You saved me thousands for this video. It worked, even after I drove the truck with DEF fuel. We did everything you said.

I’m really glad to hear that! But you drew some def crystallization into the fuel system so I’d still treat the hell out of it with more fuel additives to flush that crap out. I hope all turns out ok!

I am a mechanic who works on these trucks every day and you are very lucky. We have had customers drive less than 40km and the hpfp burns out and costs $10,000 in repairs. The hpfp needs the lubricity of diesel fuel, that is the only lubricant they use. Also ecodiesel guys replace your oil cooler before you end up in nightmare city. I have one customer right now with severe electrical repairs from coolant pipes bursting after the oil cooler failed and saturated the rubber coolant hoses in oil. With heat the hoses only last a month or so after oil contamination. Try convincing a customer to replace his oil cooler with all rubber hoses, cooling system flush and a power delivery module (smart fuse panel). Its nearly impossible so you end up with a guy getting the oil cooler and flush. Then they drive until hoses burst and the internal fuel pump relay in the pdm starts to fail. Nightmare trucks. Sell it and buy a hemi.

@@jdlarson9354 it did work. Kind of. I have a Ford so the details are different but the same principal. Had to disconnect the fuel line on the frame near the water separator and then drained the fuel with the truck's fuel pump.

I almost threw up when I dumped 3 gallons into my fuel tank two weeks ago. I had to start it for just about 5 seconds so I could put it in neutral and start it down hill to roll in front of my work shop. Well I dropped the full tank of fuel ( ouch $120 worth) and drained it. Washed it out with garden hose real good. The pickup pump and lines and fuel filter on the tank. Installed it and added 3 gal of power service and a gallon of Power service 911. Mixed with 5 gal of fresh fuel. Drove it for a while then added 5 more gallons. Drove it 230 miles then added a full tank. Kept adding Power Service 1 gal per full fuel tank. Drove it another 300 miles then changed both fuel filters. Cut them open and let them dry for a few days. Not one spec of crystal any where on any of either filter. I guess I lucked out.
On a side note I did it twice before on my 2011 6.7. That was at 45k miles..Only a qt or so. Just drained the first filter every few miles then changed the filters out while adding lot's of power service for a while. Traded it in at 165k and still running smooth. No issues there.
On a side note. Why didn't I just call Ford to come and tow it while it was just in the tank and I hadn't started it at all? Had too many important things to be done the next day and 1 week after and another 1 week after and another 1 week after. I went for it. At that point I didn't care what happed to the truck. Either it was going to run and do that all or frig it.
I now have a locking gas cap that should help.

@@jdlarson9354 Not sure if it worked out for me. It's only been maybe 1300 miles since. I'm sure the filters didn't have any after they dried out but but who knows as I put so much Kleen,Diesel 911 in it. Not sure what that stuff does to the crystals. Allow them to past thru the filters? or recoup at the fuel pump? who knows the long term damage. I know I didn't pick up much at all. I only started it for about 5 sec to get it in neutral and rolling down to a work spot. And the truck was parked tilted with ass down so the def fluid would of been towards the back of the tank. Who knows.

I've just had my mazda 6 diesel towed to garrage after putting 3 litres of AdBlue yesterday. I briefly turned the ignition on while on the garage forecourt, so I am hoping that there is no damage to the fuel injectors due to corrosive nature of the fluid. There was probably a similar amount of diesel still in the tank so I am hoping that may mitigate some of the damage. I feel like an complete idiot!
