You’re a life saver! 32 years of putting fuel in my vehicles, and it only takes one mistake to ruin the day. 3 gallons of 91 in my Powerstroke, ruined an evening of fishing, before it could take place. Had it towed home, removed about 10 gallons of junk fuel, followed by flushing it one gallon of diesel at a time, five times. I didn’t get 100% of it, but the smell of gas is gone, no service lights and have run almost a tank of fresh fuel through it.
Certainly better than having to drop the tank! Thanks again.

    I’m working on a 1996 E-350. Two questions:
    1. Is there any reason not to pull the core out of the Schraeder valve on the fuel rail and attach a hose there?
    2. I’m still trying to get to the electrical connector that attaches to the fuel pump since I suspect that the pump is bad. I see in the factory manual that to empty a tank they recommend ”connect the Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R320 1 suction pump to the fuel hose connection at the tank.” That SOUNDS like they put a suction on the discharge line and suck fuel through the pump. Does anyone know if that works? I tried taking a suction at the Schraeder valve on the fuel injector rail with a TopSider vacuum oil change tank/vacuum pump and it seems like I emptied about a quart of fuel but didn’t draw from the tank. Dropping the tank is last on my list.

I just came across your video and thought what the hell let’s give it a go. My question is…if there is regular gas in the tank would it ruin the fuel pump by pumping it out this way. Would this work if someone accidentally filled the tank with gasoline?

That looks like gasoline, not diesel. My diesel has always been clear. Not sure what color it is when I add the OptiLube XL though. Still, only 4oz per fillup can't taint it much.

Good move. I just undo the pressure relief valve & put a hose in & pump it out. Your water is definitely a lot easier.

The steps I think I should do are obviously drain the fuel tank like shown in your video. After driving 5 miles do fuel lines Need to be changed? Or is draining the fuel and filling with new fuel sufficient? Should I go to a certified ford dealership after refueling?

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I've never done one...that said...I do LOVE where Ford put it! Right on top of the left side valve cover and it appears there's nothing in the way, sad thing is it drops fuel pressure at the rail badly...no power situation.

@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Ah that easy eh? Local Ford dealer is providing the pump and apparently updated bolts to mount it with. Seems to be a bit of a common issue on the early EcoBoosts, that said this beast has a 4 inch lift and massive tires, even my 6'1" frame will require a milk crate height boost!
