    I have an exhaust leak. I think there may be a crack in one of the manifolds. I am going to soap test it first with a vacuum up the exhaust and if I can’t find it then I am going to assume it’s the gaskets. Your video is awesome. I was scared of this job before but now it looks doable. Thank you.

    Excellent work! This is the best header install video on YT, clear and easy to understand. How hard was it to remove the headers from the bottom and did the car need to be really high on jackstands to manover it out or just regular oil change height? Also were you able to remove all the nuts from the top? Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to seeing your next project.

      Thanks William, much appreciated!! The manifold was pretty easy to remove from the bottom of the car. Probably needed to jack the car up a little higher than an oil change-height, but not a crazy amount. I had mine on 6ton jack stands, which at their lowest level, was enough room to remove them. I was able to remove all the nuts from the top side. You could maybe remove the back nuts on bank 2 from the bottom side, but for me, it was easier just to do it all from the top. Thanks for watching, hope this helps!

    Let me talk about the process I've went through. On my BMW e92 328i (2013) I've tried to take exhaust off from underneath. But there four bolts were just a pieces of solid rust, no hex-bolts just four rounded brown rusted pieces. I was trying to break them off, try to fit with a hummer nuts smaller socket over that nuts, trying warm up with a torch. All of those methods was unsuccessful. There no enough room to cut them off with the angle grinder, it is possible only two of them that comes from a bottom. So that is way I found your video. Maybe try to remove whole exhaust system including exhaust manifold and then split them on the ground.

    So glad to have found this video. Had been searching so hard to find the proper way to do this. I think I need to replace bank 2 manifold on my 2011 328i as I am getting P0430 code. Not getting code for bank 1 so I dont think I need to replace both. Will replace O2 sensors first before getting new manifold. Can bank 2 manifold be taken out without messing with bank 1? Thanks for making this great video

    • @evergreenbrothers
      @evergreenbrothers  Před 3 lety +1

      Absolutely, you're welcome! I'm not entirely sure if you could remove bank 2 without removing bank 1 manifold. It might be possible. You should be able to get all the nuts off without having to remove bank 1 nuts and separate it from the studs. My only hesitation is when removing the manifolds from the bottom side of the car, it was fairly tight, but it might be possible. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.

    It´s the best video about this on the net. Could you tell us wich ratchet are you using? I have to buy some tools and I have a doubt between 1/4 or 3/8 ratchets. Wich torque tool do you use? Thanks a lot!

    • @evergreenbrothers
      @evergreenbrothers  Před 3 lety

      I would buy both 1/4" and 3/8". Sometimes you need the mobility and low profile of the 1/4" for some bolts, and other times you need a little bit more power with the 3/8" ratchet. Not sure where you are located, but some harbor freight ratchets will get the job done for cheap. Hope this helps, thanks for the shoutout!

    Hello thank you for your very helpfull video it looks really easy to do it. I am planning to swap my stock headers with a performance one and watching this video will help me do it easier. I’ve watched it three times to understand it and its good, although i have a question, i have a 2007 325i e92, this will be pretty much the same right? And also i saw that you removed the o2 sensor first but is it possible to only disconnect the o2 sensor, then take the header out and then remove the o2 sensor using a wrench, so you don’t need to buy the special key for the o2 sensor?

    • @evergreenbrothers
      @evergreenbrothers  Před 3 lety

      No problem, you're welcome. Yeah it wasn't too bad, just took a while to get at every nut. I think there is enough clearance to get the header out from the bottom with the O2 sensor still attached, once all the bolts are off. The issue may be that the O2 sensor will get in the way when trying to remove all the nuts. It is pretty tight trying to get your arms and ratchet in there, and the O2 sensors may impact your ability to get the nuts off. I went to harbor freight and got a very basic O2 sensor socket for $8, and it was well worth it. You may give it a shot without the socket, but it was well worth it when I did it. Hope this helps, good luck!

      I know it takes a long time to drill out those bolts But I think it is the best way to go.
      You can heat them up to cherry red beforehand and then let them cool nuturally for a few hours. This will soften the bolts and make drilling easier.
