HOW TO DELETE SECONDARY CATS (FOR FREE) // BMW N52

  • Today on JD Cars, Sam and I are sharing with you the process of decatting his BMW E92 (this video was filmed over the winter holiday break). This is a very simple and cheap way to achieve a louder exhaust note! We were originally considering “deleting” Sam’s cats--cutting the cats out and replacing them with pipe. This seems like a good option until you encounter the angle at which the cats are welded in. Thus, decatting was the easiest option for us, and I think it worked out well! I hope you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe for more BMW content!

Unbolt the pipe from the headers then cut both off the cats on the side closer to the rear of the car. No you do not get a engine check light.I own a 328xi 2007 I deleted both of my secondary’s yesterday no engine light. Why you may ask ? Explanation is very easy the secondary cats do not have the 02 sensors. therefore once cut out it does not trigger a engine check light. However primary catalytic converters have 02 sensors therefore if you cut out the primary it will trigger a engine light as the amount of air is not being measured/detected.

    • @aimized1460
      @aimized1460 Před 2 lety

      @@chrischambers7103 if your removing primary cats it will trigger a engine check light as there is 02 sensor slots built into the primary’s. Only way to remove the engine light would be to tune it out with a option for “catless down pipes”. Again if secondary’s catalytic converters are cut out they do not trigger any sort of engine light. It’s if as nothing happened to your car but it got louder. Cheers man and don’t relay on people’s information from a CZcams comment because half of the time they don’t know what there saying. Proof is right here man.
