Sad news, on this day in 1996 (23 yrs ago) Ray Combs died. on this day in 2012 (7 yrs ago) Richard Dawson died. in memoriam of the original hosts of Family Feud. Sunday June 2, 2019.
Feud did air in syndicated reruns in 1985-86, Viacom did put out a "Best of Family Feud" package for syndication that season. WOR in NYC aired it weeknights at 8:30PM when Mets baseball didn't preempt it.
Steve Harvey: We have a good one today folks! All the way from rural Kentucky, it's the champs! The Hatfield family! And all the way from Tug Fork, West Virginia, It's the McCoy family!
Both very cool....of course, I could see why Goodson and the powers that be probably didn't want fiddles all over the place...It was already "Feud-y" enough, why overdo it.
Would have made for a good theme for a video game version...in fact, wouldn't it be cool if they came out with a version of the Family Feud for, say, the Xbox One where you could customize it with your favorite theme song and decor?

It sounds like these tunes were played in a different key than the themes that were used.

Richard Dawson's version.
I like these :)
I think from the style of the music and the striking similarties of this theme to the pilot theme, that this was unused original music, honestly.
Feud never had episodes in 86 or 87. They were off the air from fall of 85 (June on Network TV), till July 4th, 1988.
ajk WWOR-TV In NJ/NY aired the best of “Family Feud” after its cancellation in 1985. It ran in 1986.
They used the first version in early Feud episodes.
Do &fmt=22 to make the sound even better!

Sounds like a few versions playing over one another...
And the pilot is primarily a banjo...

The 1993-94 season had WWOR airing a first run episode of Combs Feud at 4PM followed by a rerun from a past season on 4:30PM EST.
Ach Botanicals family's z 0- fire feuding 0 q family feud we 9
How do you know this for the next season? Where did you get it?
It's already posted on CZcams.
And most of those reruns would be from celeb weeks.
The first one feels like a perka cola theme from black ops zombies
Exactly where does it say this at?
You almost made me hate game shows and was about to subscribe to your channel
Play family feud before
Yo dawg, we heard you like fiddles...
psuforever14
sounds like your tried but true square dance music lol...
Was this a live band or was this synthesized?
Probably a recording of an in-person orchestra (or band, depending on existence of strings).
