I don’t see what’s wrong with her wanting to where a veil or not, at least she shows modesty unlike many other women who claim they’re Christian and show up to church in revealing clothing

I love how our long hair is called our veil and if we so choose to cover our heads when we are married we can do that too! It isn't about sensuality, but submission to our place in God's hierarchy. No pressure, no demands, if you feel a calling to do so Amen sister! If you don't- amen sister! Blessing ✨🙏🏽

Thanks you for that breakdown of scripture. I have been thinking about wearing a head covering for a few years now, but could never justify it being a moral issue instead of a cultural one to friends and family. This is convicting for sure!

They also mention at the end that it is not a mandatory thing.
“Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering. But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.”

At this point im much more worried about the jeans skirts ect. However you make good points. In Islam they cover the woman fully because of this problem. It likely wouldnt be such a problem if our aocuety wasnt so coed avout everything. Men and women didnt used to work together like they do today. Also they design the clothes to be sensual on purpose im sure.

Well I'd ask you to read it again, it is exactly as she said. Women should have long hair. If women don't want that or don't have hair they should cover themselves. And evidently that can't be talking about hair as a cover, because that takes long to grow and wouldn't make any sense in this context as it says if you don't want to have long hair. So covering I would definitely interpret as veiling.

She’s not twisting scripture. Also look at church history too. They were veiling their head up until the feminine revolution in the 1960s or so. So almost 1900 years they got it wrong? And now suddenly we got it right? If you look at the Greek. Which I reccomend you should, there are 2 different words for covering being used. The one when ir refers to headcovering, it means a veil. An artificial veil

I don't either and am afraid my church friends and family will think I'm wacky or being legalistic. Women especially get very offended with the idea of head coverings. I honestly don't understand why?

    • @someoneveryclever
      @someoneveryclever Před 2 měsíci +1

@@rh10033 The reason they get offended is because they have guilt for not obeying the Scriptures (headcovering is clearly commanded in 1 Corinthians 11 and 1 Corinthians 14:37). Remember, Matthew 7:21 declares "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

I see that Paul meant that our hair is our glory and honor and we are supposed to glorify and honor God in church and when praying (so we should cover our heads while praying). I don't think he meant it was sexual or immodest to show our hair. I don't find that in those scriptures.

Paul is addressing the Corinthians (gentiles) because the Hebrew women already covered. It wasnt a custom for the Gentile women to wear a veil. We are commanded to cover our heads during prayer (speaking to God) and during prophesy (speaking for God). It is an actual covering, he wouldnt need to say anything if it was our hair that covered us. That is a lie for itching ears.
When he says if you dont want to cover you should shave off your hair, it is because you are acting as a man. A man ia not to wear anything on his head during prayer or prophesy.
A lot of Christian women cover full time. One reason being we are told to pray without ceasing. We are always in communication with God throughout our days.
Another reason is for modesty like the Hebrew women. When Jesus tells us that looking with lust is committing adultery in our hearts, anything I can personally do to help keep a man from stumbling, I will do. Our hair is very beautiful. It changes how we look drastically.
If you dont want to cover, this is your choice. GOD gives us the increase if we seek him.
We are commanded to live peaceable with all men, not to cause strife.
      Peace be upon you.

I hope you're doing well! I speak withs with so much love in my heart to you. I will have to disagree that women's hair is sensual in nature. Hair is an appendage of the skin, as are fingernails. The way that hair could be made sensual or provocative would be if someone added in some Playboy bunny beads into the hair or perhaps in how they acted, by swinging their hair in a seductive way on purpose to seduce a man.But hair in and of itself is NOT sensual in nature or provocative. In history going back 1000 years it was not just a tickel-type of headcovering that was worn, but also a band (which exposes part of the top of the head/hair and shows some hair also left down). There is not a command to put the hair up in a bun first. It is ok to have some hair showing while using a head covering for women to pray or prophesy. We are not to add to scripture nor are we to subtract from Scripture. There was a lady at Jesus' feet who was repenting and crying at his feet, and she wiped the tears with her hair.Jesus did NOT tell her something like: "Stop that with your hair you're sensual with your hair out and wiping away those tears with that sensual hair." No, he forgave her and said nothing about her hair being exposed or used to wipe away the tears. It was not arousing Christ. If a man is a pedophile he may long for a young child or teen or woman and may be turned on by all kinds of things that most would not be turned on by. A warped child molester of course is turned on by the private parts of his victim, but maybe even in a wierd way by the childs lips, hair, nose or eyes. It doesn't men the lips nose, eyes or hair are sensual. It just means this corrupt man has big sin issues and is emphatuated and lustful towards a child or teen in an evil way. If a woman didn't wear a bra, but she did it for a reason and she was still modest, it is ok. But many professing Christians would gasp at such a concept. If the woman wore a few layers of shirts and perhaps she even wore a floral busy type over shirt and no bra, people could not tell that she didnt' have a bra on or off as the flowy busy over shirt did not make it noticeable and perhaps she did it as the constricting bra was causing her asthma to flare up and she wasn't able to get full breaths in. God sees our intentions always. People look at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. We can see here, that God would not consider that woman to be sinning in wearing no bra as no once could even tell with the flowing big floral overshirt was on and she was doing it to breathe better. I brought up this hypothetical situation to say that we have to realize that God knows why each person does what they do and He is the judge at the end of it all. Some may were a headscarf like a band type, some may show some hair and still be ok with God as they are doing what many women did 1000 yrs ago who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and wore a Coif type covering or band type covering instead of the tichel type. It's ok with God. It's ok to wear the tichle type of headcovering too if the Holy Spirit leads you in that way.As long as we don't become pious or prideful and are lead by the Holy Spirit it will be ok to wear a bandana, scarf tied around, tichle, turban or hat. So long as we do cover our head when we pray or prophesy that is what God wants, and for us to do it in the right attitude with the right motives. I did see online that although the tight tichel type wrap of headcovering doesn't necessarily cut off oxygen to your scalp since your scalp has no lungs, it did say a tight binding on the head may cause some circulation problems. I get headaches from tight tichles and tight turbans and even tight fitting hats give me a headache, so I wear a light band type headcovering. We ought to mostly focus on spreading the Gospel of Jesus on youtube and out and about instead of over focusing on headcoverings for Christian women in prayer. It's ok to do some videos on it of course, but we should really primarily preach the Gospel. With much much love to you dear one, Ginger

This is sad and deceptive. You are taking scripture and twisting to try to justify why you choose to cover your hair. We are to study the Bible to show ourselves approved, not to use it to prove a false point.

Are you familiar with how women of the Early Church looked? Besides Christians should rely not on their own understanding of the Bible but on the understanding of the Church Fathers that have interpreted the Bible and have made the foundations of all Christian theology. As in 2 Peter 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit." If you feel your own interpretation is correct then you're equating yourself with saints and that's the opposite of humility that is a primal virtue of a Christian. Look at Proverbs 28:26 "Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe." It's made clear that those who trust in their own mind are a fool. We are fools when we trust in our own mind and heart. The main point and meaning to remember is to avoid relying solely on your own understanding. This tendency toward self-reliance has been a source of folly since the time of the Garden of Eden. Believing in your own wisdom is, in fact, unwise.
