    I’m with you on the OFHG… I have two N52 cars (08 manual 530xi sedan and 07 auto 328xi wagon). I have probably done 4 of those gaskets in 120k miles combined (all non OE gaskets).
    Regarding the water pump- who in their right mind would put in a knock off water pump- it takes an e tire afternoon to Tetris that thing around the subframe… that is a clear job to do once and only once).

    How to interpret irregular operation values in ISTA-D? Cylinder 5 in my N52 goes up to 300, when the target value is between -200 and 200. New plugs, new coils, just sent injectors for testing, come back perfect, still has this issue, what could it be? Appreciate the videos.

    Great video, I’ve been using euro blend 5w-30 from Castrol with the bmw LL-01 certification at 7.5k mile intervals since my car hit 120k miles and I’m now at 149k miles. Do you still recommend going to 5w-40 oil viscosity if I’m in California and we have very hot weather all year round? Great video and all good points love the videos man, keep it up.

    • @Coderedpirate
      @Coderedpirate Před 2 lety +3

      5W-40 is actually better in higher temperature climates, the 40 indicates it’s more viscous at higher temperatures allowing your engine to run much better. 5W-30 and 5W-40 should run the same in colder temperatures too, due to the “5W” marking being the same
      I live in Vegas so it’s even hotter over here year round and 5W-40 is perfect. I’d recommend to start changing your intervals to every 5k max since you car is starting to hike up in mileage. It might seem pretty frequent, but if you buy from FCPEURO they have a life time warranty, I pretty much only spend $15 for shipping on my oil changes now

    We need a video on diagnosing the pesky 2c32 issue even after changing all o2 sensors with genuine BMW or Bosche parts. People are plagued with this and different scan tools will relay different codes. Also explain fuel trim and how a good sensor can be swapped and still not be able to trim due to a vacuum issue or electrical issue

    Hi there Dean. I am the owner of a 2009 bmw 128i and today I decided to finally do the valve cover gasket on my car. Unfortunately I am not very experienced so in the process of removing the cover I accidentally tore off and broke a little piece from the valve cover on the inside where there is a little kidney looking valve. My question is what does that do and what should I do now? Also when I was taking off the breather hose I broke the little tab that you have to press in but the hose itself is stil intact. Is that enough to hold it in place? Would you recommend that I just replace the whole valve cover or can I get away without that? Thanks. Rookie mistakes I know but this is my first time working on my car!
