Love the saxophone bit during the second part. Gives it a jazzy touch!
"This is Gene Wood speaking for Family Feud. A Mark Goodson television production."
Best theme out of them all
Jason9811 I most definitely agree the best theme of them all
I love this version, too.
Observing how the Packard/Ferranti board in the '94 version flips in 4 quadrants, where the 1976-85 board flipped one row at a time. I read somewhere that the original "Feud" set was damaged/destroyed after being left outdoors.
Huh. I never heard about that, but it would make sense. It would have to have been sometime after Ray Combs' final episode was taped, as that was when the original set was last used.
Here are some facts for ya:
The 1994/1995 Season was not only Dawson's Comeback, but it was also the Final Season for Full House, SWAT KATS: The Radical Squadron, Matlock w/the late Andy Griffith, Perry Mason Movie Mysteries, In the Heat of the Night w/the late Carroll O'Connor, Blossom Starring Mayim Bialik, Garfield & Friends, Empty Nest w/the late Richard Mulligan and Park Overall and The Original Star Search w/the late Ed McMahon
also, the Houston Rockets lead by Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon and Kenny Smith won their 2nd straight NBA Title against the Orlando Magic and the Power Rangers returned with the Thunderzords and the White Tigerzord as well as Tor the Shuttlezord
Plus, California Dreams were back and they had 2 new members in Mark Winkle and the Biggest Supporter Lorena Marina Costa who would end up becoming Sly Winkle's Girlfriend in the Final Season of the series
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also changed its theme as did Hangin' with Mr. Cooper
The Original American Gladiators were back and so was Dan "Nitro" Clark and Hulk Hogan and STING Ruled WCW while Bret "The Hitman" Hart RULED the WWF and Harlem Heat would soon become THE Hottest Tag Team in Professional Wrestling
also, Oprah & Ricki Lake were still the QUEENS of Daytime Talk, Soul Train was still the Hippest Trip in America, the late TV Icon Dick Clark was still KING of New Year's Rockin' Eve and the American Music Awards and the late Casey Kasem was still KING of Casey's Top 40
It was also the first season of NFL on Fox.
The NFL was also on TNT on Sunday Nights long before NBC brought it back in 2006 as Sunday Night Football
A Mark GOODSON, Television Production!
It's sad to know that this version of Family Feud, alongside it's sister show The New (syndicated) Price is Right got cancelled the same year, 1995. Both shows had potential of becoming the next wave of syndicated game shows, but thanks to the OJ Simpson trials, both shows got pushed to the late night slots and got the axe shortly after.
Why they (Mark Goodson Productions) didn't air them on cable television networks will forever remain a mystery...
+THE OFFICIAL TBONE2004
The OJ Simpson trial had nothing to do with it. Even if it never occurred, they still would have been cancelled on account of the ratings.
+THE OFFICIAL TBONE2004 GSN did air the 1994-95 family feud.and let's not forget bad set changes and bad rules let family feud's cancellations.
+Afi James All of the reasons mentioned before, plus the addition of Bull's-eye/Bank Roll kind of rushed show imo.
Well the Bankroll Game I guess you can say was the idea of Dawson, he stated on E! that he was never a fan of the Bulls-eye Game
This music is done by the same artist who composed Double Dare.
Oh yeah other people tell me they like Steve, I just don't have the same sense of humor (I'm not into the dirtier questions). I did see the promo & I will tune in when I can.
@BMANBLAKNBLU It would have been cool to hear, "This is Burton Richardson speaking for Family Feud. A Freemantle Media production."
@BMANBLAKNBLU I like the original, but for Steve Harvey, this is perfect for him!
Family Feud should change the current theme song to this (my honest opinion).
I would love to hear this or the Anderson-Karn theme, I just think the Ray Combs theme is getting kinda outdated more importantly getting old.
***** I don't watch Steve's version.
cutemimi25 No, the current arrangement of the Combs theme is getting old.
+SONIC TAYLOR Doesn't fit today. Besides, what we have now is far more nostalgic. You'll have a better chance of a new re-orchestrated version of the '88 theme or the '99 theme than this version.
I agree, actually. This version of the theme would fit the current version much better than the current Combs theme.
This should be the theme for the Australian version
Because according to Family Misfortunes hosted by Les Dennis, he said that the first host of Family Fortunes Bob Monkhouse suggested they call the show Family Fortunes because the title Family Feud might be too aggressive.
@ThePatrickinator And the DD music package is awesome :)
Why is this show called Family Feud? Do they argue? We call it Family Fortunes here in the UK.
FremantleMedia owns Mark Goodson.
What you think of Steve Harvey hosting the Feud?
@talladegajunkie1439 I found it on a site associated with Wowowee, but I can't seem to find it right now.
Where did u get that FF board replica???
wouldn't this be edd kalehoff?
@tnawcwvictoria I couldn't agree with you more, Mark Goodson trumps FremantleMedia.
keep the original one I say.
Can't be! If he was, he wouldn't have a 5th season in the future. A lot of contestants say he's doing a great job. Matter of fact, The first two seasons he did were hilarious. The "Penis" (S1) and "Butt" (S2) fast money answers had me rolling!! You should see the promo for S3! They bought back the trilon effect for the board!
How do I see the promo?
I'm still waiting.
Will not fit. It would fit far more as a car cue for TPIR.
+Leo Vargas
What is to wait for? This theme is more likely to be used as a car cue on TPIR than as the current Family Feud theme (this version is far inferior to what we have now).
Find it yet?
To be perfectly honest I think he's dry, at times he looks disinterested.
