The 5816 is, perhaps, Honeywell's most popular sensor. While boxy and slightly bigger than many homeowners prefer, it's price makes it hard to pass up as the go-to wireless sensor for any door or window in the home. Its slightly less popular 5811 model is often preferred by the aesthetically concerned, the 5816 wireless door/window sensor is maybe Honeywell's most robust wireless sensor. In this video Sterling provides two simple ways for any LYNX Touch L5100 owner to program this little sensor into the system.
Thank you. If you use the wired contacts as well, do you program that as an additional zone type 1, or is it the same zone, but gets reported as type 1?
do i need to have internet connection (wifi) at home or a phone line to be able to use it?
I have the 5816 door/window sensor and it works great, easy to setup. However, I'm trying to use a zwave door/window sensor from fibaro and it never register under the zone section. I manage to enrol the sensor though
I have a steel door. Will the 5816 still work? The magnet will not affect it?
Hello can i program zone 57 through 64 for window or door sensor like the 5816?
i have this switch, but for me to install it needs to be installed on the door and the magnet on the door frame. or can i use the loop 1? if so how can i used it? can you make a video explaining it? Thanks
I bought a preowned home with this alarm and it says report failure on the screen and sometimes it beeps every few seconds until i play around and press a bunch of buttons. I have read that it means it cant connect to the phone line. What do i do if I dont want it to connect to the phone line?
How to stop the beeping of the system? It beeps every 30 seconds. Thanks!
