  • My Check engine light came on indicating "Contaminated Exhaust Fluid". This is how I removed all the old Fluid without dropping the tank. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

thanks for the vid this helped me get my warning light off as well it was very difficult getting the 1/4 inch tubing into the def tank but once i got it in i taped the tubing to a wet dry vac and this helped speed up the process quite a bit !!!

I bought the same pump but it doesn't seem to go all the way down to the tank. I know there is urea in there but it doesn't reach at all.

I you cut the edge of the hose off where the bottom side is longer then the top it will go around the 90 degree angle

I'm curious if any of you viewers have tried this on a 2012 model (I have a F-350) and were successful in doing so? I tried to do this recently on my 2012 model and I could clearly feel the hose reach the bottom of the tank but I couldn't get anything out. I tried the orange hose and the small black one with no luck. I even hooked it up to my shop vac and couldn't even get a drop out. Just curious. Thanks!

I have a new F 250 6.7 Powerstroke that gets light use and will end up in storage for extended periods (6 months or so). It's in its first storage now, I went through the standard storage procedure one would follow for any vehicle, it's garaged, up on jacks, disconnected batteries, I didn't change the oil it only has 1500 miles on it, full tank of fuel with additives and made sure its run through the system. Does anyone have recommendations on storing the 6.7, and in particular how to manage the DEF in the tank-should it be full, should it be empty, should I drain and replace it after each storage period? Also, I read somewhere its a good idea to disconnect the fuel pump and let run until it stops to reduce the pressure? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

hi there.. wondering if the problem went away or not? i've heard the hose doesn't get all the way to the bottom to syphon all out. looking to do this to my 2015.

yes, it fixed the problem. after draining and refilling you have to drive about 30-40 miles for the Check engine light to go away. I purchase extra clear plastic hose from the hardware isle at Lowes to help it reach.

@@BigTruckBigRV so the regular hose that comes with it won't reach all the way sir? Did you put both of the hoses that come with the pump together?
