Idk if there's a wrong way to potato, they're all delicious! You should definitely try roasted red potatoes with garlic and rosemary, so good :)

I grew up having potato’s with every meal. Love potatoes.
In der Liste fehlen noch Knödel(roh, halb+halb, aus gekochten Kartoffeln) und Berner Rösti.
Der Grund warum wir Deutschen die Kartoffeln so lieben ist: Friedrich, der Große oder auch „Der alte Fritz“
Einfach gesagt: er sah in der Kartoffel ein Nahrungsmittel, daß nahrhaft und leicht anzubauen war…besonders in den sandigen Umgebung von Berlin. Da er den Anbau befahl, wurde mehrere Hungersnöte abgewendet.

Oh and Blitva is swiss chard with some potatoes. Blitva is also the slovenian and croatian name for chard.

All potato dishes are good - you've got to mess up pretty well to make them taste horrible! One of my favourites is Bubble and Squeak (which I'm sure lots of countries have their own variations of). It uses up left over mashed potato and cabbage, but I have known it to have other veg like carrots or peas in it. It's really whatever veg you have left over, but the main ingredient is always mashed potato. It's mixed up and made into a big round and fried in a pan until golden brown underneath and then browned under a grill - and then served perhaps with a fried or poached egg on top. It always reminds me of Christmas (where the cabbage can be replaced by left over, chopped up, Brussels sprouts - or not if they make you retch!). This version has a bit of chopped bacon and a poached egg on top - but you can obviously vary the ingredients to your hearts content.

Is "Kartoffelgratin" (Potato Gratin) a main dish or a supplement in your opinion? 🤔

But there are many people out there who don't think a Potato Gratin is not enough to get fed up.
For me, the Potato is satisfying enough 👌🏻
@@christianweber7372 It depends a lot on the Gratin imo. It can be a main dish if it's more than just a basic Gratin. Otherwise it's mostly just a side option for me.
