Seriously! Why the hell is the history of Game of Thrones or Tolkien's world for that matter, SO MUCH more interesting than most of our history?
That's because you'd rather believe in the world of fairytales than reality. There's a reason why the statement "Truth is stranger than fiction" exists. Stop watching YT videos and read a book once in a while. You'll start to see that, no matter the country, there's always tales of deceit, triumph, shame, defeat and victory to be found.

You will not see the same quality animations by CZcams creators because these are special features from the GOT DVDs and would have cost the studio hundreds of thousands to create.

It’s so funny that Joffrey speaks of incest in a hateful manner when he’s a product of it.
Opens up a crazy wormhole of self hate. He had heard the rumors but didn't believe them... But had he lived longer and been more given to introspection, he might have come to realize. It would have went one of two ways, self-hatred that lead to even more extreme sadism or extreme religious fanaticism-driven purges.

So we know that King Aegon built the iron throne to be sharp so that one would have to be cautious when sitting and thus be cautious in ruling. But how the hell was Maegor so mental?

Maegor was crazy because his parents were siblings, just like Joffrey ;).
The responses already written are amusing, and possibly all the truth we need know, but I will offer a different explanation.
Maegor was the son of the Conqueror and his sister Visenya, but he was a Second son, and thus was never intended to rule. He was also tall, strong and bullish, and excelled in all the martial skills. Despite his "pure" Targaryen blood, Maegor had few physical defects stemming from inbreeding...at least not visible. I suspect he was afflicted ny the same pituitary mutation as Gregor Clegane. Whilenit gave Maegor and Gregor size and strength, it also can lead to intense physical pain which manifests as violent outbursts.
Look long enough at the character and actions of the two men, and the similarities are not difficult to compare. Just a thought.

Just shows you how much Varys and LF believed in "Playing the Game". Varys won and Littlefinger lost, all because Baelish wanted to be "King of the Ashes". He fucked over the Starks too many times.

I dislike the fact that the writer gave the impression that LittleFinger was ignorant enough to ask this question.
That is beneath him, and his cunning and intellect. He NEVER would have asked this question, especially to Varys. These are the two smartest, sneakiness, and tactful men in all of Westerose.
I don't agree that LittleFinger would have actually asked this question, unless, it just happened to be meant as almost a sarcastic remark (just to make the statement that the Mad King was, in fact, Mad, or something, and did rational things.
But the implication of that wasn't strong enough for most people to get it, especially due to Varys's response to him, "You know damn well a feud doesn't end unless all of the insulted or wrongfully persecuted party/family is completely exinguished." That was basically what his reply was.
I just.....didn't like it. It was NOT in his character.

In the books, hes about to lead a huge battle at Meereen and he's acting as hand of the queen for dany while she's away with drogon. Hes an awesome character, his are often my favourite POV chapters in dance. Always waxing lyrical about being old and remembering really important stuff about roberts rebellion
I love the implication that Petyr actually respects Ned. Not enough to not betray him, but in a "if the world were different" sort of way.

I hope we get to see the Neck in the last season. It's seems so low-key, secluded, and cozy for a swampy land in the North to get wrapped up in all the war and strife. I imagine it will be difficult for the Dead to cross those swamps without sinking.

petyrs death was a joke. the build up was horrendous and nonsensical and to have him killed the actually nerfed him. he was unreasonably dumbed down in season 7. also, having him killed that way after everything he has done throughout the seasons was anticlimactic as fuck
