    I have been covering full time for several months now since the Holy Spirit drew my attention to 1Corinthians 11:3-16. I have tichels , snoods, beanies, scarves, and hats. I love covering all day and night because I pray spontaneously throughout the day and night . I read the Bible everyday as well. God is my husband so I don’t wish any man to see or compliment my hair. Nuns wear habits so why not I? Thank you for sharing because I am always looking for others who share this belief in God’s Word.

    I cover full time, and it's really odd because I'm generally a progressive, but very committed Christian. It allows me to treat my body as sacred and good by caring for it in a beautiful way. I'm more physically comfortable this way and feel safer and more centered. I physically feel the holy Spirit with me always and it helps me practice the most important parts of my faith like loving my neighbors, being generous to the poor, and being brave in the face of injustice. I look weird, sure, but my confidence when I'm comfortable offsets that.

    This is one of the best videos from a sincere sister I’ve ever seen on this topic out of countless of videos and articles I’ve seen & read.
    How you broke down the TWO coverings was absolutely excellent and accurate to the Greek lexicons.
    I completely agree with your position and your understanding of the text was stated so simply by you yet you still managed to make very powerful points and refutations regarding other interpretations of this passage.
    May the triune God bless you.

    This has been weighing heavy on my heart so I started covering consistently a week ago after I talked with my husband about it. Nobody else in our church covers and I am ok with that- I do not come from a place of pride or condemnation of others and hope others can extend the same courtesy to me as it's deeply personal for me as well. Thank you for posting this as I agree with your points and it was an encouraging message. Do you have a link for more pictures/ inspiration?

      Take heart Sister! You may be the only one in your church, but you are definitely not the only one who has come to that conclusion and been convicted on this point. It is all about the heart, and where God has brought you in your walk of obedience with him.
      If you haven’t checked out my head covering update yet, definitely watch that one. I chat about the blessings that I have seen from head covering in my life.

      @@FaithInEveryDay it's pretty common, you see it pretied with the tails up front, to wrap, or not. The back is tucked in, where you're hair would be, classic jewish tichel, but that style exposes your neck, and if you went through chemo hair loss, it's more flattering to not tuck in the back of the scarf, just let it hang down, obscuring the head line, the way your hair used to. Much easier than trying to fake a nonexistent bun!😂 breathable too!

    I tried head covering but my migraines stopped me from continuing to do it. I wanted to cover all the time. But I haven't been able to find a style that doesn't give me headache. Because it's having something tied on my head that was the problem.

      @FaithInEveryDay  Před 3 měsíci +3

      I definitely understand that one! I struggle with headaches if they are tied too. I have found the head wraps from Garlands of Grace that are stretchy and just slip over, or have a clip are loose enough not to give me a headache. The key to those are a thin velvet headband for underneath to keep them from slipping. Hope you find one that is comfortable for you!

      @@alexgrubb6640 I haven’t studied that in depth, but it was commanded for a specific temple duty for priests who do very hard manual work of the sacrifices. Some basic research suggests that it’s to keep sweat from making the sacrifice impure. Something to dig into more though.

      @marriage4life893 Před měsícem

      @@alexgrubb6640The church and the temple are two different systems. The Levites operated under the Aaronic priesthood. Jesus operates in the order of Melchizedek.
      I think one thing to remember is that Paul, an astute Torah scholar, lived while the temple was standing while writing this letter with the witness of every church in all places adhering to this decree.
      Paul said in 1st Corinthians 10 not to give offense to Greeks, Jews, or the church of God. Therefore, while in the assembly of God, we do not dishonor the creation hierarchy, which includes Christ.
      Hope that helped😊

      I would not be too quick to fully embrace the link given to you as it is from an extremist group and can be pretty easily debunked. The guy makes 5 different arguments against long hair being the covering. He tries to prove that 1st Corinthians 1:6 does not make any sense by replacing the word “covered” with the word “having long hair.” But the problem is that he uses a very bad translation. Note that he goes from one version to another to try to prove his point. He states: “…in verse 6. Where we see the words "cover her head", let's replace that with "have long hair." “For if a woman does not [have long hair], let her also have her hair cut off” [NASB]. Let's look at it again in another Bible translation. “For if a wife will not [have long hair], then she should cut her hair short.” [ESV]. If you refuse to have long hair, you should cut your hair short? But you'd already have short hair! This argument wouldn't make any sense. He has to be talking about an artificial covering.” But reading from the KJV: “For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.”
      Replacing the words with the KJV it is: “For if the woman be not covered (in long hair,) let her also be shorn (meaning cut bald): but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven (shaved bald), let her be covered (in long hair)”
      Can people have short hair and at the same time not be shorn? Of course. Therefore, his analysis is completely off. One, because he doesn’t understand the word used for shorn is more like a buzz cut where you can see the scalp, and two, mainly because he found a SECOND translation to fit his logic; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to prove his point. This again is proof that the Bible versions you use can make you understand something completely different from another translation, thereby preventing one from understanding the true meaning.

    Accept Jesus, Obey God, The meat of knowing God.
    To start with God is The Father, The Son, and the Holy Ghost. Three yet one.
    The law is our schoolmaster. It teaches us who The Father is, our law giver, who The Son is, our redeemer who you are and what it will look like after the return of Jesus. Jesus kept His Father's law while He was here, He will still keep it even though He is now King. Jesus inherited His Father's ways and laws etc..
    To practice our religion is to be doers of The Word. In doing so we learn to not only give our heart to God, but our mind as well. Then one day, hopefully soon, we learn how to give our soul or body and we become the living sacrifice God so seeks.
    The church can't do what Jesus did because it is God who heals etc. through the living who did as Jesus did and can "keep" His Father's laws, given to the children. No one can keep all the laws because they were given to a nation.
    God and Jesus are one. So if we can see Jesus, we see The Father. So let's look upon Jesus. So let's see what The Father did when we repented and asked for help. God placed His law upon our heart.In John we are told that Jesus is The Word.
    Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5
    The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1
    The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13
    and The Word God made flesh John 1:14.
    Let the Law that hung on the cross and the Law written in your heart not just guide you, but lead you and your loved ones. As Paul would say, "put on Jesus." Seek the face of Jesus and spread Him over our land. Arm your children, home, loved ones, neighbours. Remember to pray always. Allow God to set our borders, protect our loved ones and may soon come His day and we are still standing. Put on Jesus. God has spoken to all mankind when He spoke the Ten Commandments, Deut. 6:8-9. (K.J.V.)
    John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
    Psalm 119:151Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.
    Perhaps we should walk in the Spirit and Truth the way God says to in Deuteronomy 6:8-9. All who know and love God, and those who know one cannot stand against the world, need to trust His wisdom. To know their voice is to "keep" the Ten Commandments and Sermon on the Mount. Be sure to set your borders! He hasn't left us, we left Him when we took Him from public schools, courts,etc..
    Please people. We need the Armour of God. What harm can it really do to follow His Ways, and customs? If you love Jesus, accept Him for who He is. Don't be caught in your iniquity. Get in His covenant. (K.J.V.) A decision we all must make for our family.Confirm all things through Scripture and pray always.
    And remember Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity.
    Allow God to protect you, yours and your property. Love is better expressed by action than with words. This world is fallen because of disobedience, or turning our back on God's law. How long will we continue to follow the path man carves out for us, rather than following the path Jesus showed us?
    Get the answers you so seek, by becoming the disciple of Jesus. Let's do the works of our faith.

      @FaithInEveryDay Well, there are so many examples it would be hard to miss. From what I can tell you even have about 3 or 4 videos to this idea, but there are many others that over-focused on this with many more videos. With titles like “head covering journey or testimony” which is an unprecedented view. Never before was this idea brought to the forefront in this fashion as though it involved a journey or much less a testimony.
      For your convenience here are a couple of examples:
      www.youtube.com/@TRUTHATHOME/videos In this channel I count about 10 videos on the subject of head covering out of 44 videos which is around a quarter of all her videos.
      www.youtube.com/@GrlRock/search?query=veil In this channel I count about 5 videos which mentions the odd idea of a head covering journey.
      www.youtube.com/@keterhayofi/search?query=veil In this channel I count about 15 videos
      Now if I had more time, I could easily show you many more, but I am leaving the best for last and that is the "Head covering movement." It is a channel practically dedicated to head covering. With 40 videos over 90% of their videos are on head covering. They are so serious about this subject that they even have their own website and Facebook channel if naming themselves the Head covering movement wasn’t enough to show their dedication. So, if there was ever an example of extremism this is it. I hope this answers your question.

    • @FaithInEveryDay
      @FaithInEveryDay  Před 2 měsíci +3

      @@FA-God-s-Words-Matter I wouldn't classify that as religious extremism, just people sharing what is important to them. This channel is a faith based channel, based on how I practice my faith. Of course I am going to share how my faith has lead me to head cover - its a part of my story which is the definition of testimony.
      I don't see how people sharing what is important to them and their faith journey is religious extremism especially because head covering has been a typical show of faith for different religions over thousands of years.
