thanks for making this vid. man! glad to see someone finally did a diy on removing exhausts!
Yeah! I looked around on youtube, nobody has really gone into depth really showing how to remove the exhaust! Thanks for watching!
Is this the same thing as a catalytic converter?
@@LuzEterna6937 the cat is part of the exhaust system, but in this case I think he started to separate the exhaust system just past where his cats are. they were barely visible when he first started to undo bolts at the front. the repair manual says that the catalytic converters on this model BMW is integral with the exhaust manifold, closer to the engine
Nice Video!
Hey, at 1:03. Do you know the name of that specific part? Mine is rusty and I have to replace it but don't know what it's called.
Thanks
Magic, thanks for the video! You’ve just helped massively 👍
0:52, wow that flange was rusted beyond belief. Was there any material left after cleaning? It looked like rusted through 100%.
Thank you. I need to prepare for installing the cable from the battery to the engine. Bmw E60.
Great vid! Do you plan on doing maintenance on the car yourself? I know I plan to on my e90 and whenever you end up doing brakes (if you're doing them yourself) a video would be so helpful (no rush on that though, the dealer just replaced my brakes before I bought the car)...I love your tutorials...straight forward and easy to follow.
chris thank you very much, I appreciate it! Yes I plan to do as much maintenance as possible. My brakes were also replaced by the dealer before I bought my car, but I will definitely do a video on brake replacement in the future. I'm glad you find my videos helpful, and props for doing maintenance yourself!
could this work for a '06 325xi or does it have to be a 328i?
hey man i just stumbled across your channel looking for a way to delete the muffler, i've been trying to make mine loud. it's funny cause you've done almost all of the things i've done to the light up logo, carbon wrap interior , just kinda interesting seeing something so similar
Tony Quinn awesome! I kept my muffler but I can bypass it remotely from my drivers seat at any time to make the car louder. I like this because you can make it quiet when you need to. I'll post a video on the electric exhaust valve really soon!
Great video, thank you for publishing this. A great help
Glad to help!
Do you know if this is the same thing as a catalytic convertrr
Where did you get the wrap for the interior panels?
Denzel Marrow I purchased some common carbon fiber vinyl wrap on Amazon...it was about $40 for all 3 rolls!
At 1:17 is that bolt connected to anything at the top? On my e92 2007 328i it rattles and I need to replace it, but idk if the bolt is connected to the “clamp”
you can buy that bolt from FCPeuro.
in the midwest winters with snow, salt, sleet, ice a exhaust aint that easy to slide off....
This is true!
Did you have to disconnect any sensors
Nope!
Its weird, my secondary cats are right after the connection point to the manifolds, these are much further down
Huh... that is weird.
Jo el it should be your primary cats literally on your manifold then it should pipe down to the connection then the secondary idk what the heck your car is doing haha
Cheers buddy
🤟 Cheers!
What is the black thing on the back of the muffler on the back right side?
The black cylinder? That's a great question! I'm not exactly sure
It acts as a vibration dampener
You should update or add to you into with all the things you've done
John Watson what?
I think what John Watson is saying is that you should add a list of modifications you've done in the description of every video along a link to where you got each part.
Keola Ramirez ok thanks!
JD Cars when your intro song cues, as the music changes, maybe include more recent shots with your new grill, headlights, badge removals etc.
John Watson good point, i'll update the intro soon!
I was in construction and did a lot of remodeling and used a skateboard for moving nasty toilets around. 101 uses
Hahaha so true. Many uses.
This is probably a stupid question but..... how can you tell if your BMW is a E90?
NewAgeCali e90: 4 doors sedan, e91 4 doors estate, e92 2 doors coupe, e93 2 doors cabriolet
NewAgeCali It's actually any 3 series BMW from 2006 to 2012
JD Cars ohhh ok thx lol. Will you be doing a follow up video on your exhaust because I am curious to see how your car sounds because I think we have the same car if your car is a 2007 328i
NewAgeCali yes I will post a follow up video soon!
JD Cars no it’s any 3 series 4 door sedan from 2006 to 2012
Give us an estimate for the weight bro
Of
Where is the cat ???? I need to know i have yo rekove my cat and replace it with a nrw one :p nice video
The secondary cats are the two cans that come first (closest to engine). The primary cat is connected to the engine.
Who else is here because they can't get their transfer case bracket bolt back in and are desperate to get the damn exhaust pipes out of the way? 😂
Similar. I'm here because I'm about to remove/replace my transfer case on my 2009 535ix, and I need to drop the exhaust to do it.
Music vary distracting and loud.
The intro is too long, your video would be very good without the music in the background.
