      I think I still like the first couple of seasons. I liked the artwork and the voices in those. They had King Robert, Stannis, Tywin, Robb Stark etc. I'm not saying these aren't good but idk they seemed to fill In history talked about the show but these later ones are giving backstory to things never discussed in show, I.e. Dance of Dragons. Dont get me wrong I like it. I love the books and lore but have grown very meh of the show. It's not as smart as it once was. Seems like they are all about set pieces for big action scenes now. And the stupid fast travel to everywhere really takes me out of it. The have really hurt Tyrions and Varys charactersa lot. They used to be 2 of the most cunning and intelligent guys in the realm and now they are glorified side kicks. They have done bad with a few other characters but those two were probably my favorites. So it just sucks to see that. I like the show and will watch it but I'll go ahead and sound like a total douche and say the books are way better. Now I understand why my gf was so upset at the Harry Potter movies being inferior to books haha.

      @@thomasc.5219
      I agree. They really dumbed down Tyrion and Varys... at least Olenna's death was well done.
      The Sand Snakes were a disgrace from beginning to end.
      Also... Why did they hunt for a wight? They can't tell me that there was no old man or woman, who recently died in the North or those that reanimated Bear killed. Why didn't they put their bound bodies outside the Wall until they became Wights anyway and then get them inside.
      I definitely wad unhappy that they killed Viserion.
      But I still most like this History and Lore. It was cohesive and the art was nice. I think the link to the season was that they want to kind of compare the First Targaryen Conquest with the Second one.

      If you are really into the lore. I insist you read the books. And also the spinoff ones too. They add so much to the world. Especially Essos which they dont ever bring up in the show or these videos very much. There is so much interesting things in Essos. History of Kingdoms that put Westeros to shame. Places like Asshia that are so full of mystery is ridiculous. But if you aren't into the books. There is a podcast called Radio Westeros. They have a channel onCZcams. They do a great job of breaking down individual characters and the lore. And its entertaining. So you can get full histories about things without reading the books. Just stay away from Preston Jacob's. He has far out theories that dont make sense and would just confuse you. Also Alt Shift X does good stuff but if other parts of the lore interest you give Civilation X a look. He does nice short videos to give breakdowns of different parts of the GOT world and civilizations that these videos dont ever cover. This is just my suggestion if your interested. I love the books and lore so I try and point people that like it too in directions to see more that dont have time to get into the books. Hope you enjoy it, if not it's okay but still always good to talk to a fan of the series.

      Well for some reason they are using a long dead character voice for something that a different character could be voicing... I’m just wondering if he is going to make an appearance in the 8th season in like a dream of danys or something.

      Cj Ray the actor does a lot of voice over work for GoT series stuff. He voices the entirety of the audiobook for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

      Its more for real life than fictional reasons I think. The actor has a great voice for it and I would think he's a great deal cheaper to hire than the actors who're on the show so long they've become superstars.

      I don't think it's supposed to be anything like that. He just does great voice over work so it's entertaining to listen to him. Plus it's kinda cool listening to everyone talk about the history while in character.

    Ugh, the Lannisters aren't "broke" in the books. Not a problem at all with their mines, just no Lannisters in Casterly Rock anymore, 2nd cousins. If anything happens to Cersei and Jaime, Tyrion will inherit. If not him, then their cousin, Ser Daven Lannister, the Warden of the West will take over.

      @@lilitharam44 Okay, but again, why does it matter? It's perfectly sensible that after loaning the crown this and that for over a decade under Baratheon rule and then fighting a multi-front war against the North, the Stormlands, and the Riverlands, that the Lannisters could go broke. Gold is not an infinite resource and even if Martin isn't planning on introducing that element, it's a perfectly valid plot point that adds to the pressure Cersei is under following Tywin's death. Of all the things you book readers complain about, this grasping at straws stuff is the most annoying. It's a plot point that doesn't damage much of anything and it's realistic.

    • @lilitharam44
      @lilitharam44 Před 5 lety +1

      @@vincentdawn9689 Cersei isn't under any pressure to repay crown loans after Tywin's death. Since with Tyrion in exile and Jaime the Lord Commander of the King's Guard, she is in effect the Lion of the Rock now and it would be like repaying the debt to herself. I am not saying that she doesn't want the money back in family hands, just that it isn't a pressing concern. The loans came from the Lannister family, which she is now head of. It was a pointless and annoying plot point that could easily have been left out. It gained nothing except to attempt to make Tywin look deceitful, which he was but not about the family finances. It in essence smears the name of the Lannisters unnecessarily, they're doing that enough on their own.
