Fusso is said to be applied very light. That in turn will make it last*forever*. So for $30, not $50, it seems a worthy purchase.
When you have no garage, like me, collinite 845 is the way to go because it can stand a little rain once buffed off. Next I will apply Beadmaker to protect the wax. Super slick paint. I do not mind reapplying a few months later, no hassle at all...
after watching Bryan from apex and this test, all I will be using is Fusso coat. This is the best protection next to a ceramic IM0. I paid 30.00 for a can of Fusso and its been 2 months with just rinsing once a week and washing once every two weeks. (driven daily, in elements for 8hrs, garage parked)
Fusso coat is great for longevity
845 gives a nice warm finish to dark colours that Fusso can only dream of.
I put 845 in hot water with a spray nozzle on the bottle, then spray it on a foam finishing pad, and apply with a DA. Easy and quick to apply. I understand Fusso is more durable, but I absolutely love the look of 845 topped with Bead Maker. And with the Vette's that hardly ever get driven, the appearance is what im going for over maximum protection.
I hadn't heard of Bead Maker, so I googled it. Is it called P&S Bead Maker? Also, does it add shine to the 845?
@@BriggsStratton11 Yes and hell yes
Hey Jimbo, this test was very interesting as many manufacturers are claiming chemical resistance but your test showed that simply touching the paint can have an impact. Liquid and paste waxes still have their place (e.g. short term show waxes) but protection wise they lag behind ceramic and graphite products.
Best wishes from Scotland 👍
For Collinite, you should use 476s instead of 845. 845 is for quick detailing, not the same level that soft99 is. Good test method, by the way.
I use 845 on top of Fusso Coat, works well.
Are you foreal? It’s an idea that popped in my head however worried about too many chemicals damaging the paint
@@caroquintero841 Go for it mate, It won't melt your car honest 😝
Can you use a product like griots 3 in 1 spray wax or bead maker as a toooer?
Been using Collinite for well over 10 Years, 476 and 845. Will carry on using them
I think that when you're touching the chemicals with your gloves, it could be breaking down the nitrile glove itself causing some residue to be left behind...
Fusso offers a level of hydrophobicity that you can't get from anything else except a ceramic coating. It just sheets water exceptionally well. And even in harsher climates it still gives you at least 6 months of protection. On top of that, the tub will last you forever. That's really not bad.
Does it attract dust like crazy ? Seal and shine is a dust magnet for me
Hi Jim and thanks for your awesome channel. Could you do a comparison between fusso and finish kare hi temp paste wax ?
Both are good products. In real world use, a person should be happy with either one 👍
Fusso is much more hydrophobic and lasts me 6+ months in the harshest conditions. Before I coated my truck, Fusso was the best protectant I ever used.
depends on where you live
coated with what?
Hands down, Collinite is the most durable wax I’ve ever used. Apply a couple coats before the winter season and this baby lasts the entire season. Multiple car washes during winter and the beading lasts into April. New England has tough winters and I’d never use anything else. Plus, the gloss is crazy good. And the amount you used for that little section would cover the entire car and then some. A bottle should last you years that’s how little you need.
Looks more like the difference between paste wax and liquid wax in general? Maybe soft99 v 476 would have been a more fair comparison. I don't have experience with either product, but I would think it would hold up better. Also around the same price gap.
Wax is far from dead in the car show world. While I use sealants for durability on my daily driver, I want maximum appearance enhancement on my metallic blue weekend toy Z06. Nothing looks as deep, warm, and wet as a carnauba wax finish. 845 is really a hybrid product, so I use that as my base protection. After a day of curing, I add a layer of sacrificial "show wax". Usually Griot's Best Of Show paste or Adam's Buttery Wax. I have yet to find a way to make the blue paint look better.
I totally agree
Blue metallic? Hmmm. Try Poorboy's World Liquid Natty's Red.
@@bbdetailing9123 I have Natty's Red, Natty's Blue, and many other waxes. My point was that a sealant or coating does not make my metallic paint look as good as any wax does.
@@FYRARMS OHHHHHHH. My bad! Hmm. Sealant alone? Yeah, i can't recall of one, by itself, making metallic look good.
@@bbdetailing9123 Yeah, the only sealants that I have used by themselves on bare paint (no glaze, etc.) that make metallic paint glow pretty well have been Wolfgang "Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0" and Polish Angel "Master Sealant". But, I still was tempted to top them with a good carnauba. LOL
There's a new version of 12 months fusso coat (2019), that is said to have easy'er application. Would be cool with a durability and appreciation test of new vs old. Thanks for great content Jimbo👍
Yeah it's easier to apply but holds onto the beads more than the old one ^^ there was a test done by a german guy side by side
I love collinite and supporting a company in the USA 🇺🇸
Nah... JDM yo
We use 845 on stainless steel handrails on yachts. I think the key benefit is there is a barrier, preventing any hard or salt water from staining the metal. However, I don't use 845 on paint...
Dive Another Day I’ve used it on both my cars with great success. It last a long time as long as you maintain your vehicle still. I live in the NE so this will be my first winter using it. I’m going to be putting a new coat of it on my daily driver the next day that’s not below freezing lol.
Based on this video (and I find no flaws in it) it looks like I'll be retiring my Collinite 845. Good chemical resistance but zero mechanical. 😕
How is Soft99 an 'unknown' ? It is hands down the best wax available and the most known in the detailing space. Applied correctly it will give you 6-12 months life.
Compare it to 476 and go from there. I will stick with my Collinite 915 which blows away the Fusso with gloss and good durability..
You should compare the Kiwami vs Collinite as both are just wax. Fusso on the other hand just uses wax as a medium to transfer the PTFTE onto the paint.
Fusso is ridiculously hydrophobic. It is a Fluorocarbon type molecule. When they say 12 months, they mean it. I had to remove it with steel wool once and even that was tough. I would practice working with it on a test surface. Because if you don't lay it down the way you liked, you'll probably risk your clearcoat, when you try to remove it. I cant speak about 845, I have never used it. Seems durable as well.
That giggle when the "white junk" was on the sponge.....I felt that in my middle school soul.
I saw it and immediately thought "thats what she said" and then you giggled.
😆
Your applying waaay to much Fusso Coat. You want to mist an application pad and then apply a very thin coat. Any more than that, you will be fighting to get it off.
How do you mist fusso coat?
@@Steven_Baer miss the pad
@@James-nq8eh he means make the applicator pad slightly damp and then apply the wax onto the pad and then just put a very light even coat on the panel.
@@James-nq8eh lmao
Why would you wanna take it off
Fusso is a chemical sealant , not a wax.
To compare these two is a laugh.
But i'd rather use collinite , very easy on and you can still breath when you use it.
No fusso on my car , i like to wax twice a year.
How do you compare a solid/paste to a liquid???!! Instead of the Collinite Insulator 845, a more equitable comparison would be the paste version Collinite 476s super doublecoat....
It may have just been the camera angle, but it "looked" like when you applied the Fusso Coat it was a much thinner application on the outside where it really broke down uneven. Like you just ran out of product on the applicator pad. Could just be me though.. Either way, that stuff is amazing and seems to be by far the toughest "wax" out there. I'll be ordering some soon..
Good for people in hotter climates like down in the southeast as Fusso did not break down any when Brian from Apex Detail put a heat gun on it and the Collinite 915 he was comparing it against did.. I've been on the fence about those two, but seems like Fusso coat will hold up much better to heat and South Ga is hot AF!!!!!
Oh yeah definitely want to go with a synthetic protection if you're looking for heat and sun durabilty.👍👌 Most any true natural carnauba wax is going to struggle to compete in direct sun and high temperatures.. for *very* obvious reasons. Wax melts.. 😁
Dear Jimbo sir. If we dont care about . But the gloss upgrade that those products maybe provide, the warm glow or maybe wet look, from your subjective eyes witch product performed better,or did you liked? Because in video we cannot see the difference with our eyes. Thanks a lot
Hi Jim great video once again BUT (oh no) lol. The fusso coat is nowhere near 50$. Its $30.00 on Amazon. Just a FYI. Thank you for this great video.
Its $25 shipped on eBay
I love the Shine Supply signature wax.. It's amazing.. Still would love to see some Shine Supply products go up against the tests
Besides polishing, what's the best way to remove TW seal and shine?? I want to apply a ceramic coating.
Polishing
really interesting on the hand swipe. soft 99 won hands down
I believe in a paste wax you can controll how thick you apply it better than a spray. A spray is way faster and still provides good protection. The spray will spread better but paste you can control how thick a coat is. That may have some substance to think about could be just me.
Great points
After being an avid weekend warrior detailer for years, and washing my car every week... I came to the conclusion that after a few maintenance washes, pretty much every product that isn't a professionally applied multi-year ceramic starts to fail. Therefore if you enjoying washing the car regularly you need to get into the mindset that durability of these LSP's just doesn't matter, and start relying on a quick to apply top up LSP every maintenance wash.
I like to use traditional paste waxes a couple of times a year, but also use a spray LSP such as Autoglym's Express Wax as a drying aid on every maintenance wash (each week, or 2). That was I always have new protection on the car and the durability of the original paste wax becomes irrelevant.
If you wash your car once a month then fantastic, after a simple clean your LSP should still be doing its thing.... But i'd have washed it 4 times by then.
Exactly, no need to agitate or touch the paint unless you really want to remove the protection, perhaps just agitate in the last rounds if no changes take place with the water beading. The glove issue is probably grease or oil, it would be interesting to wash it with ph neutral soap to see if the glove sign marked area is still there afterwards.
Stop wasting your time, Jimbo. Fusso Coat will destroy anything you compared to it. Even some ceramic coatings. That thing is The Thing.
Fuck Fusso! Collinite 845 forever!!
@@JT-sl3ui 845 is pants
Para proteção e resistência eu só aplico a Fusso.. Até hj não vi nenhuma ser comparada a ela em termos de resistência!
please do SOFT 99 vs TURTLE WAX SEAL & SHINE torture test. thanks
Soft 99 is better than Seal N Shine.
The residue is the left overs from PTFE in soft99. Use mist applicator pad and super thin layer, if you are applying it as you would do a wax you are using too much product. I learned the hard way on darker paints. After few washes it comes out..
i bought some soft 99. excited to try it!
You will not be disappointed, old school wax on wax off but way better longevity
@@Carlos.Rivera From what I tried it on, it looked good, has been lasting and wasn't all that difficult to apply or remove. Thanks!
How are you meant to deal with the 845 wax after it expires on the car. Do you need to remove it before reapplying? If so how do I remove it?
Very cool test. Can you combo soft99 with Jescar Power Lock Polymer Paint Sealant???
As an amateur I avoid paste waxes because it is easy to contaminate the can. I'd have extra clean applicators ready.
I would like to see more product reviews from technicians choice. Like their ceramic coating or their soaps.
Hey Jimbo , OMG. I just saw a clip from PAN , now Last Coat has a new clear 2.0 now . I think they’re running a little scared with all the other products out there .
I bought some...video to come
I need fast washes, gloss and protection. So I use 845 every like 1-2 months. And for the weekly fast wash I use Sonax bsd as drying ade. Dilute it a bit, to not leave streaks and use a different spray with way better atomisation. Works great so far, but I'l see how it lasts in the winter.
great product review and comparison video again jimbo...love these reviews and torture test....
Fusso vs Colly 476?
I would be interested in how collinite 845 would look on top of fusso coat, like many recommend Menzerna power look with collinite 845.
Works well, that's how I've used them in the past, no issues.
when you drag the chemical it acts like you do mechanical removal from the surface like claying. İm not native english speaker sorry. İ know what happens but my english is this much :D
I know this isa durability test but how do they look in comparison? Which one hides more scratches? Etc etc
It's simple. Your finger rubbed enough of the product in that area to remove/displace the wax in that area on the 845 side. The Fusso Coat is obviously more chemical resistant , even when physically rubbed in.
Thanks for the Video! Great comparison
I think Collonite IW 845 is great wax, and I used it for several years on my vehicles. Unfortunately, after seeing it be affected with just mild abrasion, like a gloved hand, the term fleet wax, which appears on the bottle, doesn’t really seem to apply.
I think when you were using iron remover or APC or any other solution it compromised layer of 845 which did not infuse with clear coat well, like the Fusso did, thus by wiping a finger on panel removed layer of protection. This was more evident when microfibre was used.
IMHO it was just a matter of time when 845 would have been completely removed by pressure of water, if you were to continue doing touch less testing.
For next time around I would like to see two things: 1) perform the touch less torture test without towel for first two chemicals and introduce MFT on third or forth attempt
2) What I would like to see instead of plain jane controlled section, divide it into multiple sections of different ceramic coatings to observe their tolerance level
Thanks and let comparisons keep coming!
The laugh at 5:39 literally made me spit my coffee out. We all know Lol
Yeah.. Hahaha. But it looks like vaseline lol !!
I love the look of 845 and I get a year of durability. See no reason to switch if it’s not broken. This was interesting though. I’d prefer to see a real world test vs chemicals.
Hi Jim. Can you please look into the other soft99 paste wax like. King of gloss.
I used Auto Glym products for many years and had every confidence in them until I tried Soft 99 products. I've not tried Fusso coat yet as I've been using Soft 99 Pearl and metallic on my silver Kia. I've never used a better wax it's incredible and lasts a long time. We get a lot of salt in the winter and the soft 99 just keeps on beading and running off the paintwork. I won't be trying Collinite any time soon.
Hi Jim I got a good one for you. Technicians choice ceramic detail spray VS Mothers CMX ceramic spray coating
1982 just called they want their paste wax.... DPC shield vs TW SnS!! give the people what they want Jimbo.
No, 845 won’t break down from wiping it with a towel. I would have to say, any product made will break down when exposed to a plethora of heavy cleaning products. It is the final result that matters to most. Those caring for thier vehicles usually do it on a regular basis.
Hey Jim, you have created more questions than answers. With ceramic paste wax, do you think that it will make paint richer looking than sealants? Most ceramic coats has like a artificial look.
Possibly but shine and depth can most times be fairly subjective
Can you please test - soft99 versus nu finish - both have a 12 month or yearly durability claim
Not rubbing the chemicals in is a far more accurate simulation of day to day use imo
I love using 845 on my door jambs and wheels. But it gets super chunky lol gotta stick it in the microwave
Also, take a bowl of warm water and set the bottle upright for about 10 minutes. That looseness it up
Great videos, thanks for your afford
This is not a fair test...Collinite 845 is a wax whereas Fusso Coat Soft 99 is a synthetic paste wax which makes it more of a paint sealant. Pan The Organizer does a good review of Fusso Coat Soft 99.
That was the point to compare ones that are labeled different to see if they actually are
Cool video. Soft 99 is the bomb!
You should get a gloss meter. For products that are similar in durability I would gladly give up a couple washes of durability for a better finish.
So for beading on fuso you need to check your video haha, when you aplicated it was way more product in middle area then the side, that why the side goign off faster.. :D it was "evenly" spread just way more product in middle :D Great video, and for overall, Fuso in daycare cars sustain like lot longer :D
5:40 hahaha.
been a fan of both products. I thought the Fusso was a good bit cheaper tho. maybe its jumped. either way another great video Jimbo
Yeah, Brian of Apex said about $30.
I've watched a ton of your videos, and you may have said it somewhere that I missed, but which of these coatings are you most impressed with?
That's funny.👍
Make comparison video on soft 99 kiwami wax vs p21s wax vs colinite waxes.
Very interesting. Perhaps wind-driven grime and water movement would have the same mechanical action on ceramic/graphene coatings?
I don't know if this has been mentioned but as a comment to the abrasion issue, My guess would that the abrasion alone wasn't removing the product but the combination of the chemical and the abrasion just like in your previous videos where you wipe the panels.
both smell bad but they are different. ones a carnuba known for short endurance and the other is flourine based which is just the opposite. it depends on what you want for your car. compare fusso with the gyeon stick.
Love Collinite. But Sonax Brilliant Shine detailer is leaps and bounds ahead!
For sure. I love that stuff
Crazy idea! I've seen people using transmission fluid as a base coat and putting wax on top of that. I wonder what the durability of transmission fluid on clear coat is!

Should try doublecoat vs soft99. 845 is a great wax especially being something that wasnt originally even intended for automobiles.
Fusso coat og is amazing I use it every time I need to buff my car or every 11 months I apply it to my car I have 15 tins of it
Collinte due to its ease of application and removal.
Interesting. thanks for the videos
Are you planning to do a video on the TLC 2.0 see if it's any better than TLC or TW SNS?
Whats best top coat wax ammo or what for silver car?? Or fusso 99
I like easy on easy off, fusso is the obvious winner though. With so many good spray waxes why bother with paste. You want expensive try polish angel glass coat V2 with cosmic spritz.
Agreed. In today's day and age paste waxes are pretty obsolete. Not for anything more than creating an appearance lol
sonax brilliant shine detailer and adbl synthetic spray wax are best spray sealants so far and they´re really cheap
Try autoglym extra gloss protection sealant or there aqua wax! Actually what about there HD wax?
Ben they aren't readily available in the States as much as Canada and Europe, that's why there are very little American reviews of Autoglym products.
I found that the Collinite only lasted around 2 months. It's more of a show pony than anything else. It provides a really nice warm glow and the initial beading was brilliant but only short lived.
Soft 99, I haven't used but the reports for that mob have been ok. I don't like that it's hard to rub off and chalky. These are two very antiquated products and there are many other paste waxes that would leave these two for dead. Bilt Hamber and the TW Graphene infused paste wax are just two that come to mind. There are many others I'm sure other people will mention.
None for durability though. DSW can’t touch it for durability.
@@kwl189 Durability ? Which one ? Fusso ?

Fusso99? You mean Soft99 Fusso coat. To answer your question, Fusso Coat is a sealant, it needs no help.
Hey Jimbo I have a suggestion for a torture test. Griot's garage one step sealant vs Meguiars #21 synthetic sealant 2.0. I use griot's garage one step sealant for the last 6 years and apply it with a 6in da polisher and kinda wanna see what it can stand up to. Both have a 24 hour full cure time before there exposed to water
