Placing Robbie in between Flav and Buvey is genius lol
Ruben Dias is a leader and organiser, in the more traditional Adams, Terry, Kompany mould, for City.
It is no coincidence that City's defence has improved since he came back from injury.
He isn't the best around on the ball, he's not the quickest around or the most dominant in the air, but he makes others around him so much better, keeps the backline together and puts his body on the line. Both Dias and Saliba have been the most consequential CBs in the PL this season.

@@davidevans6755 did they?
It's definitely been a mentality Issue. Let's be honest. Arsenal could feasibly lose to Man City in any form or season. But drawing at home and scraping a draw against southampton after being so dominant all season, can truly only be down to a mentality issue. The pressure being too much for them.
I don't think Southampton was to do with pressure. I think it was more to do with naivety in that they thought it would be an easy 3 points
@@Mrvsg20 hence mentality issue
@@Fernanch07 Southampton just took their chances
City have the stronger squad and can rotate. Arsenal without saliba and had no jesus for months which made the weaker
City don't have that issues. And that's why they are on a winning streak. City have dropped points to small clubs, lost to Southampton in the league cup
The issue is that arsenal lost twice to city. Even if it was 1 draw, they would still be in it. City were just better than them

Gary has it right on the leaders discussion - at the start of the season, Zinchenko, Jesus were praised for bringing their title experience to the club yet when it comes to the crunch, they've not been able to lead in those tricky moments.
Because them two were not relied upon to carry City towards the business end.
One of first things I noticed personally before the season even got underway, was that I felt Arsenal didn’t sign enough experienced players, or players with leadership qualities to pull them through difficult matches when it got tough.
I knew that would always come back to haunt Arsenal that.
They signed players like Fabio Viera a young player, Marquinhos another young player.
Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko I thought were decent signings but it was never enough to win a title imo.
They’ve had a great season but not surprised they fell short.
I think finding themselves in 2nd place surprised a lot of Arsenal fans to be honest.
I never bought the hype and I think next season it’s gonna be more difficult for Arsenal with so many other teams that will improve.
Man City are way ahead of everyone else.
Leadership isn't about being loud it's about consistency. KDB picked up that and delivered a performance, the 'leaders' for arsenal have been costing them games. It's embarrassing, Arteta is using Man City tactics for the 100 point season and expected to win against the man who wrote the playbook.
Not embarassing getting Arsenal to actually challenge, what are the rest of the teams like Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs actually doing ? Yes their embarrassing not even challenging City FACTS....Waiting for excuses in 1,2,3......
@@The_Dead_Zone Man utd are probably going to finish 3rd, definitely in the top 4, and already have a trophy and are in another final. This is in Ten hags first season. Arsenal are gonna probably finish 8 points behind city with sweet F/A won.🤣🤣🤣
When they were talking about Partey and leaders I was really hoping someone would bring up Jack Grealish grabbing Partey and making him look like a little bitch. Grealish of all the little pansys to be cowering against.
Now imagine Grealish grabbing Keano, Viera or John Terry. Grealish would be on the floor in a heap, no actually Grealish would not have even dared to get to that point. that is the difference in leadership in a nutshell.

the attempt at playing down Liverpools quadruple chances was a stretch. City were losing 2-0 with 20 minutes left on the final day and Liverpool were in the UCL final as well. I was terrified.
Exactly, like how can you play that down just because it didn't happen. It nearly happen. In hindsight if Liverpool win the league last season the result in the cl final might have been different
It's so disingenuous.
That Liverpool game was still 1-1 when City are were losing, but I reckon City and their fans might have got real anxious had Liverpool been winning at the time.
I think he meant no one seriously thought Liverpool would win the prem over city even though the final day was crazy
Liverpool had the easiest road to a Final in CL history & City were in the lead for the CL all season..... only thing Legendary about Liverpool's 21/22' season was they had a 2nd place parade after...... stop w/ revisionist history 🤣🤣🤣
@@jackzeldon2883 mate you need to look at your club before laughing at others.
City have captains and leaders all over the pitch, Dias, Rodri, KDB, Gundogan, all have experienced difficult games, and come through by drawing on that experience. Arsenal, both players and manager are breaking new ground, it’s not bottling it, it’s taking steps forward, it’s just that they’ve taken giant steps this season very quickly
Yes! We've taken giant steps forward this season, but ultimately we've BOTTLED The Title...it's really that simple - cos a team can't have lead The League for more than 3/4 of a season, and then proceeded to have the biggest meltdown ever seen in Premier League history if this isn't BOTTLING in the very truest sense of the expression!
Grealish was a great leader and super captain for us (villa)
8 points clear absolutely gave up at west ham game they should have done what they did all season
What if Arsenal had a slow start to the season, and then got virtually maximum points from the 2nd half? Everyone would be hailing them as contenders for the title next season, it’s all about context. A young squad, a young inexperienced manager, they’re all new to this apart from Zinny & Jesus. Both players and manager need to learn from this experience. Would Pep managing this side done a better job at the business end of the season?, no doubtI but it’s Arteta’s first managerial job, he’s not going to be perfect from the off! And it’s the first time many of these players have experienced this level of sustained pressure, they will hopefully learn. Progress usually comes in smaller increments, not the huge leap Arsenal have made. I’m not an Arsenal fan either.
It's harsh to say a young team bottled it when one of the great teams in the 140 yr history of Eng Football tracked them down - but when you have a chance to win the League - you Must bring it home..... remember last yr when Liverpool had a parade to celebrate almost winning a quad? Me Either
"Dip at the wrong time" perfectly put. From a development pov arteta has done brilliantly . Yes he lacks a bit of big balls energy but he'll get that in a few years
Why are Arsenal scared of the word ‘bottle’. Grow a pair. We’ve all done it. Own it. Footballs gone soft
You can't compare a single cup game to a title challenge contested over many games. Maybe you don't turn up on the night in the UCL, but to squander an 8 point lead over the course of a few weeks is the literal definition of 'bottling it'.
It is. Squandering the lead against Real Madrid last year was also bottling it.
Man shitty glory hole hunter twaat? Guardiola bottled every champions league season since joining Bayern. man spends a trillion on players & still bottles it
I distinctly remember the last overlap when Arsenal were clear, and Gary Neville said City would win it... the atmosphere in that room, and some of the faces that Arsenal woman in particular was pulling at him, was so unbelievable, and absolutely derogatory, it was horrible to watch...
End of the day, he was at the absolute top of the game, these fans are nobodies when it comes to football, like me and everyone who reads this (unless your a top level pro footballer...), we're just FANS, these people on these panels representing 'their club' are being given too big of a voice for who they are and what theyve done and it shows. The rudeness that fans of teams at the top treat fans that are below their team is mental. My teams better than yours so im better than you mentality, its bizarre. End of the day theyre just fans... yet these people, when their team wins a league celebrate like THEY won the league, that City guy speaks like hes on a different level than everyone else there?! Nothing riles me more than nobodies acting like theyre successful and have achieved something because the team they support is successful... its all just pathetic, and pointless.
You're probably watching the wrong show if that's how you feel. You make a fair point but you definitely need to avoid these daft fan shows if you can't see them as just entertainment.
Thankfully not everyone has an inferiority complex like you.
@AzureSkyes is right OG. You're making a very fair point about the mentality of those panels, but you really should look at them as a fun time, not take it seriously by any means.
Your totally right, but like the other guys say it's just a bit of fun if you choose to see it that way, unfortunately for some (like a lot of these guys) it's everything to them, almost life and death, they let it decide if they have a good weekend or not. I often hear fellow gooners say that a loss has ruined their weekend lol! Really? You have nothing else going on? It's the same reason why they use the word 'we' and 'us' instead of 'them' or 'they'. It's playground stuff, it's a case of 'my wife is the prettiest'.
"This is your Kevin Keegan moment Robbie" 😂😂
The Spirit that Robbie has is unbelievable, he thought he could win City, now he thinks he can win the title. What a real Fan!!
This was honestly the best episode of Overlap I've ever seen! Great job putting those City, Arsenal, Spurs fans together, it was hilarious!
The comment about winning the league and the champions league is very true. Its a way bigger achievement to do both in a season.
I love the little roast 🔥 sessions they have in between chats
Gary called it all season and everyone laughed. Now they are telling him why it went wrong like it was obvious
Gary said Arsenal wouldn't make top 4 and said Man Utd would finish above Arsenal mate
Tbf it wasn’t really a crazy prediction every one is aware of how good city is
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to predict City winning the league before the season started chief. Majority of pundits had City winning and only a handful had Arsenal in their top 4.
@@yusufsibda1904 so did 50% of arsenal fan channels and Arsenal fans 5they didn’t predict arsenal’s to make top 4, 95% of people including united fans didn’t not even predict united to finish top 4, and everyone including arsenal attacked him for months for saying the title race doesn’t really start until April same thing sir Alex used to say year after year, and boom Gary Neville the 8th time premier league winner who predicted that arsenal will fall off, got it completely stop on
@@yusufsibda1904 To be fair, most Arsenal fans are excusing you lot bottling it in a historic manner by saying that the expectations for your club were low before the start of the season. So u cant be mad that others didnt expect a title race.
As an Arsenal fan i would have been delighted with top 4 at the start of the season but we have undoubtedly "bottled it" in the three games against Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton and in truth we were lucky to get anything from those games.
you and the people like you are FAKE Arsenal fans.Real Arsenal fan never would say "I would've been delighted with top 4 at start of the season". I guarantee you are one of these young fans who weren't around or old enough to recall when Arsenal were quality in the early to mid 90s
As you say, Arsenal fans need to understand that their goals and expectations have changed mid season. By mid season, they've spent soo much time as league leaders that their expectations are to be champions. In that sense, dropping points 4 games in a row, in the title run in is a bottlejob. Again, this doesn't take away the fact that Arsenal have overperformed their original expectations but definitely have fall short of their actual, current expectations
@@ammarbaagu this is spot on. It’s entirely possible to beat your pre season expectations but fail your actual expectations. And who cares what Arsenal’s target was in august? That’s irrelevant now.
Liverpool in 2012-13 were worse than arsenal last season, and went on to challenge for the league title. They lost it in the last few games. Despite top 4 not being expected at the start of the season, 2nd place was considered a failure because 1st place was three games away.
Arsenal cannot consider 2nd place to be a success just because they weren’t expecting it at the start of the season. Once you go most of the season top of the table and are as much as 8 points clear in the second half of the season, then you *have* to win the title and target nothing less. It’s that simple. Some arsenal fans are already trying to backpedal and claim just getting top 4 is all they were hoping for because they’re realising the title is slipping away.
@@ClaraFinn The setback is a temporary one and more for the joy of rival fans who are insecure. Yes it could detail an almost perfect season from Arsenal but their actual targets have been met yet again. They will learn a lot from this experience and one again come back much stronger next year.
Arsenal now have the means to invest at the level they want. And that’s huge.

He can never be wrong can he?
He likes to forget the games against West Ham & Southampton 😂
No, they couldnt. If we Win against West Ham and Southhampton, City still be first by goal difference. 1 draw and Anfield killed season already so rest results didn't mattered and players knew it. We had go 15 wins in row if not beating City. So we always were losing this title.
@robhans5 Drawing to West Ham & Southampton gave City hope and you know it. A draw at Anfield is fine. City lost there. You guys bottled it. Try to work your way around it with these little things all you like 😄
@@JustStuey What hope City needed against Arsenal? 11 straight wins against us. You had Arteta before West Ham game saying its all about securing top 4 now so they give up already there. It was supposedly "Spursy" when Tottenham came third after being top for 15 minutes of the season back when the mighty Leicester won the League, but not Arsey when the Gooners, who were first at Christmas, finished runners-up.

Arse fans are hilarious. Saying Spurs bottled it in 15/16 when Arse were favourites in March. Then say they had a better season finishing outside top 4 but winning FA cup. Now theyve chucked away an 8 point lead but "havent bottled it". United won a cup but Arse have apparently had a better season. Most deluded fanbase in the world

Wrong. City stopped busting a gut, they were saving their energy. They never needed to waste it as arsenal offered nothing as a threat. That's why arsenal started to have more of the ball, because city let you have it.
Buvey changing the atmosphere was class 😂
The problem with Arsenal was those early high octane wins.. you use up your physical and emotional credit that early and there's hardly any left towards the end of the season to bank on.. and we're witnessing that now
Man,Robbie has not recovered😂
He’s deluded
He is still feeling the pain and got illusion.
He's frying fish

buvey really knows how to trigger robbie lmao😂😂😂

Personally, as gutted I am that we are more than likely not going to win the league, I know this club is genuinely moving in the right direction
I would only genuinely get butt-hurt if I saw our players taking this L too hard and giving up
I want is to keep fighting until the end, because City never gave up
And I want us to step it up next year and continue to improve, we have the youth, skill and energy to keep growing over the next couple years, that still excites me
Arteta always said he would challenge for championships within 3 years, I wonder what he genuinely can achieve in another 3 years
Say anything about Arsenal and there will be an Arsenal fan that says "But your team...". Doesn't matter that there's no correlation, literally at all.
Most fans are like that unfortunately
Because they can't comprehend that more than 1 thing can be true at once. Yes, United did bottle it vs Sevilla. But that doesn't stop Arsenal bottling it vs West Ham and Southampton!
@@jamesgunn7yes but it’s funny even after Arsenal bottled they still had a better season then everyone else except City and UTD if they win the FA CUP
@@wobbled5609 Stop deflecting. Arsenal fans have no accountability whatsoever. They'll never use logic.

Gary with another perfect piece of analysis on arsenals leaders
Robbie didn't like people saying Arsenal bottled the league so then has a pop at ManUtd vs Sevilla but then if we're talking about Europa then Arsenal bottled that as well 😆
as an arsenal fan.... we bottled it... expectations change through out the season which showed that arsenal can challenge for the title, therefore we bottled it. the PRocess was 3 years to win a title and we are 4 years in with 3 full seasons. we've spent the most in europe as well. no excuses. Arteta should pack his bags if we don't win big next season.
Fan expectation changed, but not teams that is barerly top 4 squad. Or you deluded and believe we have top class players? Lol.
The only reason we were in title race because games we always lose (City games, Liverpool away, Newcastle away) are all in second half of the season. Couple super lucky underserving wins in 90+ min don't change that we are not top team.
@@robhans5 so now you think our squad is not top4? then why do you all rate the window 8/10 + and you guys were all happy? now that we bottled it you contradict your selves. and wasn't the process "YOUTH" which all you deluded fans accepted. PLUS WE'VE SPENT big money on players, so if the players are not good enough to challenge then wtf does it all mean for you?
Arteta’s goal was to get Arsenal back to Champions League in three years and competing, not win the league
@@trebleaaa expectations change. and we broke a record with the most time top of the league then we bottled it. so stop sugar coating it.
Robbie's only defense against Buvey is "NO U"
It's like watching a five year old, i swear.
It's like in his head City bottling the CL last year means that Arsenal are somehow not bottling the PL this year. The mental gymnastics involved are insane.
Silly response from Robbie imo. He supports a team that hardly competed in the Champions League lol
City lose against Real in a KO games, a Semifinal after fighting hard and had a rough quarter finals vs Athletico. They did bottle it a bit in the last few minutes but did well enough to get to that point. Arsenal tho, losing a 2 nil lead, 2 games in a row, let relegation Soton get a 3 goal lead and then basically not showing up in their biggest game vs City at the Etihad. That is some serious bottling
Im a united fan, but that " no he doesnt, he keeps knocking long to Weghorst" killed me 😂😂
