  • Today Blake and I went out to help this homeowner with an overgrown sidewalk. I cleaned up the sidewalk while Blake was able to take care of their overgrown lawn. Thank you all for all of your support of these videos. Without you watching, liking, and subscribing to both or our channels, none of this would be possible. We look forward to being able to help many more people with their overgrown lawn and to help keep people from getting city violations.

    Whilst watching you removing the grass and soil from the sidewalk, this question suddenly popped into my head: where did that soil come from? It wasn't there before the grass grew over, so how did it get there? Did the growing grass somehow "bring" it over, or produce it even?? Which then made me wonder ... what exactly IS soil? What is the brown stuff ACTUALLY made from? Is it all just dead plant material piled up over time?? My brain can be really weird sometimes LOL
    Excellent video! Very satisfying to watch and great result at the end!

    • @AB-ol5uz
      @AB-ol5uz Před 2 lety

      When plant life decomposes, it creates soil, which attracts worms that aerate and fertilize it to maintain good health, etc. A ton of living microorganisms live in soil. Dirt is unhealthy soil. So that is why the health of soil is so important to raising good food.

    I was wondering why there was no sidewalk near the steps. "Eureka!" You discovered the Sidewalk that Time forgot. This was back-breaking work, unearthing the sidewalk literally. 🔟🔟🔟🔟🔟 The square bucket bin is more practical than round bucket bins for lawn care cleanups. Do you also use the large bags, which would be lighter to tote around? Your method of edging is the most efficient I have seen. You tackle left and right concurrently, even if it is done for the camera POV. Other lawn care professionals may walk for "miles", up and down the sidewalk and curb.

    Very nice, the sidewalk hasn't seen the light of day in years from the looks of it, that concrete is in bad shape for its age, the way it is cracked and broken apart is from when it was originally poured, more than likely it was a too thin (watery) mix, and being less than 4 inches thick and the municipalities not keeping up with its business of maintenance like it should, and yes, it also needs a good power washing along with the stone wall, both have black algae on them, still a great video, thanks for sharing

    Hi Guys, I'm watching you from "Down Under", and I'm amazed that you have to do the work that should be the job of "City" employees. I can only assume that in the US the home owner is responsible for cleaning the streets outside his property?
    Here in Australia, we pay what are called "Council Rates", which is a form of land tax to the relevant city/suburb you live in and they employ people to take care of everything outside of your property, roads, pavements, kerbs, gutters for storm drainage etc. Basically everything that is not on you land.
    Just this week I have had surveyors in my street as the gutters and kerbing have been raised by tree roots and so next week they will rip all that up and replace it with new.

    You did an amazing job on edging and removing grass that grows in between asphalt and cement. I hate it when it is left undone. Also uncovering sidewalk AMAZING 🤩!!!
    Where are you located state or city? Also are you two blood brothers?
    🙏🏼👏🏼🌟🌹😊

    Omg, what a back-busting job that was . I think the city needs to step up and replace some of those cracked sidewalks, it could be a hazard, it's so uneven and full of cracks. Fantastic job, bringing that property back to life!!
