  • I am sewing on a Juki DU-1181n industrial sewing machine but this pattern has been tested and made successfully on a domestic sewing machine during the testing process, and is perfect for the "confident beginner".
    *The Stephie Shoulder bag pattern can be found on my website lindshandmade.com
    *Flower fabric is a quilting cotton called "Flower Fields in Dusk" from Hawthorne Supply Co
    *Brown leather is a 3oz weight and the leather glue is Ecoweld, both from Tandy Leather
    *I'm using waterproof canvas from Fabric Wholesale Direct. (If you purchase from this link, I get reward points and you get a $10 off coupon to use on your next purchase): www.fabricwholesaledirect.com...
    *I used a tex 80 bonded polyester thread from Geekyhardware.com
    *Leather double sided tape is from wawak.com. (For a domestic machine friendly double sided tape, try the brand from Tandy leather, or Dritz wash away tape.)
    *Zipper by the yard and "handmade" pulls are from ZipperValley.com
    *The sweatshirt I'm wearing is from Moremeknow.com

    Here I am…Being a good girl and staying off social media so I don’t get distracted. It’s November and I’m neck deep in UFO’s of the Christmas gift sort…and I hear Linds has a new pattern I missed…I need to make myself a new bag like I need a hole in my head. You took my money again because I love this one just as much as your other patterns! Thank you for this one! 🥰👏🧵

    I am glad you designed this bag. I love this bag. There is a Dooney & Burke bag that is so similar. I have been wanting that bag for years. I just don't see spending that kinda of $$$ for it. What could be better than making ur bag out of the material and color that u desire. This is wonderful. I can't wait to make many. Great design. Thank you so much. ❤ 😊

    Great bag! Love your patterns; they are always a pleasure to sew. A quick question. The white pen you’re using to mark your seam allowances, it seems to show light on the pink waterproof canvas and then shows dark on the quilting cotton. I don’t think you changed the pen. What kind of pen is that please? Thanks!

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 2 lety +1

      I use a metallic leather pen when I don’t need it to come off. The divider pocket on the interior slip pocket is a white chalk pen

  • @roxannericchio3556

    Thank you for this tutorial! I have this pattern. I was wondering if Cotton canvas fused with sf101 and fleece would be good for a slouchy bag.

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 2 lety +2

      For cotton canvas, you could skip the fleece. The “slouch” comes with training the bag. Once complete, fill your bag, pinch the center of the top where the tassel is and push it forward. This will create a little “memory” and your bag with naturally assume this slouchy shape once worn.

    Hello. I love to make bags and recently I’d like to start selling them, but I’m not sure about pricing 😳 Is there any chance you can help me with it? Thanks 😊

    • @LindsHandmadeDesigns
      @LindsHandmadeDesigns  Před 2 lety +1

      I’m sorry, I’m terrible at pricing, myself. My only suggestion is to pay yourself an hourly wage, and double the cost of materials at the very least before coming up with the price. Dont price it for other people’s “budgets”. Price it to make a profit and to be worth your time! Hope that helps. You can always offer a sale but pricing too low to start and wanting to raise your prices when you realize you’re too low never goes over well with customers. 🥴

    Haha it is my biggest fear that I forget to close up a zipper pocket after birthing a bag 😅
    I shipped off a bag today and I keep panicking myself thinking I didn’t sew the pocket closed… Then I remember I dropped the lining in so it was never open! 😂
