      All of them.
      I'm dutch btw.
      But I can understand that people dont know the exact year their country (better said the current state form) was founded. For the Netherlands thats 1815 (kingdom established that is), but if you'd go and ask that on the streets here, probably less than half the people would know that.
      That said I have no idea how much knowledge the current average teenager has nowadays....

    Just goes to show how bad our educational system is. Astonishing. And yes, I could answer all the questions. My mother was an educator.

      No, the educational system in Germany is most of it useless aswell. Many, not the most and everyone “genoss eine gute Erziehung”, that’s it. My parents and brother showed me how to think, build up and that learning is something good and important. They were my mentors and I searched many more and learned a lot. I learned how to learn and to learn, that’s the mystery of many Germans, I guess. But the numbers are sky rockening down, aswell in America, where is it more awful.

    Phil, I agree, "googling" has replaced our brain cells these days! When I was a kid, these facts were drilled into us, but that was a long time ago, way before the internet. I've met college students now who have no idea that the moon goes through phases, or that constellations can be found in the night sky. Again, I think the wealth of entertainment on the internet has replaced the outdoor activities (or simply doing nothing while staring at the sky!) we used to do as kids.

    Well this is too easy. Ask the same group in Europe, Asia etc the same questions. There will be no difference in my opinion. Who was the previous president of the EU. Who is the king of The Nerherlands. How many stars in the eu flag? And why? What's the capitol of Iceland. There you go. Have fun 😜

    As an American I have seen these videos and the people he interviews are from inner city and possibly lower income. Why is that important? Unfortunately American inner cities like New York City and Chicago do not put importance on education. This is a poor representation of American students. I grew up in the suburbs of a Southern state and graduated with a 4.0 from a University. Everyone in my family has a graduate degree and put education as a top 3 priority. The same with my husband and he grew up in a different Southern state than I. As a whole these videos are a good laugh!😂 Like a good comedy show.

      @spoon1968 Před rokem +1

      Yes! So this is important to know about America's education system especially for people in other countries.
      Generally you go to school based on where you live. Specifically your address usually decides your school district. If you are in a low income area, you will most likely go to a school that is not well funded. Funding is based on income and tax of the area.
      So your family would need to have money to move to a better district. In an underfunded school you won't usually have the best teachers, the food is worse, parents might be too busy to offer much support, the teaching supplies and resources are limited. If the area is also bad enough, you'll have gangs to fend off getting to and from school.
      Compare that to private schools. Some of them board the students, they have the best teachers, all the resources, extra activities, excellent food to help study, safety, and support from family and community to have a peak learning experience.
      I know people that had a graduating class of 10 or so students because the schools were so rural. It's not really equal when it comes to education in this country. Still a funny video.

    • @jpjackson1226
      @jpjackson1226 Před rokem

      To be fair, the resources provided to those in American suburbs are vastly different to those available in the inner cities. Pair it with families who have parents working at inconvenient hours with little-to-no familial support, and the class differences widen further. As a culture, the States have never prized education or educated people. It’s been all about sports and entertainment.

      As a German, I hate that your answers are to small. We Germans are most of the time honest and very directly. 10 times more directly like Americans are. So I write that to you and would say it to your face. Good job, but to small answers. I hate it, that your answers are to small. I mean, the US is founded at July 4th 1776. When you write 1776, then when? I would interpret it like when? Or 1st January 1776? Or in the mid of 1776, I don’t know. Have a nice one, btw.. :)

    Ok the US education system but this video is strange, not know something it's normal (one can't know everything), here we are on another level though, it's not even necessary to have studied for answer to 90% of this stuff and for the other 10%, primary school is sufficient (and as you can deduce from my English I'm not even American).
    I'm not saying it's staged but it's really too much, I hope (at least?) there are hours and hours of shooting with thousands of people interviewed.
