and shoot at the tank? Hoping to do what?
No, I'm pretty sure you would lay down your gun, run and if captured at least hope to not be shot. At least a prisoner is alive. Ah, well.... unless they put you in the wrong kind of prison, that is.

French and generally Western European POW’s were usually treated better than those Germans considered “undesirable”.

4:38 Stormtroopers (Sturmtruppen) were specialist Infantry soldiers of the German Army In the last years of WWI. Also know as "Shock troops" they were trained in infiltration tactics and specialised in attacking enemy trenchs.

Ah OK, I've heard of shock troops before but that as back when it was swords and shields, shock troops usually were dual wielding ot are wielding troops.
Can't wait to react to that song! Thanks brother!!!

@10:50 who would throw down their weapons and run in the middle of a battle?
    The french in ww2 lol
Sorry France, you did it to yourselves, 1000 years of impressive military history shattered in a month.

The reason why the French soldiers dropped their weapons is that they were caught off guard.
Now, you say "who would drop their weapons in a war" but you forget that this was way behind the frontlines. Rommel broke through so deep into French territory, behind the frontline, so quickly, that none of the French soldiers in that region were expecting to see, let alone take part in, any fighting.
They believed that they were safe, on their own territory, actual combat many miles away, parked their vehicles by the roadside in a straight line and went to sleep nearby. They expected complete safety only to be rudely awakened by Rommel as he destroyed their vehicles, that's a shocking thing to wake up to and in that moment the first thing you think of is to run away and survive, you'd forgive them under these circumstances if they forgot to put on clothes, let alone grab their equipment and weapons.

I understand completely, I recall saying in the video that I don't know what I would have done in that situation. I'd hope I'd stand and fight til I die but that's me merely speaking about it with my privileged foresight.
I'm not saying Americans think or act a certain way (we don't) compared to others when it comes to Valor. All I know is I would rather die fighting (again, HOPEFULLY) than simply laying down my arms, surprised or not.
I'm glad others laid their lives on the line so I would never have to know. Thanks for your input friend!!!

The destruction involved in this battle action is deplorable. War is bad. Paradoxically, this history and song are interesting, and have inspired some satire of the event. There is a lot of satire in the posts for Ghost Division - Rommel's 7th Panzer Division - Sabaton History 073 [Official]. My favorite is having Rommel say, "THAT was the Maginot Line?"

Forgot to add that the tank on stage is named Audie, for Audie Murphy, WW2 soldier. He wrote a book, "To Hell and Back," that contained a poem he wrote, "The Crosses Grow at Anzio." Then, Sabaton made a song about Audie, and Audie's son approved.
