    I don't know if that footpath was even worse "in person" but going by its appearance, our local council would be freaking out and replacing it in order to avoid being sued for causing a safety hazard. That is a trip and fall waiting to happen.
    You did an awesome job cleaning it up though, at least people can see what they're walking on.

      Where is this, the city ordinances don't require residents to clear the sidewalk and mow their lawns? That's clearly years and years of neglect. Owner of corner lot and the neighbors all disabled in their 90s? This just boggles my mind.

    • @dochubbell
      @dochubbell Před 2 lety

      @@Og-Judy Yes, too many lawns are neglected by those too lazy or the home is abandoned, but I try not to think I know what the situation is, (at least right away), We have a neighbor who has taken to planting a wide swath of wild flowers along the front of his property. Looks nice in the spring but, does not take long to look like a giant weed patch. He does not mow it at all. It gets tall enough to hide the mail boxes.The rest of the neighbors keep their lawns nicely trimmed and mowed. The neighbor next to him reported him to the city with no results. The man was a fireman till he had a heart attack. I assume, (still a guess on my part at this point), he is trying to cut down on the amount of lawn he has to mow. Just glad he isn't next to me.

Thank you for your kindness🤗😎👏
      Well, this was written waaay before I realized how very cracked those sidewalks were ... Some neighbors need to petition the City to contract out someones to come and fix those walkways!!! I am no expert, so don't hold me to anything. But, my town plows the snow on the sidewalks and installed them. In CT any injury on a "public sidewalk is the fault of the town or municipality, unless; the homeowner cause the sidewalk to be damaged, or, failed to notify the town of any damage".
      Maybe its a town by town thing. I do know many towns require the homeowners to shovel snow off the sidewalks.
      My thought is if a sidewalk belongs to me, and it needs to be repaired, then I'm just going to tear it out and grow grass , put up a fence and tell the people, who want to use the sidewalk, it doesn't belong to them. It was mine to do with what I pleased.
      I know that's silly. But it is kind of a murkey gray area.
      In the video, clearly the homeowner can't afford upkeep (that's what makes the landscapers job so meaningful) so now the homeowner is also on the hook for sidewalk repairs or worse, a lawsuit? Thats a bit crazy.

    Nice to see more progress coming. Having sorted that the golden rock to the front is probably the natural color of the black wall, I have a potential suggestion. Power washing could be done but a prep trick might do a lot on one or two applications. Apparently, if diluted pool chemical (chlorine) is sprayed on, without doing anything else, maybe once or twice, a lot of algae will start dieing off. Try a test area, as stairs? Less risk of damage to old concrete? Your work is changing the feel and appearance of that area. Thank you.

    You 2 are awesome... Just finished watching Thom's Simple Life... He's helping a disabled veteran with his yard. 8 part series. Thom is 70 years old and has a hip replacement & waiting for the other one to be done. No your video here makes me wonder where the taxes actually goes. (sarcasm). Again, you 2 make my day. 🙏💪🙏🇺🇸

    Nice work. Now if the city would come out and repair their sidewalks, huh? Sure makes the whole area nicer.
